  1. It's dumb of the GOP to suggest Obama not nominate someone or threaten to block a nominee before one is presented. On the other hand if someone is nominated, they should only confirm that person if they are satisfied with that person's qualifications and judgment.
  2. Obama was still attending Wright's church when he ran for President. He distanced himself during the campaign. Obama had a relationship with Ayers for many years including serving on a board or two with him. He's not "just some guy who lives in my neighborhood" as Obama explained during the Campaign. Tony Rezko while Obama was a senator and the stream of other kooks that Obama has had in the white house since getting elected? Come on. Obama has a very consistent habit of associating with nutjobs that spans decades.
  3. Bernie realizes now that he should have made an effort to purchase the superdelegates in advance. Hillary beat him to the punch.
  4. We elected a guy twice recently that hung out with a guy that bombed people so it seems character doesn't matter.
  5. Those earrings don't go well with that suit.
  6. How do you go from Lyin Ted to an endorsement? Trump torpedo's bridges that he has yet to cross.
  7. You would be better teaching the class.
  8. He's not winning minority voters so he's got to show some faux empathy to boost his support. He's not able to selectively speak in a southern accent and paint minorities as victims as readily as Hillary.
  9. He did take that into account but since his wife is a teacher, he's basically already on taxpayer funded health insurance of the cadillac variety. He doesn't want to pay for health insurance or college for anyone else.
  10. Very good point. Personally I think Reince Priebus has to go even if Republicans are successful. The party leadership needs a more charismatic person that can articulate the benefits of its' policy positions and drive that throughout the organization in such a way that educates, motivates and enlists voters using modern presentation methods. The party leader should be a heavy hitter and with Wasserman Schultz at the helm of the other side, it should not be difficult to out communicate her and her party. Reince is a weeny.
  11. The younger daughter is still in High School so I get that. Anything that keeps him away from Illinois is fine by me.
  12. Apparently there is a tax bracket calculator on the Bernie Sanders site that allows one to enter their income and then see what their Fed tax bracket will be under his new programs. A guy that works with us who is a lifelong Democrat went through the exercise and the Bernie calculator estimated his fed tax bracket at 37% which is much higher than what he pays now. He said no way does he want to pay the fed 37% plus all the state and other taxes. Him telling me this was a beautiful moment. An absolutely priceless moment.
  13. Yeah, the Chinese guy or gal that wrote the manual and the idiot that reviewed and approved the English translation and the horrible diagrams do get some of the blame.
  14. Mitt would have been an excellent President IMO. It's a shame we aren't re-electing him now.
  15. Balanced budget = racist Secure the border = racist Send illegals home = racist Defeat ISIS = racist Not on board with man made climate change = racist Tax reform = racist Get tough on China = racist (say it with me: Chi-nah) No refugees until we can verify their identity and intentions = racist Take care of our vets = racist More jobs for people who want to work = racist Make America great again = racist. It's code for white supremacy.
  16. Yes but sadly better people don't run or if they do they don't get nominated. We Americans unfortunately deserve the government we have. We elect these people again and again.
  17. I think you missed my point but agree with your post.
  18. Does anyone see Cruz or Rubio getting out of the race after Tuesday for the greater good so that one or the other can take on Trump head to head? I don't. I see them both stubbornly staying in.
  19. We have to give Trump credit for at least identifying the big issues we face (jobs, debt and spending, immigration, obummercare, national security) and for expressing outrage that the current whitehouse regime and congress aren't doing squat about any of them. For that he should get some good marks. Aside from that, though, I will be stunned if the American electorate will select Trump and Hillary as primary winners to face off to be our next President. Our country should be embarrassed.
  20. Getting 77% of idiots to vote for you is not an accomplishment.
  21. Obviously a very flawed poll. This could never be the case.
  22. The American electorate is mostly clueless and you should pat yourself on the back as a contributor to that end. Hillary is in for a rough ride if Trump, Cruz or Rubio oppose her. No candidate offers more low hanging fruit in terms of negative material to work with. From her lack of any real accomplishments while in elected positions to her constant and proven lying on many topics she's a full blown department store full of lousiness. Add to that she's extremely low energy. Jeb looks like an olympic decathlon champion compared to her. Trump will have a field day with her.
