Talk is fine but what are the goals of such talks? Few have any confidence in Obama's negotiating skills or his objectives given how he's done with Iran or his prisoner swaps or even with the Republicans on the hill.

It's a cheap thrill for him. He can't win the debate on facts or even a well founded opinion. Come to think of it, he's more like Trump here than any of us.

She's simply wrong on most of the big issues that face our country but that's the Democrat party right now. The other big problem is her integrity and lack of any accomplishments. On the Republican side at least there is a healthy debate going on about Trump's (and other candidates) qualifications. On the Dem side y'all are falling hook line and sinker for her or Bernie who offers a mostly impossible agenda.

Both Reid and McConnell were on the Meet The Press this AM and shown video clips of their previous positions on election year SCOTUS nominees from years ago. Neither when faced with the contrast of their previous positions to current positions would back down or acknowledge that they are playing politics with this. No shock in that but it's amazing how these guys can stare into the camera and lie and spin and of course we the voters keep electing them.

Yeah, that's the initial reaction most will have. When you get beyond that you wonder how the family could have such a belief system. This is what is dividing this country further and further. Belief and value systems that are so far from what this country was founded upon. Sad.

I'm not calling you a dummy or anyone else that supports Trump. For the moment I conceded that (Trump dummies) to Gator simply to draw a comparison with what we're seeing on the dem side. In other words, if 33% of republican voters are whacked, then 99% of dems are whacked. Blended together that's over 60% of voters that are whacked. I guess that means for the moment, you're whacked, but no dummy.

So the 1/3 of Republican voters that have cast a vote for Trump are "dummies". How do you explain the 99% of Democrats that are supporting a socialist or a liar or even Trump rather than a good man like Jim Webb who had almost no support?

OK, so both parties are guilty of playing politics with SCOTUS nominees and similarly so. My view is that the Senate should have the hearings and decide to confirm or not. This is one of the important things that they are elected to do and this is another example of politicians not doing as they should which only furthers the habit.
