  1. I disagree....in the end, after 5 years, he failed to build a playoff team. He failed. He was a failure(though not horrible). However, he certainly does not deserve to be demonized as he has been on TBD. Just because he ultimately failed in the overall goal, does not mean he failed in all areas. Strangely, I feel he succeeded in a majority of areas but the negatives obviously outweighed the positives.
  2. 1. HOUSTON - BUSH 2. NYJ(from NO) - LEINART 3. TENNESSEE - V. YOUNG 4. NO(from NYJ) - HAWK 5. GREEN BAY - M. WILLIAMS 6. SAN FRAN - V. DAVIS 7. OAKLAND - NGATA 8. BUFFALO - D'BRICK 9. DETROIT - HUFF 10. ARIZONA - CUTLER Until the real draft, this one is as legit as any. GO BILLS!
  3. I agree. All but about 3 were high tackles. The 3(?) that weren't were all below the knee hits. Didn't see him do 1 decent hitting tackle. It's hard to see that tackle style bringing down big strong Pro RBs or TEs. Now I don't think I want us to draft him anymore. ......I wish people would stop posting about things being previously posted. If nobody is interested, it quickly drops. Thanks for the link ofiba.
  4. Funny, ESPNs Todd McShay is saying the opposite.... • Despite their switch from a two-gap defensive front to more of a one-gap penetration scheme, the Bills have Oregon DT Haloti Ngata rated ahead of Florida State DT Brodrick Bunkley. Ngata is a massive prospect (338 pounds) who seemingly fits the Ted Washington-mold as a space-eating nose tackle in the middle of a 3-4 scheme. However, Ngata spent most of his time as a 4-3 DT/NT at Oregon and would be asked to do the same if drafted by the Bills with the eighth overall pick. You would think ESPNs staff would perhaps communicate between themselves beforehand. Also... Len Pasquarelli says: Despite talk about the Jets possibly trying to move up from their current No. 4 slot in the first round, the team doesn't appear to have any such designs, no matter what transpires ahead of them McShay says: Multiple sources have told me the Jets are aggressively seeking a deal that would catapult them to the top of the draft board to bring Bush to New York.
  5. I don't even think he forgot about the O-line. He unwisely invested a #4 pick into MW. He brought in Villarrial & Teague who have given good play. He drafted Jennings who played at a high level. He drafted Preston who shows some promise. Gandy & Anderson were rated at 70 & 72 respectively last year(by Scouts. Inc) when we got them in which put both into the 'Good Starter' category. He gave Peters a chance when no other would. His biggest errors are noted previously in this thread....consistency of plan, coach selection, letting go of the wrong players...etc, etc.
  6. You talk rubbish....obviously Bush is going to fall to us at #8.
  7. Since you added Hawk to the list, you should have also added the other 4 from the consensus top 5. For most, Hawk is a no-brainer.
  8. At a time when all things draft are getting a bit too heavy, this article was fun to read. http://www.nfl.com/nflnetwork/story/9385975
  9. I didn't mean to cause offense. My post was a summary of yours. All I was doing was pointing out that you think they won't ...unless 'x' event happens ...which means they then will. They won't unless they will I know you think it unlikely....so do I. I was just playing word games.
  10. I like it (& agree with your thoughts on NO re. Hawk) Now comes the difficult part. Make it happen!
  11. That's exactly right.... They won't pick a top QB....unless they do pick a top QB
  12. That being the case perhaps OTs outside the top 10 should also be considered when assessing their bustability.
  13. At the risk of being a bit facetious.... They won't pick a top QB....unless they do pick a top QB?
  14. Agreed(though I can't be bothered researching again) It has only been the last few years that the busts have been common.
  15. You wrote that just to get a response didn't you??? #4 1983 Chris Hinton 7 pro bowls #2 1984 Dean Steinkuhler 5 pro bowls #2 1995 Tony Boselli 5 pro bowls #4 1996 Jonathan Ogden 9 pro bowls #1 1997 Orlando Pace 7 pro bowls
  16. I wouldn't describe Ngata as 'falling' to us. Closer would be us 'reaching' for Ngata.
  17. Unfortunately according to the 'trade value chart' that deal would be very unlikely to happen. 8 = 1400 17 = 950 48 = 420 51 = 390 As you can see 2 seconds isn't going to happen. their 115(4th) = 64 our #8 for their 17,51 & 115.....not nearly as nice
  18. I'm thinking either we sign him up now to a long term deal or we lose him next year. Taging him next year will cost another 20% on top of what he gets this year. May as well pay him buckets now (we have heaps of cap room at the moment). Charles Woodson was a good example last year of what we will be looking at if we tag him again next year.
  19. I am not sold on Bunkley, Ngata nor Justice... Slim slim slim chance of getting D'brick(or is that just wishful thinking ) I expect us to get Davis or Huff & I'd be happy with it. I want us to take the best player available (though I'd balk a bit at a QB)
  20. I'm so confused. You say done deal. Bills WILL draft Ngata. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showt...59entry665859 This guy says NO WAY will we draft him. Who do I believe? Ooooh, who do I believe?
  21. I'm so confused. You say NO WAY. Bills wont draft Ngata. http://www.stadiumwall.com/index.php?showtopic=45317&st=0 This guy says it's a done deal regardless of who else is available. Who do I believe? Ooooh, who do I believe?
  22. I have looked at the other rounds &..... From years 1986-2001 (I only counted rounds 2-7 since 8+ are no longer used) # of QBs drafted in rounds 2-7 = 127 # of QBs of long term starter caliber(including pro bowlers) = 18(14%) --plus Warner(undrafted), B. Johnson(9th round), Elvis Grbac & Trent Green(8th round) # of QBs to make Superbowl or considered good enough = 13(10%) # of QBs to make the superbowl = 6(5%) # of QBs to win the superbowl = 3 --Brad Johnson drafted 9th round won with Bucs --Warner undrafted won with Rams Using the 'trade value chart' there would obviously be far better value/pick with rounds 2-7 rather than round 1.
