  1. Oh so true. Can you imagine if all of us on TBD were calm/rational/clear headed? Bills fan #1: "Who do you think will start at QB this year?" Bills fan #2: "I think J.P. but time will tell." Bills fan #1: "I think Nall but you are totally correct, none of us truly know." Bills fan #2: "What about the O-Line?" Bills fan #1: "I guess we'll wait & see." Bills fan #2: "yeah." I hate/love the idiots! Definition of idiot = anyone who doesn't agree with me.
  2. I tend to agree here. I'm glad he didn't come to Buffalo. I figure he would have given us just enough to delay looking for a better QB.
  3. If not one that has been discussed ad nauseam for the past couple of months or so. I'm actually finding this a more interesting discussion due to tempers generally being cooler on this issue than the issue of J.P./Holcombe/Nall. Re Volek.... I used to think his performance was a good arguement against McNair getting MVP. After the Titans lack of confidence in him this off-season I'm starting to doubt weather he has long term starter ability.
  4. Good one. You have enough time to put up this thread but you can't google 'Billy Volek' to get his age.
  5. Bills rightly seem content with their offensive line link: http://www.realfootball365.com/nfl/article...line030506.html
  6. Do you realize you constantly alter the topic discussed? The question is weather the 2001 draft was a good one or not(obviously in relation to the fact that people are grading the 2006 draft now....i.e. bust/pro-bowl). You are discussing how effective we managed said 2001 draftees. IMO, the 2001 draft was A grade. If we could emulate that this year & next year... Regarding our managing of the 2001 players....I'm not as negative as H_A. but I think we certainly could have managed them better than we did.
  7. I know what you mean. I find as the off-season progresses I gravitate towards other sports which I couldn't give 3 hoots about. It's the anticipation of waiting that's unusually cruel. I pity all the pessimists here on TBD. At least I'm an optimist & have a long wait until the season opener where we kick ass. The pessimists have a long wait for us to be slaughtered.
  8. He recently failed the Rams physical. Does not fit our new 'fast' D.
  9. ....& for a second or two they thought he'd eaten him.
  10. Hey Ozy....what happened on draft day? You guaranteed me Ngata to the Bills was a done deal. What happened?
  11. Not that I have faith in any anylist anymore but for what it's worth.... 2005 league DE rankings & grades from Scouts. Inc. 1 Julius Peppers 95 2 Dwight Freeney 94 3 Michael Strahan 93 4 Jason Taylor 90 5 Jevon Kearse 85 6 Shaun Ellis 84 7 Charles Grant 83 8 Aaron Schobel 82 9 Leonard Little 82 10 Simeon Rice 82
  12. Mike Williams signed with the Bucs. .... ....um, no wait a minute. Mike Williams signed with the Jags! ..... ....what's that about the Lions? ..... Who are we talking about again?
  13. How about some more over-simplifying. If it was so easy to trade down, why didn't the Lions trade down. Surely Sims(or equal value) would have still been there a few picks later.
  14. That is the frustrating thing...time. By the time we know one way or the other......
  15. Um...which player was the obvious value choice again? It sounds like Marv & Co. believe that the BPA was Whitner. Are you suggesting they should have followed ESPNs big board rather than their own?
  16. I think you misunderstood me.... I wasn't passing judgement on him, I was saying.... A fifth rounder is not generally expected to be an instant starter. This was in response to those that were implying(or stating) that if Butler does not start, it is a bad pick. I'm quite content to let our 5th rounders develop but hey.... I hope your assessment on him is correct & he starts opening day.
  17. How good will Whitner have to be to justify the #8 pick? 1: If he is better than Huff....pick justified(obviously) 2: If he is a pro-bowler....pick justified. (what % of top 10 picks become pro-bowlers?) 3: If he starts instantly & has a solid career....pick justified. (what % are busts?) Even if we picked him at #11, #13, #15 or #17, justifications 2 & 3 would still apply. The reality is.... half of the first round(give or take) are busts. The reality also is.... half of the top 10 picks selected(give or take) are busts. Who cares where he is taken... If he isn't a bust, Pick Justified.
  18. But....we reached....we're crapola....Marv is a dufus....ESPN said.... You know, even if Marv took 'the trade down' everyone says was there, likely he would have netted a 3rd rounder. If we assume he did this & picked a bust with it....all is square. Youboty(3) was meant to go in the 1st Simpson(4) was meant to go in the 2nd Williams(5) was meant to go in the 3rd What is wrong with everybody? A draft is 7 rounds not just 1 &..... A draft is not about who the media thinks is good.
  19. Hmmm, Jason Peters is nothing? Last year nearly every Bill underperformed. Let's see what happens to the line when it is motivated with some fresh blood.
  20. Oh, STFU! & to all those who think a 5th round rookie is expected to start..... STFU to you too.
  21. Quick, get a Hard-Hat....the sky is falling! 2 OL were drafted since our 3rd pick.... OT Rashad Butler C Jason Spitz (I can't imagine you would have been happy with them.) There are only 7 picks before us in Round 4. Perhaps they know an awful lot more about the talent available than us.
