  1. My lovely wife who I love and obey has had me on Atkins for the past month. She said I could eat and drink whatever I want on Saturday, so I am thinking pizza for dinner, hot dogs(zwiegels white hots) for lunch, and Sam Adams all day long.
  2. I said the right player. I am a fan of the BPA, when the Bills pick unless it is a RB which is really the only position we have that is set. Besides that whoever is highest on the Bills FO board they should take. I hope they get Harvey, but if they feel that Thomas or Sweed is a better option then I will be happy unless that player is a bust. I have faith in them from the last two drafts and until they blow a draft class(like TD did over and over again after his first one)then I will trust them. I am not saying they should go get a LB, I am just saying I wouldnt cross it off the needs list. I agree with you 100 percent.
  3. Crowell is good in coverage but gets blown up when teams run at him and has almost no pass rush.On most teams he would be brought in on passing downs to drop into coverage, he would not be a starting linebacker on 2/3 the teams in this league. He is a nice player and a good locker room guy but to say he is anything more then a nice player would be wrong in my humble opinion. Mitchell has been a career journeymen and Poz has a total of 3 NFL games under his belt. I am optimistic about this core but to say I am not mildly concerened would be a lie. If the right LB like Rivers falls to us we would have to consider it. Like other Buffalo LB in the past (kieth Newman, Gabe Northern) we as fans of the Bills overvalue them.
  4. I feel good about the schedule however the team hits the west coast in week 4 against the Arizona which west coast trips usually kills this team. Beating the Jets twice again this year might be asking alot as every dog has its day. Even though the Chiefs suck Arrowhead is always tough to play at, and history tells us the Bills struggle there. Denver is also tough to play and it is set up like a trap game in between division opponents. The Browns and us are pretty equal, I like us because its at home. The Jags game in week two will be tough, as well as San Diego at home.I would like to think we can beat the *Pats once this year but that will also leave us with one loss. I look for this team to go 9-7 or 10-6. Although we have some easy teams to play location and timing I think is less then perfect. I still see this team as a work in progress but we have come a long way, and they way they are getting built shows that they will be good for the long haul. I think it is possible to make a run at a wildcard and if the *Pats stumble badly a division title.
  5. Hit the nail on the head. I dont deny we need a reciever, however to say we dont need a DE is kidding ourselves. My personal opinion is that DE's are more important then recievers. I also feel that the redzone offense will improve if the new O-cordinator decides to run inside the opponent 7 yard line instead of calling some slow developing pass play. Also if at last we have stability at the QB position with Either TE or Losman( I could care less wich one it is) I see our offense being better(especially with the O-line giving another year to jell). It wont be great offense but it will be middle of the pack type offense. If our defense can add a dominant pass rusher, atleast on paper they have the ability to be a top five in the league this year.
  6. Etman was actually pretty good when healthy, didnt the colts draft Quentin Coryatt in the first round as well that year.
  7. However the Bills didnt even pick Kelly with their first pick. The drafted Hunter 12 overall then Kelly fourteenth overall, then he turned around and traded Hunter for Ferragamo.
  8. This is not a dumb question at all. I believe that the Rams can go ahead and start negotiations, however at this point it would be more difficult to sign because agents get more leverage as it gets closer to training camp and teams want the rookies there. It is easier to sign the top overall choice because a player wants the prestige of going first overall and is more likely to want to enter contract talks. Everyone after him is going to play hardball
  9. First Seargent always told the whole company at Friday formation before the weekend three simple rules to follow. The rules where, 1. No swimming without a buddy 2. no sex without a condom 3 If you are in a room with a woman that needs to get hit, leave the room
  10. Win Sept. 7 Seattle Seahawks 1 p.m. Loss Sept. 14 at Jacksonville Jaguars 1 p.m. Win Sept. 21 Oakland Raiders 1 p.m. Win Sept. 28 at St. Louis Rams 4:05 p.m. Loss Oct. 5 at Arizona Cardinals 4:15 p.m. Oct. 12 Bye Loss Oct. 19 San Diego Chargers 1 p.m. Win Oct. 26 at Miami Dolphins 1 p.m. Win Nov. 2 New York Jets 1 p.m. Loss Nov. 9 at New England Patriots 1 p.m. Win Nov. 17 (Mon.) Cleveland Browns 8:30 p.m. Win Nov. 23 at Kansas City Chiefs 1 p.m. Win Nov. 30 San Francisco 49ers 1 p.m. Win Dec. 7 Miami Dolphins (at Toronto) 4:05 p.m. Loss Dec. 14 at New York Jets 1 p.m. Loss Dec. 21 at Denver Broncos 4:05 p.m. Win Dec. 28 New England Patriots 1 p.m.
  11. Although I would prefer Harvey, I would love Buffalo to finish what they started in free agency and fix the Defensive front seven. I think that as much as we need a WR the offense will be a bit better this year with the QB position having one guy instead of rotating QB's( lets hope), another year of the O-line jelling together, Lynch continuing to improve(and FJ spelling him), and better play calling. The Front seven last year was so pathetic. I love how last year the fixed the O-line, if this year we fix the defensive front I will feel that finally the foundation is set for a playoff run. I agree that we need more weapons for TE but my personal opinion is that we could get further with a better pash rush and run stuffing then we can with a wideout catching 35-40 balls. Our redzone inefficiency had alot to do to our lack of pounding the ball inside of the opponents seven yard line. I dont know if it was the offensive guru that was faichid trying to get to fancy or what. The offense as it is now wont be a top ten but it is reasonable to think it could be top twenty. With a passrusher and even just a good nickleback our defense could be special. Take it for what it is worth, just my humble opinion.
  12. Staubach dropped because he had to serve his commitment to the military before the NFL.
  13. Derrick Harvey Brandon Flowers Jordy Nelson
  14. I dont think that Flowers will be on the board in round two, if he is we need to get him. I personally would love to get Harvey then Flowers. I might get destroyed for saying DE and CB would make me happy on day one but I really like alot of the defensive players in this draft. I wouldnt mind getting Groves to play LB for us either on the weak side to take over for Crowell next year. On offense I like Thomas and Albert although on the priorty list a gaurd is the lowest priorty it has been in a decade but you can never have enough O-lineman. I will be happy if the Bills get any one of these five players, totally blown away with two.
  15. I think we have to atleast give NE two tuff close games to get any repect at all. That being said no game is a must win, but you need atleast ten wins for a good shot at the playoffs. I always hate it when commentators say must win games in week one,it drives me crazy.
  16. I personally enjoyed it. I have my brother over, we barbeque, drink, flip between ESPN and NFL network. My wife takes the kids for the day and it is probably the only day all year I have no responsibilities, and probably the only day all year I get drunk. I work as a Corrections Officer, come home to my beautiful pregnant wife, her 93 year old grandfather, my two stepsons 19 and 15 respectively(actually only one because the oldest lives with his dad and comes over on weekends), my wifes four year old cousin that we are adopting, and my two kids 5 and 1 respectively. I would not trade one thing about my life as I feel very lucky, but my wife always gives me the last Saturday of April kid free with nothing(except a little yardwork to do). To sum up I feel as it should be 20 minutes a pick to longe the draft not shorten it.
  17. I like your idea alot. I think that would make a very good comprimise. I personally dont like the shorter picks inbetween rounds, but I dislike moving the third round till day two even more. The NFL has the only draft in professional sports that gets this kind of coverage. It is an event that the harcore fans love and look forward to. I have no idea why they would shorten the whole proceedure because they get the spotlight. It is aired only on sports chanels so its not like it is cutting into Sixty Minutes. To me it just feels like they are trying tp fix something that is not broke.
  18. I agree with alot of what you said, I like Denney and he doea not get enough due. Kelsey on the other hand I think is overvalued by this franchise. Schobel is over 30 and coming off his worst year as a pro. Alot can be said that the talent around him was terrible but his rookie year the talent was bad and he still got 8 sacks or more. I personally would rather they target LB or DE to make our front seven better. At LB we have Crowell who is also overvalued by this team, Mitchell who has been a career journeymen, and POZ who has only played three games as a pro. I like what they did in free agency dont get me wrong but I would like them to make this front seven dominant. I know WR is a huge need, I just feel that a strong front seven will be better over the long haul then addressing our WR position with so many questionable WR(both Character and talent wise) in this draft. I might be biased because I hate how so many WR become headcases and bigger then the team personalities. Ofcourse I am working 3 doubles in a row this weekend second and third shifts no less, so I am beat and going to get some sleep, maybe I will feel different when I wake up, but I doubt it.
  19. Hey if he can keep running till he gets the time he likes, maybe if we pick him and dont like him we can do the draft again.
  20. It might have been, except that Hank Bulluogh was the D-Cordinator and then succeeded Kay. Probably the worse coach ever, he made Mularkey look like friggin Bill Walsh.
  21. You mean clutter like tons of mock draft threads.
