  1. Anyone who suggests that the Bills trade down obviously did not watch the last draft. Does anyone think that Marv will "settle" for quantity over quality? I don't see it. He doesn't do that. If anything, he may take someone higher than the "draft experts" say they should have gone at the spot but he will not gamble who he believes is the best player for the team & trade down. I can however see him trade back into the first again. Hearing people say things like #12 is too high for this guy or that guy makes you think. Looking back at all drafts in retrospect it is really funny that anyone predict who the better pro will be by how the college scouts rank them pre-draft. Jerry Rice went 18th in the 1st round (I think). Great pick right? I guarantee if he had been selected #12 overall that the team who got him would have probably been told by draft experts that they had reached for him. Bottom line is nobody knows. We will all root for whoever they pick and hope they pan out. One thing is for sure. It wont please everyone.
  2. He'd be a good pick up if this were John Madden video game football. Which incidently is how I think the Redskins organization makes scouting decisions.
  3. Are you stoned? On second thought maybe that is a great idea? Let's also get Marv on the phone to trade for Pacman Jones and see if we can get Chris Henry in here too. This kinda stuff eats away at your team. As a manager of a team you really get to see how one persons bad additude (regardless of talent) can bring the whole team down. Just say no Marv!
  4. Just impatient this time of year. The draft wait is killing me.
  5. This really boiled my blood too. I have been waiting for them to go through 20 other teams to get to the Bills.... and nothing. I have to imagine that JP was not available today? Who knows? Hopefully they get there head out of there ass and get it fixed.
  6. This really sucked. It is also going to run into Thursday and Friday. Pacman took up a good 35 min of the program and Eddie Robinson took up the rest. Since they cut the Bills to show Pacman it actually made me hate him more than I already did.
  7. On NFL Network at 7pm ET repeated at 10pm Wednesday. J.P Losman will be the live guest.
  8. Mayock from NFL Network lists him as his top LB ahead of Patrick Willis.
  9. Wouldnt mind this although I would rather have a RB but he will be gone. I hope Marv does not trade down. We are already a young team and there is only so many rookies a team is going to need. We need to get more value not more quantity. Jimmy Johnson approach doesn't work for more than a year or two.
  10. I disagree. I have both channels and although I couldn't get through the off-season without NFL Network their first attempt at covering the draft looked second rate. I will still flip channels though. It baffles me that people would not get Direct TV or at least pay for NFL Netowrk from their cable operator. It is worth it. By the way...for all you with little ones and a wife... "Go Diego Go" from Nickelodeon is in Buffalo (Sheas) on draft day... That may buy you a couple precious hours if your wife gives you a hard time. Mine is totally cool with it and she understands my excitment & emotions because she acts the same way when the Oscars roll around.
  11. Just killing time until the draft starts. It's taking forever to get here. Did anyone see the Southpark episode where Cartman was waiting for the Wii to come out? He froze himself so that he would not have to deal with the wait. That is what I liken this to. Here is to 100's more disagreements until draft day... What else is there to talk about?
  12. Why CB? We have 4 viable corners. Nate's replacement was drafted last year (Youboty) and has been in the system for a year. If he were there this year we would be lucky to get him in the first. So again, why would we draft another corner in the 1st? To replace the replacements? We also kept all of our depth at CB and have two rising safties. I agree linebacker is a VERY pressing need so I wouldnt mind spending the 2nd rounder and maybe one of the (2) 3rd rounder's as well but Marv needs to get a RB 1st IMO. A-Train is a decent back up but after watching the Bills games over again from last year he was not a #1 back. I don't think the guys projected in the 2nd are either. Our offense will be better because of the line additions, but this offense revolves around the running back and RB should be our top replacement priority.
  13. He can spend his other 30 picks in the draft (the way it is going) on defense since we are losing all of our starters but get us one of the top 2 backs with #12. If Peterson is there take him, if not grab Lynch. All the other backs are lower 2nd tier. Even with the offensive additions and defensive losses the defense is still the strength of this team without a top flight RB.
  14. Annual tradition to have the Boys over, pick up a bucket or 2 of "Hot" Duff's wings and watch the whole damn thing. Wife gets the 2 lil ones out of the house but I still dress them in their game day gear. My one buddy is a big time Brown's fan and my cousin is a Niners fan so they usually get to see earlier picks.
  15. Bills Picks- Donte Whitner- Made a smooth transition to the NFL. A. John McCargo- A foot injury ended his season in week 5. C. Ashton Youboty- Showed promise in limited opportunitites. C. Ko Simpson- A steal who's rangy and physical and has ball skills. A. Kyle Williams- A high-effort player who will be fixture for years. B. Brad Butler- The jury is still out because he didn't play much. D. Keith Ellison- Shows quickness, instincts, and playmaking ability. B+. Terrance Pennington- Flashes the potential to be a solid blocker. B. Aaron Merz- A smart tough guy who may contend for a starting job. C. Other teams with an A grade on a player... Rd1 Matt Leinart QB- AZ Rd1 Haloti Ngata- DT- BAL Rd5a Dawan Landry- S- BAL Rd2b Devin Hester CB- CHI Rd5 Mark Anderson DE- CHI Rd2 Andre Whitworth- OT- CIN Rd4 Domata Peko- DT- CIN Rd7 Ethan Kilmer- FS- CIN Rd1 Kamerion Wimbley- LB- CLE Rd1 Jay Cutler- QB- DEN Rd1 Ernie Sims- LB- DET Rd2 DeMeco Ryans- MLB- HOU Rd1 Joseph Addai- RB- IND Rd6b Antione Bethea- S- IND Rd2 Maurice Jones-Drew-RB- JAX Rd3 Clint Ingram OLB- JAX Rd7- Jarrad Page- FS- KC Rd2a Cedric Griffin- CB- MIN Rd4b Stephen Gostkowski- K - NE Rd1 Reggie Bush- RB- NO Rd4 Jahri Evans- G- NO Rd7b Marques Colston- WR- NO Rd1b Nick Mangold-C- NYJ Rd4b Leon Washington- RB- NYJ Rd2 Thomas Howard OLB- OAK Rd1 Santonio Holmes- WR- PIT Rd2 Anthony Smith- S- PIT Rd2 Marcus McNeill- OT- SD Rd1 Vernon Davis- TE- SF Rd1 Vince Young- QB- TEN Some other notables were... Jimmy Williams-D Mario Williams-C Jason Allen- D Laurence Maroney- B Chad Jackson- D D'Brickashaw- B Michael Huff- B- Broderick Bunkley-F Winston Justice- D Max Jean-Gilles- D Buffalo did not look too bad compared to the rest of the NFL. Not saying I agree with all the grades in the book. Philly's draft (highly regarded among the experts on draft day last year) looks to have turned out very bad. The only player who was semi-productive was Omar Gaither.
  16. That's funny! Do we make excuses for him being 19 going against NFL players though?
  17. Sweet! I still think I would rather have Willis or one of the RB's. Damn teenagers.
  18. On this premise, would you take a kick to the groin to not have to watch the smug grin on Tom Brady's face again for another Pats Superbowl win?
  19. PFW- "Does not play hard every snap. Not a great finisher. Struggles to unlock his hips and is stiff in the ankles. Not very tough. Has a tendancy to play tall. Appears to think too much. Struggles to escape from experienced hand-fighters. Underachieved early in his career. Not very tough and struggles to play with pain. Fluctuations in weight need to be evaluated. Could be easily distracted". ESPN- "Lacks ideal closing speed and athleticism and will never be an explosive interior penetrator. Pass-rush moves need polishing. Comes out of stance too high at times, costing him power. Appears to wear down late in games and doesn't always play with a great motor. Must carefully maintain conditioning". I do not want to focus on the negatives because I know that every player has positives and negatives and the only things that really jumped out at me was the lack of intensity. On the other hand TSN listed him as their top DT and they do not list any weaknesses.
  20. Has anyone seen this guy dominate consistently in games? Is he worthy of the #12 spot? I never saw him play other than the highlight reels on NFL Network. He is a 3 Technique which the Bills seem to have an over abundance of. He looks like a great pick but everything I read about him lately says "upside" for the positives, and the negatives are "Not very tough, does not have a high motor & takes plays off". I am always a bit concerned when players tend to skyrocket this much after the season (reminds me too much of Mike Mamula or Erik Flowers). I would love someone to convince me otherwise considering the need on the DL.
  21. We can't have an entire team of rookies. Keep your picks or package them and move up. After all we can take as many UFA as we want.
  22. Hopefully Reebok can dye those McGahee jersey's purple. I am sure they have a large quantity that nobody will buy!
  23. Hall fits our scheme. From what I have read the top two "Cover 2" corners in the draft are Leon Hall & Daymeion Hughes. I too also like our corner prospect in Youboty, and would you really be getting a better prospect anywhere inthis draft? Probably not. If Youboty came out this year he would probably be the top CB available and he has had 1 year to learn our system. We already have 4 corners that will make the team on the roster. One more should be added for competition but I would wait until the 3rd.
