Agreed you can wreck your franchise if you miss but you can wreck it with any miss at #3 overall. You can list draft busts and steals at any position. I am not saying the Bills will take a QB at 3, I am just hoping they get one of the QB's this year considered a top 5 at the position....I would like to see them leverage their 2nd, and their 4th from Lynch to get back into the first to get a top QB. The frustrating part is that there are so many holes so it's easy to say we need everything. But you have to start with a QB. Beyond Fairley (who will probably be gone at 3), I think the rest of these DL either dont fit our scheme or are a bigger risk than some of the QB's coming out. It's easy for the rest of the league to look at the Bills and laugh about Maybin, but back when he was picked, most Mock Drafts had him going right around where they picked him. I think D-Line, O-Line and LB can be addressed with FA and the rest of the draft.

Yes. They have to get a QB early this year for me to have hope in this team for the future. All 4 remaining teams in the playoffs drafted their QB's in round one. Plus, we will probably have to sit on a new QB for a year. this is the perfect year since we have Fitz signed only through next season. I cant see the Bills giving Fitz a big long term contract extension and I cant see them going in to next year with Levi Brown as the backup. I don't even think Brohm makes it to training camp. I for one will be EXTREMELY disappointed if we do not get a QB with our 1st or 2nd. I know that it is all a crapshoot but I would like to see Gailey work with a guy who was talented enough in college to be considered a 1st round pick. Saying that a prospect is not worthy of the 3rd overall pick is all a matter that can only be resolved after a career has had a chance to play out.

In rounds 2-7 teams with the same record alternate regardless of playoffs. The only exception is the 2 Super Bowl Teams who will pick last in every round.

NFL Network gets me through the draft season leading up to the draft but their actual day of the draft coverage sucks. Now with Shefter at ESPN its a no brainer. NFLN plays the same highlights they have been playing for months. I wish it were not so since I really like the crew better. That being said ESPN with NFL Network on DVR.

Claussen only falls to the 2nd if he gets drunk and plows his SUV into some drunk chicks in D-Town B-Lo.

Bradford would have been #1 overall if he came out last year as he was rated ahead of Stafford. There is only a snowballs chance in hell we will get them. I would not be suprised in the least if the Bucs land the top pick, take Suh, and then the Rams pick Bradford with the 3rd overall pick. Claussen will be gone to the Redskins. Our only chance to get either would be to trade up. McCoy could be this years Brees although I am not certain he will last until the 2nd round either.

Yeah. I magine the average Bills fan probably has a better eye for talent than Bill Walsh. Our QB problems probably had nothing to do with all the injuries and inexperience at OT and TE, a first year OC given the job a week before the season, a new WR that kept dropping the ball in the beginning of the year, and playing 3 of the toughest defenses twice. All that bad stuff that happened last year made our players a stronger team. We now have young O Lineman with actual game experience as starters. I get it though. I honestly would not consider the draft a success unless we come out of it with Bradford, Claussen, McCoy, or Tebow (in that order). I think the Bills would make a real mistake if they pass on Bradford or Claussen if available. If those two were gone I would be OK with them taking an OT and trading back into the first or top of the 2nd to get one of the others. I would aslo be cool with any one of the Eagles QB's (including Vick). I would be disappointed with Campbell, Orton, or Thigpen as I think the guys we have are better prospects.

First off, I wanted Cowher to coach the Bills. It appears that this will not happen. Here are some of the objections I read on the board as to why people do not like Frazier. 1. He has great defensive players in Minnesota so he will not be able to duplicate his success elsewhere. Response: Who has won without great players? Cowher? No. Never heard the argument that Cowhere only won because of all the great Steelers players that were there. 2. He runs the Cover 2 and I want to see a different defense. Response: Our defensive players are Cover 2 type players. It would take all the Bills Free agent money and draft picks to convert to a 3-4. Our defense, although too soft against the run kept us in most games this year. Our Offense couldnt get a first down. He wants to come to Buffalo, is highly respected around the league, and has seen success in everything he has done in his professional career as a player and coach. He has a superbowl ring as a player and as an assistant coach.

I heard Grimm is the running game coordinator. He calls the running plays as he did in Pittsburgh. Considering AZ is considered a passing team I am also not sure he is as qualified as an offensive coordinator.

I want Cowher as much as the next guy but his lack of interest is starting to rub me the wrong way. I understand that the Bills situation is not ideal... We need a QB, OL help, a starting WR. We also do not have the personnel to transition to a 3-4 successfully in 1yr. I do not view coaches who take over great teams and have success on equal level as coaches who take a losing franchise and turn them around. Here are some arguments on why this is starting to urck me. Weather: It is not terrible here in the summer. His family would enjoy 80 degree days if they live here in the summer (unlike the unbearable 100 degree heat in the south) fall weather is 60's and 70's. It didn’t even snow until the last game of the year and look how much of an advantage that game gave us. It has always served us well in the playoffs to have cold weather and snow. After the playoffs his family can go be a snow bird back to Carolina. Not a proven QB: We agree (That's good news) we will upgrade this offseason and address the future of this position in the draft. Not like Carolina has this either (In fact it may be worse) and I think that would not deter him from taking that job. Fans: He will not be appreciated more anywhere in the league or loathed greater when he declines the job. We are not a stadium full of business owner’s major corporations. We are die hards that live and breathe this stuff. We know more about other team’s rosters and players than most fans of those teams. OL: Unfortunately due to circumstances beyond anyone’s control we now have a group of young OG's and OT's with actual game experience. Plug another promising tackle in there early in the draft, and if luck goes more our way with injuries this is not an absolutely terrible group. Skill positions: 2 good running backs, some young big receivers, Lee Evans, Shawn Nelson. The unit has major potential if a solid QB is in the mix. Defense: Conversion to 3-4 might be tough. Our secondary is loaded with young talent with upside. We would need to convert some of our Ends to LB, some of our Tackles to end, and address some holes. We lost so many people last year it is hard to imagine that we would have been as bad as we were if they had stayed healthier. This also allowed some younger guys to gain valuable playing experience. So just do it already.... And if he says no, we can move on to someone who would think of it as a privilege, an honor, and a worthwhile challenge and let Cowher waste his talent for another year on CBS where he could have been rebuilding & go ride the coat tails of someone else’s success and growing pains when he finds his perfect job next year.
