1. If I remember correctly, this is the same frat that sponsored Springfest every year.

    Good times. :D

Actually I think it was TKE that sponsored Springfest...At least back when I went there. I knew a lot of the Sigma Gamma guys and they were definately not in it for the charity. Nobody Joins a Fraternity to do good deeds. We "adopted a highway" and bowled with the mentally handicapped organization, but it all turned in to a drunken good time. Oswego has always been a town of Townies vs college kids. I couldn't imagine a better place to go to college, or a worse place to live.

  2. I don't see the big deal with this, he just said Toronto's a beautiful place and rather than getting another team there it should be the Bills, it's nothing against the fans or Buffalo, he just prefers the city of Toronto to Buffalo, like almost anyone in the world would.

But then when he says: "I got a lotta love for Buffalo," he said. "I thank God for the whole situation. I'm trying to make them proud. I'm trying to do some things here."

He gets no credit for that, nobody's making a new thread about that. He's right about what he said when talking about Bills fans in general: "A true Buffalo fan will tell a Bills player, 'You can't do this, you can't do that.' But once that player performs it's like, 'I told y'all he was the best player.'"

He's got so much love for Buffalo that he thinks they should lose their football team?

Sorry I upset you Mr. Rosenhaus.

  3. First of all i doubt it since i was with a group of 5 big dudes, 2 of whom play college football, so i doubt you'd even say a word to us and second of all, it's not cool to talk tuff on a internet message board. I'm just saying, when the stadium stands for a big 3rd down, i do too.

Says the guy who brags about telling a woman to F off!

  4. i know a lot of people that come into town for the games from Rochester. and they all suck.

no respect/love for the team. they just see it as a place far enough from home to feel like they can get drunk and do anything they want.

im sure this doesnt speak for ALL rochester fans but the ones i know, and their friends, and their friend's friends all ruin good times.

    maybe its just a coincidince.

All the posters I've seen named DrDankenstein are idiots...I'm sure not all DrDankensteins are idiots, just the ones I've seen. Maybe it's just a coincidence.

  5. Just bought a Garmin Nuvi and so far it is great. I am amazed at how many points of interest are pre-programmed into it. I read some poor reviews of the Tom Toms regarding durability and reliability. I really like the compact size of this unit and the fact that you can throw it in your pocket when you leave your car. You can even choose a "pedestrian" option and use it when walking around.

  6. There are many ways to insult the Fish without using intolerant phrases like that, but I agree with the general sentiment.  I'm going to be rooting against the Jets more than for the Dolphins, since it is impossible to put on an orange and teal sweatshirt and pretend to actually like Miami.

you should not be so intollerant of his phrases!

  7. Didn't Detroit lower their seating capacity too?

I'd go to the game but I have to work...and even then I'm not sure I'd enjoy myself.

I've been a season ticket holder as recently as '04 and have been to a couple games this year but have found the experience to be completely lacking in anything remotely fun.

Kind of like reading your posts!

  8. I am not trying to crucify anyone. I live in Rochester and only go to 3 to 4 games per year.

I just think that the whole "Buffalo has the greatest fans in the league" statement is a bunch of crap. I don't care about the economy. I don't care about the teams record. I don't even care about the Sabres bandwagon.

If Buffalo fans truly are the best in the league then every home game would be sold out.

I didn't realize that the word "greatest" had the same meaning as "most" or "most local". A lot of teams have corporations buying many of their tickets. I don't see the average salesman trying to impress a client as a great fan.

*season tickets for the last 5 years.

  9. If the Bills left, I'd leave.

They are the main reason I went to school in Fredonia and stayed here after graduation. I love going to the games and really look forward to the home opener every year.

Our economy is lousy and the taxes are horrid. The Bills are one of the few reasons remaining to love this town/area.

I can only imagine what kind of impact the team leaving would have on the economy and psyche of WNY.

I agree completely. I don't know if it a sad reason to stay in the area, but it may be the biggest reason keeping me here. There are few things I enjoy more than going to the games with my father, and I could make much more money elsewhere.

  10. Here's a new one...

In a night class that i am taking, Career Planning and Development, we were reading an article about George O'Leary as something to never do in the job market. For those of you that don't know, it is lying on your resume.

Now it just so happens that my last name happens to be Leary, so after reading the article, it turn to the entire class and say, "This guy is a disgrace to anybody with the last name of anything resembling 'Leary', damn liar". Simple enough, correct? Professor turns to me (professor's name is Mary Hall, obviously of some kind of British lineage) and says, "What else would you expect? He is Irish". I try to play it off as a joke as i usually do about Irish jokes, and she turns to me with a serious look and simply says, "I wasn't kidding".

Is that horse sh-- or is it just me? You are going to say to someone with an Irish last name, that all Irish people are liars? Are you really that stupid? So she has officially been labeled as an anti-Celctite in my book, and i probably should have gotten up and slapped her in the face a few times.

I guess the only thing to really do.... :)

    853368

Stop lying! This story sounds made up. Typical Irishman!

  11. I dunno  :bag:

This could get very ugly and I'm not sure I'd put down cash money just to watch the Bills get stomped.

Bills fans are passionate but they are not stupid.

IF this team starts winning or at least playing entertaining football with some consistency you'll see buts in seats. :P

    852957

I'm certainly not judging anyone for not going to the game, just those that complain about the non-sellout but don't go themselves. I can understand why someone may not want to go. Personally there is nothing I enjoy more than getting to the lot at 8 and throwing a great tailgate and watching live football. Even a loss is still better than sitting home!

  12. People like you are the reason why the team might eventually leave...

Support your team and don't be so quick to find fault with those that passionately do.

    Go Bills!!!

    852939

Your statement is so stupid I don't even know where to begin. I have been a season ticket holder for 5 years and cheer as loud as anyone in the stadium. I do not ignore people who ask me to sit down so they can see the game like yourself. Going to one game and annyoying those around you does not make you a passionate fan. If being annoying and obnoxious equates to passionate fan, you must be the biggest TBD fan I know.
