The little bastard is rotting the wood? What should I do? Any advice? Thanks
If you poison it, you miss out on all the fun of shooting it! On a serious note, if you poison it and it makes it far enough for a nieghbors dog to eat it, you may end up killing their dog too.

i don't want to be a prick or anything, but let me play devils advocate for a minute...If, when I worked in the stores at Circuit City, I was working Black Friday and was instructed that we were to park in the overflow lot of the adjacent shopping mall, we were in no way shape or form connected to the shopping mall, to allow customer use of the CC parking lot. Lets assume, I park in the mall lot, get out of my car heading to the store for my shift. As I lock my door a disgruntled Best Buy customer(you know how bad BB customers can be), or for argument sake, one of our customers comes over and starts wailing on me because he/she found out that CC did not have any of those 19.00 DVD players that everyone wanted. My injuries prevenet me from working and cause me to be out with injuries for a lengthy period. Would you consider my injuries workers comp? I wasnt on the clock, or even on CC property...
One thing you must understand about insurance is that there is no gray area. There is virtually no situation that has not been battled out in court. If you are not injured while at work or on work property, it does not fall under workers comp. I'm not speaking to the fairness of this, simply the law. There is a reason an insurance application is so damn long, lawyers have been amending them for years after a loophole is discovered.
-
Insurance laws are not based on how sensational a story is in a newspaper. You cannot bend the rules for one person because you will never be able to cross back over that line. That being said, this is a horrible story and I hope she recovers and can teach again. I would imagine her health insurance is provided by the state and also Disability Insurance. As far as having to use her sick days, nearly every employer would require this in order for Disability Insurance to kick in.
Did the Union ever address these dangerous parking situations for their members? If not, perhaps they should be held liable. Sue the Union.
By the way, my dad has been a public school teacher for over 30 years, so I am certainly not a teacher-hating neanderthal.

I *highly* recommend the Paradigm. They're awesome.
I had my choice narrowed down between Paradigm Studio 40s/CC470/Studio 20s and the Klipsch RF7/RC7/RS7. I went to a Paradigm dealer with my wife and we hated the speakers. We went to Ultimate Electronics to listen to the Klipsch and were impressed (not blown away, but impressed). I told some people on AVSForum.com that we thought the Paradigms kinda sucked, and they told us that the dealer must not have known what he was doing (we did get the impression he was clueless during the demo...), so we went to a second Paradigm dealer in the Twin Cities... WOW! We were absolutely BLOWN AWAY with the sound of the speakers. Everything was crystal clear and sounded perfect.
The Klipsch RF7s are good -- but they're more "in your face" than the Paradigms (IMHO). The Paradigms are more refined and let you hear more of the subtle nuances of the movie/music you're listening to.
If you're looking for a new subwoofer as well, I highly recommend this beast:
http://www.svsound.com/products-sub-box-plus2.cfm
I have it and it's awesome, even if I rarely crank it over a "3."
Here's some pictures of what the speakers look like if you're interested:

I'm sure AJ will have some comments of his own as well
CW
The store that I went to has some pretty knowledgable people so hopefully they have them set up correctly. I think I should bring some music that I am familiar with for a comparison next time. I think the Klipsch may have made a better first impression due to the "in your face" sound that you mentioned. I'll have to spend a little more time listening since accuracy and the best overall performance is more important this time around. Thanks for the info.

If you are looking in the $1000 per speaker range, you at least have to hear some Von Schweikerts:
http://www.vonschweikert.com/_products.htm
I had a chance to spend a lot of time with one of their very first models and they are simply unbelievable.
(Von Schweikert used to be one of the main engineers at Bose)
Wow, I think I need a pair of the Vanquish!

I'm thinking of upgrading my polk speakers and have been looking at Klipsch, Paradigm, and Definitive Tech. Anyone have any experience with these? I want something pretty good, but not more than $1000 per speaker. I listened to a few at Rowe in Rochester, and I think I like the Klipsch speakers the best. Also, if anyone is interested in buying a nice surround system of Polk satelites and 8 inch powered sub let me know.

Furrey the reciever from lions belongs on that list.
He was somewhere in the middle of the list.

NFL chanel just named Lee Evans the #10 breakout performer of the year. Of course they also named Tony Romo # 1!
-
He's averaged just under 2.0 tackles a game for his career and posted 26.5 sacks over the past 5 seasons. All things considered I'd say he's above average for his position and like the trade.
I updated my post as was about to look at the message board and found it.
I just read that he had a 56 tackle season last year. Much better than the 2.0 average for his career, must have started out slow. I like the trade...Just need to pick a new jersey for the upcoming year!

"One qualifier is playing in a stadium that is less than 10 years old. Brown said the Bengals are hit with a 44 percent reduction in revenue sharing because Paul Brown Stadium is entering its eighth year of operation."
Not that I saw Buffalo getting a new stadium anytime soon, but this all but guarantees no new stadium. I think this is a good thing and actually like the Ralph better than most new fancy stadiums. It puts to rest the controversy of funding a new stadium and complaints from the pansies about the lack of a dome. I would not be against a fresh coat of paint and a few upgrades though!

Honestly, is there anything you would like to ask him? I will have his ear for about 15 minutes.
Is that how long it will take the cops to arrive and remove you from his yard?
-
Hey Joe...I agree with all of what you just wrote except for Spikes.
And for the record....I AM an expert. I get paid to talk about the Bills and other football teams for a living. You?
I knew these anti-Bills ramblimgs sounded familiar...Is it really you Mike Schopp?
-
And to be honest, I don't care if you like me or not. I've been on this site for about 3 years posting under a different name. I never had the need to post until this pathetic off season. I'm just being honest which is something this board needs more of...not rose colored glasses.
I'll root for Buffalo until I die but this has been a pathetic showing by our front office. I say that to you and I'll say it to Marv when I talk to him....which will be within the next week or so.
Do you really think Marv will listen to some idiot kid yelling about the offseason as you ride your Huffy in front of his house?
-
Try a Boddington's and talk to me afterwards. You'll give up Guinness after you've had a Boddington. Smooth and creamy, it is pure heaven on earth.
Old Speckled Hen is my favorite. Boddington isn't too bad though. Guinness is one of the few dark beers I really don't like.

if you live in western new york, there is a lot of snow so be careful people because it might be good for the cops to bust drunk people on a snowy day. But I am going to MacGregors, because today its the last day before they close down for a month
but happy st patricks day and cheers
A fellow Rochestarian I assume. We are hitting the MacGregors in Henrietta for dinner to start out the night. Isn't MACGregors Scottish?

Until the WNSA fiasco, they weren't even the best sports station in Buffalo let alone the country. God I miss 107.7! You could put static on the air with a bills update every 5 minutes and a ton of people in this area would listen. People love their sports here and have no other options than WGR. Mike Schopp is one of the people I would love to meet in a bar and and find out if he is as tough in person as he is behind a microphone. I never understood how a guy who openly hates football and the Bills has a job at a Buffalo sports station.

I put down my deposit last month and was kinda surprised I couldn't do a little better then row 15 on the tunnel end of the 20yrd line. My goal was get as low as possible in upper deck and be on the Bills side.
The lowest row that was available on either side was row 4 in 329. I like row 4, but felt it was too close to the end, past the endzone. Some will say take the visitors side because of the sun, but I truly feel out of place if I am not on the Bills side. I was told 331 will be around the 20-25yrd line and it was the best available at the time. Chris from the Bills ticket office was very cool and patient with me on the phone.
Does anyone on the board sit in this section or near me - 331 row 15???
I live in Charlotte, so most games will be available for sale. My email is Hugebillsfan1@yahoo.com
One last point, if I can buy seasons to support this team while living 600 miles away, so can some of you!!!!!! At this point, I could care less how many games I attend or if some don't get used. It just feels good to have season tickets again.

Congrats! I sat in 331 for 1 season and the seats were pretty good. I like that side of the stadium because you do not have the sun in your face. We were upgraded 2 years ago to section 334 row 8(45 yard line), so keep putting your name in for upgrade every year and you may get lucky. You are definately on the right end of the stadium with the new scoreboard going in at the other end.

I think it could get very entertaining when Willis returns. What are your best sign ideas?
"If you can read this sign...You are smarter than Willis"
"McGahee, more baby mommas than touchdowns"
"Hey Willis, It's 1:00pm, do you know where your kids are?"
(old safety slogan from the 80's I believe)
"Willis, your sperm ran for more than 1000 yards, why can't you?"

Raider fans are delighted he's gone!
Check it out

He sucks!
Can anyone name 3 players on the Raiders that the fans like at this point? When your team is that bad, everyone sucks and nobody is missed on the way out!

I got three years out of my authentic Moulds jersey and just one out of my Spikes. Maybe it's time to do one of those Kelly or Thomas throwbacks!
-
renewed 3 seats.
-
I have just seen one and have seen them on here before....if you decide to NOT renew your season tickets, there is no reason to put it on here...we do not care...if you make the decision to not renew then do it...you do not need to announce it to the world, as we do not care...are you going to let us know when your decide to cancel your cable, netflix subscription, or your cell phone....ok rant over
Couldn't agree more. Unless you have 3 seats in front of my current seats that I can upgrade to, I don't care one bit about your tickets!

I'm a lifelong fan and will always love the Bills but I'm choosing to not give them my money this season. Here's why:
1. "Cash to cap"- makes good financial sense on paper until it's completely contradicted by a reported $23 million dollar contract being awarded to a 2nd tier defensive lineman. It also made no sense to go public with the whole "cash to cap" approach, it basically sent a message to the outside world of "hey, we're poor so don't come here looking for work cuz we can't pay you much" If the Bills wanted to have this approach then that's fine but why tell the entire world about it at a press conference, why not just say that "we will be running our institution in a fiscally responsible manner and we are looking to build a winner"? No other team has complained as much lately about money issues as the Bills and old Ralphie have.
2. The whole Willis fiasco, why the PHUK is Dick Jauron speaking to the media about a potential Willis trade? Who failed to tell him that it's a taboo subject? And why the PHUK did it ever get so public in the 1st place, now there are articles surfacing about him not knowing basic running plays, etc etc. His value is declining each day. I'd venture a guess and say that the Bills will get a 5th rounder for him or they will have to outright release him because if a trade is rejected he certainly won't want to play for the Bills. It will be a total loss.
3. Marv's approach of building a winning team through the draft is very noble but given that it takes 3-5 years to build a great player then the Bills will always be drafting replacements for their unrestricted free agents who want to go play where there is more money. Building a solid core of veteran players seems impossible under this approach.
I write all this in hopes that I am wrong and that all of these "approaches" work out and prove me to be the dumbest poster ever on TBD, I will renew tickets once I feel that this organization is going in the right direction.
You seem like the optimistic, friendly type that will be sorely missed by your section! Bye.

To all the old regulars of this board, ie: Bill in NYC, Mead, End zone crew, Cablelady et al..
Hi guys! missed talking to you, how ya all been doin? I can't believe this forum has 6000+ members!
That's great! Too bad about 5000 or so have nothing to contribute but alot of verbal diarrhea and negative comments about our beloved Marv Levy and founder Ralph Wilson. I find it deplorable that these "johnny come lately" so-called fans of this team have the unmitigated gaul to question either their motives or intentions where the success of this team is concerned. They are probably too young to remember the Kelly, Thurman, Bruce era of football around there and the spirit that encapsulated Buffalo at that time, but I will say to those little pi#$ ants, " No-one wants a championship in Buffalo more than RW, Marv, or Jim Kelly... NO-ONE!" So before you start lipping off about how Ralph's too cheap, Marv's too stupid, and this team is always mediocre every year...Blah! Blah! Blah! Wait till you've earned that place to open your trap! I turned 38 last week, (Thanks for the Birthday message Mead, I got it) That makes me a 28 year fan of these Bills, and when the guys at work tease me about my many Bills caps, jerseys etc. and for being a Bills fan, I smile and say, "Who is going to appreciate a Buffalo Bills Superbowl victory more than a lifelong Bills fan?"
Wow, another "I'm a bigger fan than you" post. I can't believe this board survived without your insight these last few years!
