1. The Diebold DRE voting machines are pathetic and this is not getting nearly enough attention from the media that it deserves.  Ars Technica has made an article entited How to steal an election talking about just how easy it is.

I'd like to highlight some points from this article:

    Jesus F'in Christ.

I think we should focus an the fact that the Dems are pushing for rules that forbid ID requirements at the polls. If you can't or won't show ID at the polls, you are either a criminal, an illegal, or an imposter.

I wonder how many Dems will be pushing this "voter machine aren't reliable" act if they happen to win many elections. That will be the test of the integrity of their argument. Refuse to take office until the results are proven to be correct!

  2. This team is garbage, YET again...what a suprise...and will it get better?  probably not...as the cap escalates faster, the Bills will fall farther and farther behind the NFL.

Jauron to me just does not look like a winner.  Neither does JP, who does not have the intangibles to be a consistent winning QB IMO.

The offense and defense are built for warm weather climates...funny...last time I checked, Buffalo was a cold weather city.

I do not care about NFL Draft projections....about Mort's reaches etc...I do not care about articles in June about how this guy looks good...Jauron has the team going in the right direction etc...I am not reading ANY more articles, posts, anything about this crap Buffalo Bills franchise until they prove it on Sundays...PERIOD.

    Bye.

  3. Look into whole life rather than term life.  A term policy, you pay for it, and after the end of the term you have nothing.  Whole life acts more like an asset; it annuitizes, and you can actually draw against it later in life before you die (e.g. you can borrow $100k against a $500k policy that you've fully paid up).  Whole life costs more than term...but it'll only get more expensive as you get older, and as young as you are you might actually be able to afford it.  I don't know ALL the details - it's been a while since I looked into it - but it's something to at least research.

Or, if you want to go REALLY cheap, just pretend you have life insurance.  Just like you pretend a woman's interested in you.

    817131

Whole life is not a good investment. If you want insurance and an investment, purchase them seperately. You can get much cheaper term insurance and use the $ you save to invest in quality mutual funds. You pay very high expenses and compromise your investment performance if you try to combine your insurance and investments in a whole life policy. I am a Registered Rep and sell both investments and insurance. Whole life pays very high commisions and that is why many reps talk it up.

  4. A complete disdain for anything that has to do with Islam is just one of many reasons why he's making that statement - its an example of American's complete misunderstanding of foreign relations.

    815734

I guess I didn't realize all of America had a "complete disdain for anything that has to do with islam" I work right next to a huge mosque, looks like they have been doing ok in our evil country! Many nice cars and clothes.

It is ok that Muslims blanket the U.S as a nation of racists because of the action of the few, but we should not consider their religion evil because of the action of the few? Seems to be a double standard there! Some Americans are racist and some muslims are terrorists, it doesn't justify attacking random Americans or random muslims.

Personally I don't care what other countries think of the U.S. as long as they fear the repercussions of attacking us. As long as we are the greatest, richest, most powerfull country in the world, we will not be well liked by most unsuccesfull countries. It is easier to blame your failures on someone else than to take responsibility and fix them.

  5. He didn't reference the dubai port issue because of an "apparently anti-islam attitude".

    815701

Ever since the Dubai Ports World issue basically confirmed that America actually does have the anti-Arab, anti-Islam, racist, xenophobic attitude that Islamic fundamentalists accuse us of having, it's been impossible for me to see America as an innocent victim of terrorism.  And it isn't exactly a giant leap from that to "America deserves it".

Please explain to me then what he meant by the quote above. Looks to me like he used the Dubai Port issue to show America's "anti-islamic attitude" as a reason why we deserve to be attacked!

  6. No, I said America deserves to be attacked because Americans are stupid.  For example: they lack simple reading comprehension skills.

    815617

No, you actually refferenced the Dubai Port issue and the apparent anti-islam attitude of America as justification for your "we deserve to be attacked" argument. Before questioning the intelligence of others, you should work on your own reading comprehension skills.

  7. I really don't see where you get that from Tom's statements but I don't know how much processing power a chicken wing has ;)

    815451

I'll try to explain it so even you can understand...He is saying that America deserves to be attacked because we have displayed anti-islam sentiment. Based on that, you could just as easily say that any country that displays anti-American sentiment deserves to be attacked by the U.S.A. It really doesn't seem that difficult, but I DO know much processing power a meazza has and that may explain it.

  8. I'm just surprised anyone actually got it, frankly.

Though I do honestly feel more strongly than you implied in your post.

    815015

By that same logic, we should feel free to bomb and attack every country that displays anti-American sentiment because they deserve it too.

  9. Two more weeks until fat GOP congressional pig Tom "Sweatin' like Nixon" Reynolds is purged from the 26th congressional district of NY. This pile of bacon fat has done absolutely nothing for WNY, almost lost are Base in the Falls and did nothing for Delphi workers and is in the hip pocket of the pharm companies.

    All together WNY:

    "Happy days are here again......"

    815260

Hopefully Dem Comptroller Alan "why should I spend my own cash" Hevesi follows him out the door. Why are the Dem crusaders not crying up a storm about this controversy and calling for resignations? After all it is the party of conscience and lawfullness?

  10. Or Daniel Briere.  Or Henrik Tallinder (captain of the Swedish junior team at one point).  Or Teppo Numminen.  Or any of their young players who've shown leadership in the juniors or minors (Roy, Novotny, Gaustad, etc.).

The Sabres built their entire roster around character players.  They draft that way.  It makes a difference.

    810317

You mean the Tallinder who got kicked off his national team 2 years ago for gang molesting a girl?

  11. The number of people on here who are anti-Canadian appalls me.....I don't understand it and it really pisses me off....fuggin ignorance!!

    810088

Almost as ignorant as all the Canadians who are anti-American, including many of their elected officials!

  12. Yup, you got me...I'm trying to appear deep while talking Bills football. Get a clue

    809147

Forgive me, I thought analyzing a players attitude and commitment to the city was getting a little deeper than "I only like winners". Perhaps if you knew anything about the players you speak so poorly of, you might be taken seriously.

  13. If I criticize the Bills for any number of reasons such as the coaching staff, the players or the management, I am immediately called an idiot. I must be stupid. After all, just look at all the wins the Bills have accumulated over the last seven years. All of the AFC East titles and playoff berths won.

How dare I criticize? We are rebuilding, right? Rebuilding for seven LONG years. Be patient, you ask? Marv & Dick just got started. Give them a chance. Sure, I'll be patient, it's not like a team can win the Super Bowl one year after going 5 & 11 (cough, cough, the St. Louis Rams). No way you can compete a year after sucking. The Rams, Ravens and Saints of 2006-07 are an aberition.

So from now and on, I vow to change. When I see something that appears to be crappy football I'll just think how great a team this is and post crap like we're gonna beat the Pats or Bears. How about JP Losman? His offensive line is to blame for bad screen passes and high passes that leave his receivers out-stretched and vulnerable to a huge hit. How 'bout when the Bills get the ball towards the end of the game with a chance to either tie or win and then inevitably screw it up? I'll just brush it off as a learning experience because you learn so much from losing. Everybody knows that. And when we lose a game to the Bears, it's okay, because they are a great team or when we lose to the Lions because they suck so bad and are so dangerpous because they haven't won yet and that we will have a better chance against New England.

I can always go the popular route and blame the guys all of you intelligent people blame. Like Nate Clements, he really sucks. Ruben Brown, just look at all his penalties, we really gotta get him out of here. Bennie Anderson, he can't be no worse than Tucker, can he? Drew Bledsoe, anybody can to better than Drew.

Let me sum this all up.

Criticize the Bills + The Bills eventually sucking again and missing the playoffs for yet another year = I'm an idiot.

                                                        OR

Saying stuff like the Bills are great + losing season after losing season = I'm intelligent.

    809802

Just so we are all clear...It's OK for you to criticize people, but not OK for others to criticize you?

  14. I believe that the players that the Bills have on their team are about as disconnected to this city as I can ever remember. Take a look at our "star" players and and the attitudes they hold.

Spikes WAS the one guy who I thought could bring this team together but who even knows if he will ever be the same player (mentally and physically). Losman has not even convinced me that he is starting QB in this league. McGahee (and enough with the top 5 in yards talk) represents the Bills as much as Rob Johnson did when he was here. The only guy that I see maximum effort from every week is Donte Whitner

Until there is a serious attitude adjustment with these guys (coach included) they will continue to swim with the rest of the garbage in the bottom 5 of the NFL.

Until that happens, I will be more than happy to put my $$ where you get every damn cent worth down at the HSBC. If the Bills were 0-6 but showed tremendous effort every week, I would not even be writing this right now. I have sat through many a crappy season as a season ticket holder and never felt so far from this team as I have the past year and a half.

    808799

I'm so sick of people trying to create a competition between the Sabres and Bills. I support both, if you are unable to, stop bothering us Bills fans. I hear you really get your money's worth on the Sabre chat boards. I bet you have a problem with a guy like Willis living in Florida for the off-season, but are fine with half the Sabres not even living in this country full time. You connect to winning, do not try to appear deeper than you really are.

  15. Did I write something illegal? When did you get your board moderator license? Can you publish a list of what not to think and write?

Willis #5, Maroney #25?  Hoorah!!! and great comparison i might add.  Willis, 6 games, Maroney, 5.  Willis 3.9 YPC, Maroney, 4.3 YPC.  I may be mistaken, but,  this ain't golf so Maroney trumps Willis in YPC.  If Willis is your man, fine.  I like to reach a little higher though.

    808917

You didn't write something illegal, just very stupid.

  16. I've had my 50'' SXRD for about 8 months now... I'm still in awe of the picture.

Did you get the newer one with the speakers on the bottom, or the one with the speakers on the side?

    802838

I have the one with the speakers on the sides. There was a good deal on it at Rowe photo in Rochester. I know it is last years model, but I saved about $500 from the newer model from what I saw in most stores. The new one (without the speakers on the side) does not have PIP either.

  17. Wow, that sounds rough.  I have a 2-tuner DTV TiVo set up now and I think the menus are a bit slow, but tolerable since I almost always watch recorded shows and rarely browse.  Because of this, watching real-time is nearly too painful to bear, so I do pause what I'm watching to let it buffer, and flip to the other tuner to line up something else.  It sounds like this is exactly what you're trying and it won't let you.  You're not saying you can't switch to the other tuner, just that the first one doesn't stay paused, right?

    802974

I don't see a way to switch back and forth unless you are recording both shows. I lose all previous content after switching channels. Even when recording both shows, you cannot pause one and go back to it later. The pause stops after you change channels. This probably would not be a big deal if I wasn't so used to watching two shows at once and flipping back and forth. It seems that the box I got is really new and they have not worked the bugs out. I can't imagine they would set it up this way on purpose.

  18. I am seriously considering upgrading to HD, including HD DVR next month.  I was eying the Sony LCD ("Bravia").

What's your beef with the DTV HD DVR?

    802602

It is missing some of the features that my Tivo box had. I cannot skip back and forth between the two tuners while watching two shows. I used to be able to pause one show and switch to another. It is much less user friendly. Maybe I will get used to it. The antenna jack does not work. when I called DTV, I was told they should have the issue fixed by December. It also does not record shows that it thinks I might like...Tivo knew me so well!

  19. Come on man, don't you know there are those of us out here dying to know what you got???? Projector? Plasma? Flat screen LCD? Rear projection? WHAT?? :)   ;)  :w00t:

    802151

I got a Sony 50' SXRD LCD. I'm just getting it tweaked to pefection now. I have to say that I am in awe of this picture! The only disapointment is the new Directv hd dvr box. It is horrible compared to my old tivo box. I guess Directv is not using Tivo anymore, they are attempting to market their own dvr. My harmony 880 remote won't control the box either, I think it is too new and they don't have all the codes yet. Hopefully that will be updated soon.
