1. global warming....

    it is a natural process.

we are contributing pollutants which has and is slightly increasing the earths natural global warming process.

volcanoes and fires produce more pollution than man. (thats why its a natural process).

the ice caps will not melt over a 2 day span. sea level is rising but it will take a long time for all of antartica to melt (as they show in teh video)...

global warming did not cause the destruction in N.O., a huricane did. and we always get hurricanes that time of year.

you can slightly decrease global warming by decreasing human added pollutants, but you can NOT stop global warming because as i said, it is normal. you can stop using coal as a source of power, but will china stop using it? you can tell billions of people in other countries to stop burning wood to cook and clear forests with, but who are we to tell another countries people what to do.... (but some how they can tell us...).

the #1 contributer of air pollutants in the US is our CARS. if you want to really decrease the human added pollutants, stop using gas powered cars. but that will not happen.

if we stop using coal as a source of power we have to replace that power with something. i beleive 40% of all the power in the US is generated by coal power plants. i would like to see where we are going to get the power from.

we are advanced and have lots of money and technology, but a clean, reliable, and abundant power source is far from a reality.

global warming is not a "we are all going to die in 5 years unless we do something NOW" type of situation.

smog pollution in cities is a bigger problem right now, but noone seems to care about that.

our dependency on gasoline is also a bigger problem.

but if gore runs, i am going to vote for him.

    696594

I would rather see Hillary's and Diane Fienstein's secret sex tape than see Gore as President!

  2.

I certainly hope that Gore rode his bike while "criss-crossing the country to deliver his message" Yet another idiot celebrity/politician who lives in a big house (or houses) that require lots of heating and cooling and travels the world in first class style, but bitches about the guy who chooses to drive a pickup or SUV. How come none of these bigshots want a law limiting the square footage of houses? Oh that's right, it might affect their own lifestyle!

I'd like to pose a challenge to Gore. If he can use less fuel than a truck driving redneck like me for one year, I'll agree that manbearpig exists. If he uses more fuel than an average American, he can shut the hell up!

  3. Donuts, wings and a kegger at 6 a.m. It all took place during a four-year blur I like to call "the college years."

For some reason I just heard Joe Cocker singing "Get By With A Little Help From My Friends" and Kevin Arnold's mysterious adult voice narrating.

  4. You know what I don't understand? How, at 6:30 a.m., I can read through this (and other) threads, look at your avatar, and try to figure out what could possibly be wrong with having a dozen wings for breakfast.

    694588

As long as you put a little orange juice in your beer, there is absolutely nothing wrong with wings for breakfast!

  5. I really don't understand how anyone could possibly watch an hour of this show. It is painfull to listen to this retard yell everything. Willis may be the dumbest guy I have ever listened to next to Stephen Smith. Willis comes across as totally uninterested in football and the Bills in general. All of this is irrelevant of course if he can gain 1500 yards and score some touchdowns.

God willing, Quite Frankly will join the Magic Hour as a bad memory of sports figures failing at talk shows.

  6. Wow thanks for pointing out one gramatical error for me.  I am a better person for it.  You must be proud.  I didn't realize that mistakingly leaving one letter out of a word made a sentence incoherent.

    690747

    Mistakingly???

  7. It seems to me there are two separate actions being taken by WM abd judgments to be made on them by Bills fans.

    1. What has his production been?

    A. Over 1200 yards gained last year (making him the fastest Bill ever to gain 2000 yards which I have noted several times includes faster to this point than OJ or Thurman)

    B. 28 receptions last year an improvement over 22 the year before but this number came with him appearing in more games.

    C. 5 TDs last year which was a steep drop-off from 12 the year before achieved in fewer games.

    D. His rushing avg/carry at 3.8 was last among the top 10 (though 5 or 6 of the guys ahead of him where at 4.3 or lower).

Overall, on the face of it the numbers have some things  being better than what has been achieved historically and some not comparing favorably with other top 10 rushing backs in the NFL in yards gained though as a base level of achievement he finished 10th in thenFL in yards gaine.  Folks can feel about these numbers how they feel.

2, What are Bills fans reactions?

Most seem disatisfied overall with the Bills W/Ls last year, but in regards to WM's production, they seem to judge it as downright stupid for folks to ignore the positives because of the "negatives" (if you want to call merely being the 10th best RC in the NFL a negative).

WM's production last year was extremely good in the first half of the season when his production numbers ranked in the top 3 or so in the NFL, but they tailed off considerably and were a big rxpression of out O falling apart.

However, given the crappy play of the OL and the general playcalling failings leading to TC getting canned and other facets of the O which did not rely upon WM also falling apart, it would seem the height of blame shopping to try to blame all this on him.

This year will tell us more as with a new OC and a new system the O continues to lag and the fault seems to be on WM for some tangible reasons (a lot of fumbles, dropped passes, or him repetitively getting stopped short of the goaline) then a better case might be made that he is to blame.

However, his improvement in raw # of receptions while this did not become a featured part of his game seems to indicate a failure in the playcalling to pass to him enough.  The drop-off in TDs seems to be led by the O playcalling falling apart rather than some WM issue being the primary cause (if not what happened to his running style and ability that he dropped from 12 to 5 TDs).  MW and Campbell were cut and Teague allowed to walk so their play must have something to do with this if we are blame shopping.

The bottomline here is that I think on a raw achievement level finishing 10th in yardage gained rushing and getting their at a younger age that past Bills greats is not bad. What seems to be going on here was that some fans had unrealistic expectations that this #23 choice would perform like the best RB in the NFL rather than the 10th best.

It seems that in answer to the question of this thread of what should we do, based on the football the answer clearly seems to be wait and see how he does this year in a new framework.  If he produces more like the RB who scored 12 TDs in a partial season or laid the groundwork for some still quite impressive rushing numbers then we are golden on the field. If instead he continues on as "merely" the 1-th best RB in the NFL the braintrust needs to think seriously about  augmenting his play with a credible #2 who is a threat in and of himself and who pushes WM.

Oh yeah... there are also some fans who get their enjoyment from the game by following off the field soap operas as closely as they follow on the field play.  My advice is that there seem to be few percentages and little value in the soap opera side of the NFL, but to each their own.

Certainly if a players off field antics negatively impact their on field play this is a problem.  Howevr, my advice is that whether its the NFL promoting its QB Club to pretend to be better people than they likely are or WMs assinine comments about fathering children and not taking responsibility for them, just ignore this crap and enjoy the game.

WM seems to be an idiot to get pregnant by so my advice to Boondocks and other soap opera concerned individuals is do not sleep or have sex with Willis. You almost certainly will avoid getting impregnated by him.

Am I the only one who scrolls through long drawn out posts without reading them? This could be the most intelligent thing ever written, but I will never know because I don't go on a chat board to read a novel. If I could get the cliffs notes I would really appreciate it.

  8. Goodness me.  The Democrats are leading by double-digits for the midterm elections and the wheels continue to come off on this inept administration.  People have finally either figured out that the emporer has no clothes, or are no longer afraid of the FBI/CIA/DHS/ whoever and are finally speaking out.

Now is the time for all loyal neocons to swallow some more Kookaid (yes I said KOOKaid) and come the aid of their God-annointed leader.  Any and all wedge issues should be submitted immediataly!

    Gay Marriage?

    Illegal Aliens?

    Flag Burning?

    Intelligent Design?

etc...I just can't wait to see what all y'all come up with!

Were these polls the same ones that predicted a big win by Kerry? If so us Republicans should be dancing in the streets.

  9. Take away the clause that states that ANYONE born here is a citizen by birth. Stipulate that at least ONE of the parents must be an American citizen. That stops two problems, the first being that it takes away the incentive for mexicans (or any illegals for that matter) to have children here in order that they might gain citizenship for themselves in the future and secondly, it keeps the overall cost of healthcare down in this country.

    688258

Or we could set up a guest birthing program that rewards you for every hour spent in labor. 5 or more hours and your kid is a citizen. Any less and you have to pay a fine.

  10. Except that this time...well, it's the flu.  A proven illness-causing virus with a history of severe pandemics.

People assume it's something new and special because it's the "bird flu".  All flus are bird flus.  It's where they come from.  The flu's natural resivoir is in birds.  Occasionally, flu viruses mutate and recombine (or "are intelligently redesigned", if you're a religious simpleton), and become new flu viruses.  Sometimes they jump to pigs and recombine again into even newer flu viruses that can infect humans.  Then you get pandemics.  Sometimes the pandemics are deadly.  And the current "avian flu" virus has shown an alarming propensity for killing people...but none for transmission from person-to-person.  Eventually, it'll recombine into a form that does transmit person-to-person.  Then we'll have a pandemic.  And given how deadly it is already, it's not unreasonable to believe the pandemic will kill lots of people worldwide, just like the last time it happened.

That ain't hype, that's science.  People who know the science are concerned - which is substantially different from "panicking".  (The media's panicking...but panic sells.  The media's full of sh--, again, but they're making money at it, so what do they care.)  People who know the science won't panic until they actually see a case of airborne transmission and retransmission between humans.

The rest of you, though...you can panic.  It's what the media wants you idiots to do...

    684379

I understand that scientists and medics should be working to prevent the possible spread of the flu, but can we prevent the average hypochondriac on the street from hearing about this until it is really necessary? (obviously not realistic) There is much more danger in the panic provoked through irresponsible journalism than most of the pandemic/environmental tragedies that are "only a matter of time". A lot of people don't seem to realize that the chance of a pandemic is very small. Scientists and the Medical fields prepare for almost all possibilities, the general public can hold off on purchasing air tight bubbles to live in!

  11. Brian Billick was just on the NFL network saying how much they like the addition of Mike Bannan from Buffalo. Welcome to the team, maybe I'll learn your name after minicamp! Did Justin change his name in an effort to get a new start?

  12. I could see two outcomes from this "Day Without Document Challenged People".

    1. They succeed in harming the economy and shutting down many cities. Citizens get angry and realize that the illegals are willing to screw this country and it's legal citizens to get whet they want. The backlash leads to much greater support for getting rid of the illegals.

    2. No real effect on the economy or daily lives of the citizens. People realize that enforcing immigration laws will not lead to the total collapse of our economy. Taxes go down due to the lighter load on our healh care system, schools, social services, etc.

    Either way the U.S.A. wins.

  13. Why earn your Citizenship and the respect of Americans when you can simply demand it through protest. If they succeed in scaring the American citizens with millions of people marching and the threat of crippling the economies of these cities, people will realize that they need to be stopped before our country is overrun by Illegals who don't respect our citizens or laws. The majority of these protesters are not the timid farmworkers just trying to earn a living that are portrayed on t.v. These protesters are taking advantage of us and will not make decent citizens. We have enough of an entitlement crowd in this country already.

  14. The American Chamber's Humberto Banuelos conceded that starting salaries for unskilled workers at U.S. companies usually are Mexico's minimum wage of $4.35 a day. While many workers earn more, such as seamstresses who on average make $5.89 a day - even these wages pale in comparison to paychecks offered by the same companies north of the border.

A cashier at Subway (or "sandwich artist," as the company refers to them) earns about $189 a month in Mexico City. In Colorado, Subway cashiers make four times that - $824.

Companies also often hire workers for three-month periods to avoid paying health insurance or other benefits, activists say.

"Yes, we are aware that they are the largest employers in the Mexican republic, but they are paying crumbs," said Martha Suarez Cantu, coordinator of Alianza Braceroproa, a Mexican labor-rights group helping organize the boycott.

If the U.S. business community and Washington are serious about stemming illegal immigration, they should invest in economic development in Mexico, Suarez said.

I think the answer is obvious now! Mexicans in the U.S. should no longer be allowed to earn more than $4.35 a day.

  15. I agree pretty much with what you guys are saying except that if society grows around another language... So be it... Nowhere does it say English is the official language... If the Spanish population over takes this society... I would expect Spanish to become dominant...

Basically if you are in the minority or become the minority, the majority will set the pace... Right now it is English... Other languages shouldn't be a burden on society... But, if they grow and become dominant without BEING A BURDEN... So be it.

Change and adaptability is certain... Society can only grow better...

    669050

Would you see a problem if America exported our unemployed to a south American country and forcibly took over the country? If you think forcing employers, Government offices, Doctors offices, etc to cater to the Spanish speaking population isn't a burden, you are nuts. When an immigrant group sues and protests and threatens to harm our economy with walk-outs, they have officially become a burden!
