  1. I agree with Pyrite that there is an enormous difference between building a team and drafting for value. In the past, if we needed to pull a stump, the obvious choice would be to draft a big ol diesel truck. But if there was a Ferarri still on the board, well then that was too good to pass up. Eventually you have 4 Ferrarri's sitting in the garage, you only drive 2 of them and your stump is still in the ground. I like the direction the club is taking and I am cautiously optimistic for what the next several seasons hold.
  2. I think there is no way you can even consider cutting Moorman, At 6'0 and 175 he the prototype punter for our new cover 2 system
  3. does anyone know Afinogenov's 40? I'm guessing somewhere right around -2.3
  4. Dolphins | Dolphins Owner Sues The Producers of "The Longest Yard" Tues, 16 May 2006 10:06:42 Wayne Huizenga has filed a motion in the Dade County Federal Court seeking punitive damages for copyright infringement on the producers of the movie "The Longest Yard". Huizenga was quoted as saying "As an organization, we have taken great pride in scouring the globe for the best talent cocaine can buy. We have a well established history of using convicted felons to field a football team. Neither the directors or producers sought our consent for the production of this film. Our distinguished and well-practiced legal team has counseled us to go forward with these proceedings."
  5. Was he? or was he a nice guy. Big difference, seemed like a guy you wouldn't mind dating your daughter or havingin in your circle of friends, but I highly doubt his work ethic or lack of passion for the game inspired any of his teammates.
  6. So what happens if Tampa and Jacksonville scrimmage in camp? I'm thinking ballboy deathmatch and the loser gets Williams
  7. Mark it down, Gibson is my Dark Horse
  8. Bucs | Williams saga continues Tue, 3 May 2006 13:06:42 -0700 (AP)The office of Governor Jeb Bush has just faxed the following press release to the North Florida office to clear up speculation: "Due to the rampant rumors circulating regarding Mr. Michael Williams we would like shed some light on the situation for those affected. Approximately a Month ago, the Jaguars signed Mr. Williams to their respective ball club. Not long after, our local geological survey team indicated that the entire state of Florida began listing to the Atlantic side. The condition continued to worsen the longer Mr. Williams was in Jacksonville until we lost almost 300 miles of shoreline. In an effort to level the state back off, every other month Mr. Williams will alternate between Jacksonville on the east coast and Tampa on the west coast so that the entire state does not capsize. Thank you for your time"
  9. I'm with you on that one, we may have to dig deeper into this controversy because there he is on my Bills calendar for the month of May.......
  10. Texans | Reasons for passing on Bush Tue, 3 May 2006 09:06:42 -0700 Nick Rogers of the Houston Daily Chronicle, reports the Houston Texans passed on Reggie Bush due to the rising fuels costs nationwide. "We just felt that with Gas shooting above $3.10 a gallon that Mario Williams would be the better player for this organization" said current Texans coach George Allen.
  11. Coach Flutie: You ran the play wrong QB: What did I do wrong coach Coach Flutie: You weren't born a Flutie, I'm better than you son, step aside
  12. Mike Williams walks into a bar......nevermind he can't squeeze through the door so he blows through the wall like the koolaid guy and goes OH YEA, the power of Crisco
  13. Consider this a mercy kill..... Crayonz, no matter who the player is in the draft, the last pick in the draft is always dubbed Mr. Irrelevant, had the world as we know it exploded, and Reggie Bush was the last player drafted, he would then become Mr. Irrelevant. BANG
  14. Of course the Bills will actually have to practice outdoors this year for the weather to be an advantage
  15. I'm more concerned with the notion of spending to the Salary Cap.....in years past it's been how much cap room do we have left....it is now looking like that is a non-issue as the team will not even spend to the allowable ceiling for players....that is not a good sign for competitive balance
  16. I was reading all the stories about the CBA, the economic viability of the Buffalo region, the revenue sharing qualifiers, and the impending doom of the Buffalo Bills. I have to admit, this really toned down my otherwise cheerful mood. Then I looked outside, realized that winter was really over, and it was in the 60's and sunny. This gave me a new perspective. What is the true nature of the Bills and Buffalo? Is it the player, or the jersey? Is it the team itself or the notion of competing on the nations favorite stage. Is it winning and losing or tailgating and being entertained? The collective mood of an entire region depends on the right arm of a kid who grew up in Venice Beach, and a RB who would just assume collect his check and retreat to his palm trees. It's sad that domestic violence in the area goes up after a Bills loss. So what exactly is it that the Bills really mean to Buffalo? To me it's throwin steaks on the grill, a cooler full of Blue, 5 really good friends and a football game. It's not about a bunch of imported millionaires with a "blue collar work ethic" whose Range Rover's join the parade of Cavaliers and Taurus's on Abbot road a few hours after the lights go out. I wouldn't say I identify myself with the Bills or that the Bills identify Buffalo. I doubt that Nate Clements would ring me up for a post game party at his place. Takeo Spikes rehabs waiting for the moment to run out of the tunnel to hear people scream his name.....but if they were yelling it in Carolina or Dallas I doubt his workouts would be any less intense. Just like E Moulds is ecstatic about the chance to "put on a show" for Texans fans, the NFL is about gratification for the moment, and for the individual. The NFL is about getting paid, no matter the color of your jersey or which "greatest fans in the league" pack the stands beneath the luxury boxes. No matter how much we remember the "glory days" and romanticize the league, nothing can change the path of a corporation no long bound by the rules on which it was founded. I'm a season ticket holder, but the games will no longer be about the 11 men on the field, it's about the 72,000 people that surround it. Just like everyone else, I'll yell, and I'll get excited when (if) the Bills win, but it will all be within context now. I'll still follow the roster moves, and watch the draft, but I won't toss and turn if JP hurls that crucial interception. I'll buy my tickets if they go 16-0 or 2-14, but my cake won't taste any sweeter with either scenerio. I realize that I don't love the Bills as much as I love the experience that only 30 something cities get to experience. I just wanted to share my thoughts about what I think the league really is and why I believe that the only name on the Wall of Fame that really matters is the one that reads 12th Man.
  17. A chinese man goes into the bank to exchange his yen for dollars, He hands the banker his yen and he receives his money. The next day he brings more yen back to the banker and receives a different amount. The chinese man says: "how come I bring you 100 yen both yesterday and today, but you give me different amount now?" The banker replies, Fluxuations. The chinese man looks at him and grows angry...."fluck you white guys too".
  18. No way do you even consider touching this guy in the draft....he's the classic lose all motivation once that check hits.......if he can't be bothered to work hard to even better his own situation in the draft, what makes you think he'll care about doing what's best for the team? Maurice Clarett without the rap sheet. Too many people telling him how good he is and not enough people telling him to get it in gear. This is a case where being too talented made it come too easy.....he could get by on pure talent and physical gifts against college players.
  19. There were countless stories that came out about Flutie's me first attitude....it's like he was shunned for so many years in the CFL that he decided that any return to the NFL would be just about him and recouping any of the money he failed to earn over the previous decade. You know that the paycheck is 95% of why he's even still in the league. He would have no interest in tutoring a young QB.
  20. The NFL will no longer exist in my house
  21. If they had quantum physics on the friggen test I would score better than a 16 if I could take it twice
  22. Name: and it was the only question he answered correctly on the Wonderlic
