  1. But if you give him 10 Million in base salary the first year then that's guaranteed money he'll be getting....same as a signing bonus just not spread out to screw us 4 years from now
  2. Now with most of the top free agents off the market (not counting the June 1 cuts) would it be feasible to give Nate Clements a huge first year salary number as opposed to giving him a bonus that gets pro-rated out over the life of the deal. If you give Nate say 10 million for this season and a 5 million dollar signing bonus then you could have base salaries down around 3-4 million for the rest of the deal. Just a thought I had....
  3. Exactly what's needed around here!!!! GO BILLS
  4. I think this right here shoots you down my friend....the very thing JP posesses is talent, that's what makes it such a maddening game of russian roulette. The question is harnessing that talent into football knowledge and recongition. If you have ever listened to Marv or Dick Jauron the first thing they talk about is the tremendous talent JP has, it's getting him to develop the intangibles that will be either his golden ticket or his downfall. I hope you think you're right because that is the very idea about having an opinion, you think you're right. I, like many, disagree. If you consider his first year being muddled by injury as a legitimate year of progression in his career then you have not been around sports on a collegiate level or higher. If watching tape and being around the team is considered progression then the quality control coach was just as ready to be named starter after the first season as JP was.
  5. Must be a well informed source to use "probably" and "may be" in their quotes. Sounds like random speculation to me.
  6. I actually haven't signed yet
  7. I'm not sold on the idea that there was a lot of O-Line talent to be had in this portion of free agency. I like the idea of Wells and I really wanted Neal, but other than that there wasn't anything that I felt was an achievable upgrade. I'm very interested in the draft and maybe what happens with the June 1 cuts. I really wanted Neal though.
  8. I definetly agree......when the temps start to drop...McGahee looks less and less inclined to take on anybody....he plays like he hates the cold
  9. I say we just trade E Moulds to Atlanta for Rod Coleman straight up....or maybe Richard Seymour
  10. Thats why you give him a contract full of performance incentives....if he can't come back to his form then he gets a little over base....if he performs then he gets his $
  11. What's the harm in offering a contract full of performance incentives.....Walker wasn't a malcontent his whole time in GB either, he reached Pro Bowl level and asked for a long term deal to be worked out, and got blasted by the franchise quarterback who was pulling down almost 10 million a season for it. He then proceeds to blow his knee out without any long-term security and is bitter against the team that wouldn't negotiate a new deal that he deserved. His only problem was working with Rosenhaus, who he has since replaced. He asked to renegotiate his deal...got denied and showed up for the first practice. I think this guy would be a tremendous pickup at a price the Bills can afford for a potential difference maker on the field.
  12. 13. "We're exploring an opportunity for Eric to play for the Texans," said Greg Johnson, one of Moulds' representatives. "If all sides can see eye to eye, we'll make it happen." Boy it sounds like Moulds really is all about finishing his career with a winner and not just about making the dough
  14. I'll take John Elway
  15. ok so Moulds stays with the Bills but refuses to play so the Bills don't have to pay him...and by this point all the free agents are gone.........so what do you do?? I say you give Nate Clements some huge 1st year base salary of like 10-11 million that way you have room to work the following years because he has gotten his payday and you can make the following years much more cap friendly. This way you're not prorating a huge bonus out over the life of the contract and you have a top tier corner for around 3 million a season after that......just a thought
  16. I agree.....couldn't have said it better myself
  17. I agree......you get a 220 pound safety running a 4.4 and a 200 pound receiver running a 4.4 and you have them collide....that's a lot of impact.....plus...I'd be willing to bet TKO and Fletch have about 7% body fat on them. Fat has nothing to do with cushioning the impact of a hit.
  18. The part about staying on the field and not getting injured i'm onboard with.....but the part about being too fit to be able to absorb hits....you def lost me with that one......take any of the speed guys and apply this theory....I bet Moulds has Body fat under 6%....McGahee is very fit.....Lee Evans.....there's no way that theory holds any water whatsoever.
  19. I really am torn on this issue....I think it's safe to say that QB's who make it to the elite level of the NFL never let their studies get in the way of their game (there may be several exceptions). What I'm getting at is when they get to the real world NFL and have to earn their keep as opposed to just being an elite talent among guys who will be going 9-5 for the rest of their lives a natural maturation process occurs. They learn how to learn from good coaches and Veterans. While scoring a 6 or whatever Young scored is rediculous for an adult human being, something in the teens can be worked with. I just really believe that a reality check in the NFL as well as the desire to hang onto that check with all those zeros after it make the player become much more of a student than they ever were coming out of college.
  20. Well I can't argue with your logic...I just hope he doesn't walk for free
  21. Except his representative said Eric has no interest in playing for Buffalo even at his current salary.....
  22. If he can teach Duke to press 225 46 times then maybe....he is a pure example of just brute strength as the key to his success
  23. Neal is an UFA and can go where he pleases http://www.nfl.com/freeagency/afc-unrestricted
  24. Could you imagine if the Bills went on a tear this year and E Moulds was somewhere else.....the guy would prob hang himself
  25. Grady's 33 with 10 years in the league
