  1. No you don't need the devil, just a big sh#t eating grin.
  2. Yep, can't help it if he is another Palin intellectual exposed as all hat and no cattle... oh that was Bush and he actually appears like he has learned something in the last 8 years, hmm.
  3. ? The moving rate has been reported to have dramatically slowed, what if any effect other then velocity does this have on liquidity? P.S. I have appreciated you insight in the last few posts. Learned a lot, thanks. So far my credit hasn't lessened, in fact Chase just approved me for a pre-approved card.
  4. Yep, still have my campaign button... Quayle...just a heartbeat away, Just keep George Alive! with a heart beat logo embedded behind it.
  5. Performance no, but confidence that affected performance, yes. We used to track, in fact I made a chart at one point for the floor of the US Senate titled "Bush talks Consumer Confidence Drops." I tracked stats after Bush opened his mouth in the first year of Presidency on the economy, something bad followed economically and consumer confidence fell in the next day or two. It was uncanny. Not saying anything had anything directly to do with the other. Made for good PR, but when he kept his mouth shut for a while there seemed to be a recovery. Agreed, the current situation has its roots in a couple of things, the vestiges of 911 as it relates to consumer attitudes, cheap easy money to buy houses and other stuff and the cost of the war on the economy. It hasn't helped that Congress and the President has increased the bureaucracy ten fold since Clinton left office and Tom Delay retired.
  6. Yes, McCain has missed a lot of opportunities, has struggled with his talking points and his biggest problem has been selling the empty vision thing without any new specifics. Also, Palin while initially inspiring the right wing hasn't been able to have enough knowledge of national politics to hit the talk show circuit effectively. Even when she is able to talk, she can't because they are shoving so much at her right now to make up for this lack of knowledge that she comes across as a blithering idiot. She should never claim to be more than she is and could have avoided a lot of these problems acting studios and taken a different even self-deprecating tack on such questions. We know she isn't an experienced Washington policy maker, but man has she been effectively neutralized by her struggles. Clinton taught us you have deal with them head on. McCain et al has not, Obama has. You may not like the answers or believe them, but he has addressed them.
  7. Oh Please, it was worse in 2000 when Bush was elected... 911 just sped up the process, but consumer confidence and the economy started its slide after the first Bush Budget.
  8. Yeh and your screen name is a Sarah Palin parody...
  9. The most sobering thought I have seen expressed on this board. : :blink:cry:
  10. Dumbass and why the school district hasn't fired him yet? Got to go through due process, even scumbags are protected by Union agreements.
  11. Please, O'Reilly just wasted our time. Nice, didn't even factually talk about the facts, he just brow beat Frank. Now that was a useless exchange and O'Reilly came across as a raving lunatic. Frank wasn't great either, but it was a yelling argument and if I was on I would have criticized O'Reilly for wasting our time with his pathetic political discussions.
  12. Don't argue that one, Clinton won, but the party took a big hit. Needed it and Republican incompetence needed to be made crystal clear. Bush and the Republican Congress did this for the American public. But the Dems took a big hit in 2000.
  13. Pretty much. Similar bill, probably has some more legal tweaks we haven't heard about yet.
  14. P.S. That $49 million is for AK fisherman, wonder how Palin feels about the pork for her state? but it could benefit Palin's husband... Conflict of interest, I wonder. However, sounds like a Stevens amendment... we had to provide him with crop insurance for wild Salmon??? in order to get him to support a change in a provision in the law on specialty crops,
  15. Wrong, the proposal was an outline of 3 or 4 pages wrong. Referencing all the previous law and changes that outline causes creates at least 3-400 pages. This is a B.S. statement. The rest I agree with but frame it right.
  16. My biggest problem is RW spending priorities. I want to have a fiscally conservative government with liberal spending priorities and tax policy. Too much to wish for.
  17. I don't mind divided government and it seems to work better when the Democrats have the WH, but it worked best when the President had line item veto, kept Pork down to a dull roar. Seems like when the GOP has the WH, they seem to compete with Dems on who can spend more, and the other way around when the Dems have the WH and the GOP has Congress.
  18. So admittedly, I fell asleep watching a high school football game in ESPN, Dematha against Good Council. I get it that Palin didn't sound quite so bad. Morning Joe had Pat Buchanan saying he is love again, whatever, and that Biden didn't screw up, won on substance and didn't talk down to her, but appeared at times he was walking on egg shells and she won on personality. How is that for a run on sentence.... Yet in reading the posts here, you get the idea that Biden was inept and Palin was a deer in headlights that didn't know anything about Constitutional power or wanted more formal power for the vp... scary enough in itself. Hmmm. My Conclusion: So the debate really didn't mean much on this board.
  19. What is the old quote about him, he talks at 70mph with occasional 100mph bursts.
  20. Now a days you can just use an adobe product (Indesign) import some photoshop or illustrator graphics and ftp it to an online print service. Heckuv a lot cheaper.
  21. Don't confuse us with facts or a good Republican Fux Spews character assassination. Please. Sounds like PBS wanted its anchors to write serious academic style dissertations one recent political trends.
  22. Yep, this debate will be about do no damage, I support my ticket and her is why the other person's headliner should lose. The one that can do that the best will win. P.S. Biden must smile the whole time, the one thing Palin has down, are her lips frozen that way. One could say the same about Obama too. McCain on the other hand has even his smile looking painful.
  23. Me too Seriously $11.5K in the mail room at GW. I got tuition benefits for working full-time, 8 year plan from start to finish, but only 6.5 years in school. Took some time off before and worked as a bicycle courier. I have a GW 401K, a Roth IRA and a Fed Pension coming when I turn 56 and if I can get 6 more years in Fed and retire at that point, I can get Health Insurance. Thinking about the P.O. part-time while I work on improving my photo business. I had $130K in equity in my house, but doubt that will be any good for a while. But I have a young wife, so life is good and heck, I will probably quit working the day before I die. If I can keep making money in the process great! I still think if we can bail out these COs and yes I know it is a cash flow issue, then why doesn't it make sense to provides some assistance to folks that have a record of paying on their mortgage but may have hit some tough times and wouldn't this be away to put cash... liquidity back into the system or would it be too expensive. I still don't have a handle on the extent of the problem and I don't trust the talking heads or any of the wall street types being able to give a straight answer. I notice non of the bank reps are talking right now???? P.S. I always hedge 10% in bonds in all my IRA, equity funds and 401Ks
  24. Then why give Bill Clinton so much #@$@#$, zipper deal, should he have divorced the #$%@ ????
