No just a raging moderate.... with a libertarian streak which includes big business as well as government and a Robin Hood complex, hence the hockey..... P.S. Sabres won 2-0, Miller got back to back shutouts and Kaleta, my favorite Sabre scored! -
Still no access to Palin medical records
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to PastaJoe's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I heard only 1,000 folks showed up at a rally for him today w/o Palin, when they were expecting 10,000 in Florida -

I remember those things from when my folks used to vote in Buffalo, they would let kids into the voting booth with their parents back then. I thought the argument against those things is that they allowed you to just click one switch and vote for an entire slate of Candidates.??? I agree, they appeared bullet proof. I think the ballot stuffing came afterwards and you could not track a vote with a registration for confirmation purposes. Interesting idea though. -

This is a slippery slope where no one wins on this one. Yes there are mentally challenged folks that may not be capable of clearly deciding who, or even why they should vote, but how would you determine it and any line would probably eliminate huge chunks of the population from the voting rolls including Sarah Palin! -

What machine's are you talking about? The electronic screen push button one's were the one's I was referring to. They has software with USB access and if you knew the code, you could upload anything. Also, some in VA when I was there just flat out didn't work. -

YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to PromoTheRobot's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Now there is some misinformation! Things have gone wrong a lot, machines have crashed, there have been bugs in the software... And most can but do not provide paper backup. Only recently has some paper back up been happening after so many electronic errors. Scanning computerized forms may be the best, not sure, but there should be an across the board system that has a viable redundancy built in so this kind of crap on both sides quits. -

I have no idea, still it is the silly season and if you want to participate, don't do things at the last minute and make sure all your documents are in order. Don't expect the system to protect your rights at the last minute.... but wait, that is the Merican way. -
Woman denies Halloween candy...

No just Democratic Party welfare, she was still giving out Candy free to Republican's and that is still welfare -

Hey, I am not denying local Dems have participated in activities that should be considered voter fraud, but you asked where have Republicans. From voter suppression activities saying outside polling places telling falsely that certain people can't vote (I have seen it in person), to rigging electronic voting machines, to telling Dems to vote on Wednesday through robo calls are all forms of voter fraud, not just fake registrations. Nice switching of topics when you don't like the answer you are getting. -

99%, some said 110% turnout with even dead people from the graveyard voted in small towns in Eastern, OH last election for Republicans in 2004. Also, there were a lot accusations of vote switching and programed errors in voting machines to give more votes to Republicans. http://www.rollingstone.com/news/story/104...election_stolen. http://www.jqjacobs.net/politics/ohio.html -

Obama will bankrupt the coal industry
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
And Rep. Bill Orton and House Dems were blindsided over that one. I don't anything about the Lippo group and Republican accusations of their involvement in Clinton dealings, but there were a lot of House Dems pissed about that one right before the election. -

It already is in high asthma levels and sick days on the east coast then average. You can track area air quality down wind of these dirty plants, especially at night when a lot of these plants are operational. So it is one of those, you can pay me now or pay me this year costs sent on to businesses and their employees operating downwind. -

YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Nanker's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Yeh I know the McPalin folks are at it lying again... He fully supports clean coal and a lot of it comes out of this area, but it is another McPalin scaaaaary tactic of desperation. Coal is fine and a largely untapped resources when processed fired with the proper scrubbers. It is costly when it is not. -
Obama's Aunt an Illegal Alien
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Wacka's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I am not going to defend Pelosi.... Reid despite the RW vilification of him, he is an honorable man who can reach across party lines and has a reputation on the floor of the Senate working with Republicans. OBama's tax policy as distorted by the Republicans would be worrisome. However, what he and only he and his campaign, not some other Democrat not speaking directly through the campaign has said that people under $250,000 won't have their taxes increased and many will have them decreased. Those over that figure will have a moderate increase which will be needed to rein in a deficit exploded by Bush the Repigs. So if you were truly being honest with yourself, those things you claim as hypocrisy is no more then RW distortions and hyperbole. The question I have on Obama is his lack of track record. The check on all three is the economy and the deficit. Off to photograph the NYC Marathon.... -

True and that isn't just recently, most are arrogant little know it all pricks, but still it shows that McCain isn't ready to be President. He needs to be better than that and he disrespects himself for loosing it in front of someone still wet behind the ears. -
Good reading
YellowLinesandArmadillos replied to Kelly the Dog's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
There were enough folks saying he didn't and smelling a rat back then, plus SH was in a box and Bin Laden was the immediate threat and Bush let him get away and get off the hook by changing our focus. This was bs from the beginning and no one knew where the break lever was on that incoming train as Bush and Cheney and Rummy bamboozled a lot of people. -

Never mind, you have already made up your mind.... So I guess you don't like the guy... got it. Your reasons seem pretty pathetically of a character assassination nature rather on issues. So you are into gossip rather than substance. Now how about McCain, cheating on his first wife, how about McCain if it were not for his Mom, would have gotten kicked out of West Point. How about McCain being a notorious bad pilot. How about McCain treating his staff like crap, disrespecting them in public. How about McCain calling a high school student a little jerk? How about McCain not even looking at Obama and then point to "That One." The man is disrespectful and does not have the temperament to be President. I am not sure I agree with Obama on some issues, but I do not want more of the same disrespect of people that George Bush has put forth. Also, because of economic circumstances and folks advising Obama, I believe he would make a better President then McCain.... Not the best President of some of the other not-likely choices, but of the two with a chance to win.... So it looks like I may plug my nose, close my eyes and hit a button. Either way, folks need to find a way to accept each others political differences and lower the hostility levels. -

I agree, I had family show up at my wedding and now I won't see or talk to them for at least another 10 years.... now 4 years. I still barely know them, having seen them only four or five times in over 40 years. What part of this is so hard to understand or did you guys grow up in some Kumbaya family where you all live within a mile of each other. Not that there is anything wrong with that, but there are many families spread out all over this great land. Very different and we don't know our relatives well at all! -

So is this a violation of the woman's privacy??? She is not a public figure? A criminal perhaps, but not a public figure. -
Palin sent to AK to watch for Russian invasion. Capital Gains taxes lessen helping only folks like T-Bine Pickens. The economy continues its downward death spiral and soup lines and shanty towns in Central Park are created. Texas sends all its homeless over to Oklahoma... woops they already do and a Tent City is created on the Mall in DC. That good enough fear for all you RW scaries.... P.S. The extra W was on purpose
