  1. Look at the source of this... "Newsbusters," some blogspot echo chamber, and the National Spew... I am sure it can be traced this back to the fictitious mind of Matt Drudge. Whatever, move along. But nice slanderous desperation by the McCain flacks.
  2. Oh okay, blame the Dems... Typical Republican. The Dems said go in and make loans if they are credit worthy, stop redlining, do your job.
  3. And not spending enough has left us with states with such well educated and business successful populations like Oklahoma and Eastern, Kentucky, and Mississippi to name a few. Please, get off your big government carp... it is stinking. We need responsive government that is reasonably funded. That doesn't mean get rid of it like you lemmings on the right state, nor does it mean just throw money at it either like both sides seem to do when it is something they approve or are trying to take care of their own like in Alaska, or in New York where every small level of government claims legitimacy and grabs a piece of the pie. The public educational system in NY is great, the local business taxes suck. There had to be a happy medium and some accountability, but doing away with the service doesn't accomplish anything and is too easy an excuse to sit on your but and complain without trying to be part of the solution. Get over your self.
  4. Actually I didn't, others did, but I laughed and yes I was insensitive, get over it. In my younger days, GT was the enemy, no matter what, no holds bar. Ewing took down the Pearl, and the Pearl got up and punched him in the Nuts and dropped him. It is college BB, get over it. Makes politics look tame.
  5. Better yet asked her when she left the AK successionist Party and if she believed that AK should be a separate country. Or asked her if JM's bad temper makes him a security risk? Or if JM has gotten past his violations of ethics resulting from his Keating and Abramoff connections.
  6. Yep, I don't totally get it, if it was Palin in a goalie mask and equipment with a big bloody knife... maybe. This is just stupid and crass.
  7. P.S. I too vote at every opportunity as my civic duty. I just don't spend as much time thinking about the overall economic theory of a person at the local level. Mostly it is about reining the mutts in, changing the time on the traffic signals, figuring out how folks feel about property taxes and if they are paying the bills on time and not absconding with any of the funds. Wait those are national issues too
  8. It is an over stated right wing conspiracy theory, but google them anyway.
  9. Where are they going to go... please, it is worse elsewhere.
  10. If I remember correctly there was a guy painting a hammer and sickle on Dem signs in Alexandria when I was there and another with a pick-up truck who just went around collecting Dem signs, he was caught and I think had to pay a $50 fine, he laughed and kept doing it. But it is the physical violence that I was referring to and I don't think that is appropriate. Paint can be washed off, signs replaced. Keying shouldn't be tolerated, though I have seen quite a bit of that lately and it would be hard to catch. Just stop it.
  11. No I don't believe it is one directional, I rail against it on either side, it is uncalled for. Sign stealing and defacing is harmless, but a rock is another. But the stuff lately reminds me of the Bobby Knight firing at Indiana, when despite the guy being a fink, though a great strategist, it was time for him and his temper and ego to go, his supporters were calling in death threats and acting out because they were not getting their way. The LW crazy anarchists in Seattle are the worst with the World Bank crap, but it is the same mentality and the McCain's camp seems to be playing up the jealousy and fear angle demonizing the other side, making it okay to attack them. Despicable.
  12. The Syracuse bumper stickers is understandable, we use to throw bananas at Patrick Ewing. Actually this was in Ridgefield... the upper crusty part of CT.
  13. He had an Obama bumper sticker on his car. The guy is harmless, yet some idiot decided to vandalize his car in Connecticut. This is politics, not war... if you guys want to continue act that way in the real America, sign up and go to Iraq where there is plenty of unjustified violence, go for it. If you don't have that much guts, show up on a local hockey rink... and view my moniker. Cut out the crap!
  14. http://www.nbc.com/Saturday_Night_Live/vid...address/787181/ It is very funny. The extremes of either side don't appreciate this kind of humor, but those who have one can enjoy.

  16. Here is the story out of Alexandria with a little more context... it does sound like John McCain... brothers sound alike. http://voices.washingtonpost.com/sleuth/
  17. True, I agree, but so what it is Bush's fault! Kool Aide or Not.
  18. Now there is the understatement of the year!
  19. Why get rid of the others??? They will fit right in
  20. So I want to know Boomer, do you think you, Da Big Man or Wacka are the bigger jokes? Are you going to whine and cry about the question? Or are you just going to admit you are a moron. Wacka in his defense, isn't a total moron, just an occasional one, like posting this interviewer's questions as serious. Please, the only thing Biden should have done is asked if she is working for the McCain campaign, because she is spreading the same old same old b.s. lies?

  22. Technically, you are right, though a lot are not use taxes, such as withholding taxes. Sales taxes I guess could be defined as use taxes or consumption, but practically it makes no difference, use taxes, sales taxes, withholding taxes, whatever, they are still paying taxes, and folks who say these folks are not paying any income tax, imply and often misstate that these folks are not paying any taxes at all, which is simply not true. We need to look at the overall tax burden in this country and it is disproportionately as a percentage of incoming wealth born by the lower and middle classes. Finally, the Dems have figured out that giving these folks some relief is just good politics, no wonder the GOP is fighting it so hard, it creates a big political problem for them.
  23. You are correct of course, but it is the silly season and sometimes you have to just sit back and laugh at all. Don't quit contributing, while I don't often agree with you, I appreciate your knowledge, quick wit and general sarcasm. It keeps me on my game and in many respects, while this is serious etc, etc. it is still a game... the game of life and you either have a choice, throw your arms back and laugh or curl up in a ball and cry.... You don't seem like the crying type... So enjoy and adopt of dev/null's sick thinking. It is a lot more fun!
