Okay so why is Joe the plumber practicing without a licensed, had his driver's license revoked... a guy violating the law (for your rw law and order types) being associated with the strategy of a Presidential candidate and held up as the America they represent. Since when did McCain start so closely associating himself with law breakers? Palin married an Unamerican, Todd of the AK secessionist party.

The question should be how the Republicans lost their moderate base. Their coalition fell in disfavor when Bush and the Republican Congress decided that deficits don't matter and we could spend ourselves into oblivion, without paying for it. Reagan was successful at it because the country needed some stimulus and the Dems were still living out their new deal dreams and then Clinton, Delay and Gingrich ushered in a balance budget giving us a brief reprieve. But once they lost power, the big spenders on the Right took over and the Dems only went along when they could get a piece of the pie. The deficit and balance budget hawks on the right and the Blue Dogs and New Dems on the Left lost influence and Bush's new socialism took over. The problem is that both sides have their spenders and they have run amok the last couple of years. The question becomes is McCain a balanced budget guy... His record is spotty, but he has shown at times he wants to go that way. Obama doesn't have much of a record, but the Clinton-Daschle folks behind him are part of his inner circle there may be some hope if he wins. The problem will be if Obama or McCain can tone down their partisan rhetoric and tactics enough to put together fiscally responsible coalition. Otherwise it is everyone for themselves and their states and responsibility breaks down.

There are laws against things like that!

Actually, all you have to do is not blog, keep your mouth shut unlike us, and get involved with a local civic association and start raising money and then choose a political party to get involved in and help out a lot. Sooner or later you will probably be asked to run and not be considered a threat. Not my cup of tea, can't keep my mouth shut and I often have Biden's hoof and mouth disease. Wouldn't work, that is the hard part.

Dems are not defending it, how come the GOP other than McCain still defends its minions.

Granted... and I too would be pissed, in fact Ewing used to dish it out and those games always bordered on riots back then. Heck hockey games almost broke out a couple of times. But yep, I didn't always hang out with the most politically correct crowd, (a lot of ethnic insults were thrown about in the old hood in western, NY). Still occasionally hang out with Todd Palin types... good people, but they have their views and sometimes those views go over the line...

You know you are probably right, but if you have been to a football game lately, had beer thrown over on you, seen all kinds of stuff thrown out of the stands at basketball and hockey games... or if you have listened to a Duke or NC basketball game, it goes with the territory. Back then I agree, things got out of hand. Not saying it is right, but having grown up in Buffalo, I have heard so much worse and I have a caustic sense of humor... generally the Jim Kelly approach. So in some senses calling me a hypocrite is something I can understand... That being said, on my cousin's deal, there is an investigation and that is what the police are telling the family they think. Luckily, no one was hurt except the car and an innocents lack of understanding why, however, the vandals probably don't know that he is challenged.

Wonder if he has burned any cigarettes into his forearms recently???/
