Post a Pic Showing Your State of Mind on Eve of Draft

Sort of like the guy who says. "My last three girlfriends broke up with me. I'm going to try the dog next..."

Yeah, those ex-Bills QBs he cites played a lot more games in good weather than bad--and still weren't very good. Had nothing to do with being from CA...

Didn't see this anywhere, so what the heck (and I know many don't like the BN paywall): http://buffalonews.com/2018/04/25/sam-darnold-on-private-workout-with-bills-i-could-have-thrown-better/ "I wish I could have thrown better at that workout," Darnold said Wednesday of the session he had in front of coach Sean McDermott, General Manager Brandon Beane and other club officials in Los Angeles. "Not my best day throwing, but I completed most of my footballs. It wasn't a huge deal, but could have thrown better. But I threw it really well. I was consistent, accurate. The ball just wasn't spinning the way it usually does, which was a bummer, but it's nothing crazy."

Interesting Take From QB Guru on Allen
Lurker replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see a natural "flick" of the wrist type throwing motion--where the revs on the ball are amazingly tight and it looks like its on a rope--that I see with elite NFL QBs. Allen's ball seems to push through the air, rather than aerodynamically cut through it. The QBs that can spin it seem to have the best accuracy as well. In other words, I saw more EJ Manuel, less Aaron Rogers... -
LOL. I just had a thought about Peg's comment about not wanting the NFL glacier to slip below the waterline. If the Bills were to draft Rosen, the first media question Terry might get asked is "What do you think about your new franchise QB's F*** Trump hat, Terry?" Not good....

Interesting Take From QB Guru on Allen
Lurker replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Man, that was painful to watch. I just don't see the "arm talent" I keep hearing about. I don't see a live arm, just a strong one on a so-so athlete... -
LOL. What the hell does the NYT care about New York State? They're a global news organization that happens to be headquartered in NYC. They're coverage of--and allegiance to--statewide issues is minimal...

Interesting Take From QB Guru on Allen
Lurker replied to Da webster guy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is why I've never gotten comfortable with this kid. IMO, the Big 12 spread offenses are just not good preparation for the NFL. It seem's like every receiver is always open, like they're playing against air. Fast break football is entertaining but the NFL is another animal. That said, the Big Sky is not good breeding ground for the NFL either. The PAC 12, on the other hand, is the proving ground for NFL QBs... -
Surprising how much Terry was quoted in that NYT article. And I'm not sure his comments were that fundamentally interesting, either. So I'm curious about the reporter's thought process here...

No different than the NFL player personnel and front office guys who get fired from their cushy gigs for missing as well. I don't get the attitude that draftnics like Mayock have to be perfect in their assessments to be very good. No one--nadda--has ever been perfect at this. It's the collective body of work that they have to be judged on, and IMO, Mayock is among the best becuase he puts in the work to make the best educated forecast he can make...

Who in the Hell Is Mel Kiper, Jr?
Lurker replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yep. Called him one of his best friends in the SI article and went to his funeral. Their 24/7 work ethic was probably the bond that made the relationship go... -
Who in the Hell Is Mel Kiper, Jr?

Joel Buchsbaum preceded Kiper a bit, but yeah, he's a founder no question. Great, great article on the whole industry: https://www.si.com/nfl/2018/04/20/mock-draft-oral-history-mel-kiper-joel-buchsbaum-bill-belichick-todd-mcshay -
Am I the only one? I'll take any of the top 6 QBs
Lurker replied to Rubes's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Agreed. A big part of being a Bills fan is "hope" and fans will be energized this fall no matter who the pick is. Usually, that's when reality kicks in and we get back to normal. But, there's always hope... -
There was some concern about all the sacks he took with the Gamblers, but by and large, he was viewed as the "Chosen One." Can't think of another player, before or since, who had fans lined up on the bridges over the Kennsington waving as he drove downtown to sign his contract (with Kent Hull following behind in an equipment van). It's interesting that it took two more years for the team to jell, however, which is a cautionary note about the "process" with whomever we grab... 4-23: Brandon Beane on One Bills Live
Lurker replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
As in, ask questions and see how their staff is preparing for the biggest day in their ownership history? I'm sure it's not "Yeah, Terry you sit in the corner and stfu while the adults do their work. And Kim, honey, can you run down and make a new pot of coffee?"
