  1. You're right about that. Didn't notice the date on the article I read - it was from last summer and just referenced the R-Braves move "next year."
  2. The Jammers were in a dead heat with these guys for worst name. Richmond Braves are moving to Gwinnet County, Georgia next season.
  3. I had to rewind my DVR to make sure I heard that right. More evidence that Cross is a moron.
  4. It's like watching the NFL's version of the South Park Timmy-versus-Jimmy cripple fight.
  5. I was wondering what happened to him. He was the 'Noles best player the last couple years.
  6. Trying to watch this online but the video is very choppy and constantly buffering. Anyone else having issues?
  7. Is there any place to watch it online? The whole DirecTV-Versus pissing match is going to prevent me from watching it live.
  8. I'm nervous that it's Tuesday and we haven't made a move for HC.
  9. I used to hate the 4 pm starts, but I'm with you on this one. I can spend the day getting stuff done, spending time with the family, and then settle in to watch the DJ-led Bills embarass themselves.
  10. I agree with your take on Fisher - to a point. I'd think it's pretty hard to get the team ready to play week to week when you are not THE guy. To me, that responsibility falls on the three guys ahead of him - CA, MA and ultimately, Bobby. Fisher can only do so much. Ponder has been the most consistent player on either side of the ball. He and Greg Reid have been the best players for the Noles this year, bar none. He has had some moments where the ball sails on him or he holds it a little too long, but overall I have been very impressed with him and his play so far. I don't know whether Amato is still getting it done in South Fla or not. I really have no clue. I know he's done a great job recruiting there in the past, but I honestly don't follow the recruiting as much as I probabaly should.
  11. Was that on the Jeff Cameron show? As for the douchenozzles like Herbstriet - who gives a ****. We owe Bobby everything for building this program - everything except the right to tear it down. And he's been given more than enough time to right the ship and get the program back on top.
  12. Yeah, they talked about that in there. I think there were a couple current defensive guys that Fisher closed or recruited, and a couple defensive recruits that he is actively working on. I agree with the author, it's hard to be taken seriously as the HCIW if you're still underneath Chuck the Chest on the organziational flow chart. But unfortunately even though he doesn't wield as much power as MA or CTC, people are starting to turn on Fisher as somehow already proving that he's a bust and won't amount to much as HC.
  13. Yep. I particularly like the develpoment of Ponder as proof of what Jimbo can do on the offensive side of the ball. We haven't seen a QB progress in a while; rather, we've seen more QBs regress over the last 7-8 years. Here's an interesting tidbit from an SI article: According to the ceremonial titles described in FSU's media guide, head coach-in-waiting Jimbo Fisher officially is the fourth-most-powerful member of the staff behind Bowden, associate head coach/defensive coordinator Mickey Andrews and associate head coach/linebackers coach Chuck Amato. This arrangement persists, even though Fisher and hand-picked assistants James Coley and Rick Trickett are the ones convincing most of the better recruits to come to Tallahassee. 14. Just to echo a little and add to what you already posted: Bobby's decline started not only with the loss of Richt, but the utterly stupid decision to draw a line in the sand with the administration and demand that they let him hire Jeff or BB would quit. He bent and twisted the state's nepotism laws to suit his and his family's whims, and then refused to do anything when Jeff's offenses floundered and his recruiting sucked. The boosters had to buy JB out to get that change. I think Mickey's already checked out. He didn't want to come back this year (or last, IIRC) and Bobby had to ask him to come back. I think Mickey's been done since his son died and he learned that he wasn't going to be the next FSU HC. Jimbo's been doing offensive and defensive recruiting, from what I've read on other boards. From what I've read, there is a serious rift between the offensive (Jimbo's guys) and defensive coaches (Bobby's guys). There have been whispers of confrontations on airplanes after road games and in front of the team in the locker room, among others. Chuck Amato and Jimbo have reportedly bumped heads a few times, and there's even rumors that Bobby has been undermining Jimbo in an effort to remain relevant. It's a bad situation all around, and Bobby is in the middle of it. It's time to thank him for everything he's done, give him a cushy job in the administration or boosters, and move on to the next era.
  15. I saw the Tim Graham thread and breakdown of TE's passes by yardage, but I've never seen a breakdown of how many times he's thrown at individual players. If you have a link I'd appreciate it.
  16. How expensive is it and how much of a break do you get on sick visits, surgeries, etc.?
  17. I liked ESPN's breakdown of Captain Checkdown's inability or refusal to throw downfield, so I'm hoping they can do a breakdown of how many times Trent has thrown to Reed, Evans, Owens and then to the backs and TE's. Heck, I'd settle for a positional breakdown, so we can see how many times he dumps off to RB's or TE's. My gut says that the numbers will bear out what we all see with the naked eye, but I'd like to see it in black&white.
  18. True. I wasn't even getting into how much it would cost JK and co to buy the franchise, just referring to the reason that 66 was able to buy the Pens was that the franchise was drowning in debt and years of deferring salaries made ML one of the franchise's biggest creditors. Once the owners filed for bankruptcy ML was able to convert his deferred salaries into an ownership stake in the team.
