  1. Bills are definitely gone after Ralph passes away, if not sooner. Hey, football is going down the same road as baseball with this new contract. When was the last time the Pirates or Royals had a team? I heard rumors that Bills are headed for Los Angeles, due to television revenue and 15 million market in population. Buffalo is now the 83rd largest city in America after places like Toledo and Riverside. Should have built that waterfront about 30 years ago. You can also thank Jerry Jones and Dan "punk" Snyder, since they are the new Steinbrenner's of football. And for all you fellow Yankees fans, it's payback time in regards to the Bills eventually leaving under the new contract.
  2. Maybe he is interviewing for the Rally Monkey opening in Anaheim.
  3. -The Bills signing of Craig Nall cannot be a vote of confidence for JP. It is still too early to judge JP and if he will be a bust or not. He needs more experience and a good offensive line in front of him. But i am biting my tongue because he was drafted by that GM guru, Tom donohoe. Which means he probably is another bust! Does Losman remind Bills fan of another player from Southern California, with similar size,a great arm, the ability to run, but was indecisive and held onto the ball too long - namely Rob"sack-em" Johnson, who is probably surfing naked with Todd Marinovich at this moment in SoCal. -The positive about Nall is that he comes from a system that is known for grooming QB's and he has good size. We'll have to wait and see, but JP doesn't look like he has that moxie to be a good QB, or the brains.
  4. I work with Fowler's brother and he can play either guard or center. He is a better run-blocker and while at Cleveland, Lee Suggs had over 100 yards for every game that Fowler has played. Put simply, he is probably better than Trey Teague and has more upside.
  5. Failure of imagination - Why don't you try the failure of Tom Donohoe to draft good players........Let's try Losman at DB while we are at it. Bills fans must be breathing in all the chemicals from Tonawanda.
  6. Stick with Lindell..........Janikowski would drink up all the vodka in Chippewa
  7. -SEatlle Seahawks have best two linemen in football, Steve Hutchinson and Walter Jones. Is it any wonder that Shaun Alexander had 28 t.d.s. - Pittsburgh has Pro Bowlers in A.Faneca and Jeff HArtings. -The Kansas City Chiefs have one of the best offensive line's and is it any wonder that Priest Holmes and Larry Johnson run forever behind that line. - Didn't the Ravens win Super Bowl with Trent Dilfer at QB, behind a great offensive line and a great defense. - I cannot believe that Bills fans are not talking about drafting an offensive lineman or defensive lineman. I hear all this talk about a QB. I thought that Losman was the second coming. He may be, but unless there is someone to block for him and give hime time, we will never know. - And draft Vince Young. could be another Michael Vick. - Everyone knows that great teams have great lines. Until the Bills address that need, they will continue to go nowhere. - Super Bowl Bills had #1 picks Jim Ritcher and Will Wohlford. We also had Kent Hull, who was a Pro Bowler.
  8. I agree, how many team do you know that went to the playoffs without a good offensive line. Didn't Baltimore win with Trent Dilfer??? Also, some experts said Vince Young always operated out of shotgun and will have to learn 3-step drop. Don't get me wrong, i think he is a great talent. But so was Michael Vick and i hardly consider him a great QB.
  9. HEY, BILLS MUST BE LOADED WITH TALENT. WE HAVE TWO PRO BOWLERS, A PUNTER AND A SNAPPER. HARDLY MAKES US A SUPER BOWL CONTENDER FOR ALL THOSE DREAMERS OUT THERE!......... O.J. Simpson, Jim Kelly, Bruce Smith, Thurman Thomas, Steve Tasker, Andre Reed, Ruben Brown . . . Mike Schneck. What do those Buffalo Bills players have in common? As of Thursday, they all were chosen to represent the team at the NFL's Pro Bowl. Schneck, the long-snapper, was added to the roster Thursday by AFC coach Mike Shanahan as a "need" player. Schneck will join punter Brian Moorman as the Bills' representatives in the league's all-star game on Feb. 12 in Hawaii. The AFC did not have anyone on its roster of stars capable of handling the long-snapping duties, and Schneck was recognized for his excellence. Schneck, 28, successfully executed 128 snap opportunities this year for the Bills.
  10. I think Mawae had a pretty bad knee injury and it isn't the first time. Bentley would come at a cheaper price.
  11. Fisher had 9 sacks this year.......Much more than Denney.
  12. Steelers much more successful than Bills.......Cannot win Super Bowl - That will probably change in a couple weeks. AS for the Bills, can we even get to the playoffs.........What are the playoffs????
  13. CBS Sports article Everyone wants to know the secret to the Pittsburgh Steelers playing in the Super Bowl. How can a team that was once 7-5 now find itself one game away from the impossible, getting a ring after ripping off seven consecutive victories, including three on the road in the playoffs? Is it the improvement of Ben Roethlisberger? How about the play of All-World safety Troy Polamalu? Maybe great run defense? They've all been a big factor, but if you really want to see the secret to the Steelers' turnaround, it's really right in front of our faces. How could we possibly miss 1,700 pounds of them? It's the Steelers' powerful offensive line, five guys who have suddenly jelled into a unit that not only protects Roethlisberger, but also can run the ball when the Steelers get a lead. They are strong enough to play the road-grader line, yet nimble enough to handle blitzing teams as they did Sunday against Denver in the AFC Championship Game. That's one thing about the NFL and good teams: Their offensive lines are usually pretty dominant. For that to be the case, it usually takes premium picks to be successful. The Indianapolis Colts' line was dominated by the Steelers a few weeks back. Do you know how many first-, second- or third-round picks are on that line? One. The Steelers have three former first-round picks, a second-round pick (Smith) and a third-round pick (Starks). The front office has made drafting big bodies a priority, although Hartings was signed as a free agent from Detroit. "This is a team that uses high picks on linemen," Starks said. "When they drafted us, they expected us to be successful. And right now that's apparent."
  14. How can Bills fans believe every year that the Bills are close to going to a Super Bowl. First of all, you have to get to the playoffs. For past 5 years, the Bills won 31 and lost 47. This organization and team is in Rebuilding 101. First of all, they don't even know if they have a QB. Losman is still unproven and young. Secondly, there offensive line is one of the worst in the NFL. Just watch the Steelers and Steelers and you notice what a great line looks like. Great blocking schemes, etc. The bills have no Tight End, and aging Eric Moulds to boot. Josh Reed is a bust for a 2nd round pick. On defense, linebacker is their strength but who knows if Takeo Spikes can come back from serious injury. Up front, they need another pass-rusher besides Schoebel. Denney and Kelsey have shown me nothing. In the secondary, Clements is gone and they have an aging Lawyor Milloy and Troy Vincent. The bright side is our punter and kick returner. Hardly sounds like a Super Bowl contender to me. Sort of like the Bills proclaiming at the beginning of the year that we have a defense like the Bears of 1985. End Result: Bills finished 29th in defense. And don't blame it on losing Spikes. The Carolina Panthers lost Pro Bowler Kris Jenkins and still were in the NFC Championship. It's called terrible drafts and Tom Donohoe - who by the way looks like he lost his famous feud with Bill Cowher. Cowher is super bowl bound and donohoe is working at Wegmans bagging eggs...........
  15. - Ramsey has been compared most closely to JP Losman, of all people. They both went to the same college, Tulane. Ramsey has a good arm, but don't know if he would be the next Kelly. - Bills need offensive line help before they bring a QB in..........
  16. Quit smoking your crack pipe.........Sherman had better record than JAuron and was even part of Ron Wolf's scouting department. This is just like taking Williams and Mularkey over John Fox and Charlie Weiss........The records speak for themselves. There's a lot of great coaches that didn't go to Yale, such as bill Belicheck and John Fox to name a few. Most people that went to Yale are working on Wall street!!!!!! quote=Casey D,Jan 23 2006, 07:21 AM] The Buffalo Bills have been run like a fantasy team for the fans over the last five years. Lots of flash and good PR, but no character. Need to get the fans excited, trade for an over-the-hill Bledsoe and watch the fans come out like he's Jim Kelly. Need another shot of adreneline, sign an aging Lawyer Milloy in 2003. Fans hate Gregg Williams, fire him. Fans want a hot new QB, draft Losman. Fans sick of Bledsoe and want hot young QB, dump Bledsoe. And the fans lapped it up, selling out every game in 2005, while the team sunk to new depths. Now we have a new sheriff in town named Marv Levy, who has a very different approach. We are going to build this team right, from the bottom up with quality, character players. Not everyone will be from that lack of character institution--the University of Miami--we'll get some quality guys. We will build the lines-- so we can block and tackle. We will get the fundamentals right. Enter Dick Jauron. Certainly no flash there. But by every account a quality man who players will play for. Oh, and he went to Yale, so he's likely smart, and can learn from his mistakes. And he's high character, and a teacher. And he knows the value of a stout D-line. So what do many on this board want--run him out of town. Why, because we did not hire the flashier, instant gratification candidate in Mike Sherman. And truth be told as much as the fans say they hated TD at the end, they in fact miss his "give the fans what they want" approach, even if they don't know anything about building a winning business, much less a football team. All they know is that they want to make a big splash today, so the media will say nice things about us. I am tired of the TD approach. I am tired of the push for instant gratification. I want to see teams, like those when Levy coached, who know how to take a punch and get back up and fight some more. I want a team that beats Miami when the QB finds a way into the end zone on the last play, not one that loses on the last play. Levy knew character and quality before. I think he still does. And while Jauron may not be flashy, he has the brains and character that this team so desperately needs right now. 579193[/snapback]
  17. Where have we heard this before: But Jauron was an uninspired choice. Levy pushed hard for him. He has a home in Chicago and broadcast Bears games when Jauron was coach. There's also an Ivy League bond: Levy went to Harvard, Jauron to Yale. Sounds similar to Donohoe being comfortable with Mike Mularkey. Compare Jauron's record with Shermans: Sherman seemed well-suited for the role. In his first five seasons, the Packers went 53-27. He was 7-1 against Jauron. The Pack reached the playoffs four straight years, 2001 to '04. They were 2-4 in the postseason, but that's a lot better than 0-0 - the Bills' record under Tom Donahoe. And sure enough, they took the wrong guy. The Golden Boys could have hired Mike Sherman, a proven winner with a strong offensive background and experience as a general manager in Green Bay. Instead, they went with Dick Jauron, who went 11-21 in his last two seasons as the Bears' coach and fielded some of the most inept offenses the league has seen in recent times. Bills passed up on John Fox and Charlie Weiss.........Once again the "inept" Bills organization took a step backward............This team is 5 years once again from being playoff contender............The glory days are gone forever!!!!!!
  18. Really! Damn, must be a slow day on WGR. I'll make sure to Tivo that one.
  19. In looking at Donohoe's drafts over the past 5 years, i have concluded that his first year, 2001, was a good year and it was all downhill after that. 2001- Clements, Henry, Schobel, Edwards, Jennings 2002- Mike Williams - Could have had John Henderson or D.Freeney; Josh Reed and Ryan Denney in 2nd round. What was he smoking during that round? Could have had Clinton Portis, Fonoti, Deion Branch, Will Weatherspoon. And Coy Wire in the 3rd round? What was he drinking? Could have had pass rusher Alex Brown or Randy McMichael at tight end. 2003 - McGahee - Kelsey in the 2nd round(Could have had Jason Witten or Osi Umenyiora, DE, of Giants. Donohoe continues with the fine ganja......Crowell in 3rd and McGee in 4th. ** Bills should trade all 2nd round picks for more picks. Why is it that this team always drafts a bust in 2nd round, except for Thurman Thomas.*** 2004 - Lee Evans and Losman in round one - Jury is still out, but could have had Vince Wolfork. And Tim Anderson in 3rd round. Considering Donohoe drafted Josh Reed, Kelsey, Ryan Denney, and Coy Wire in 2nd rounds, not very impressive.
  20. Actually, he hasn't given up a sack in 2 years. If you look at the Broncos and other teams that have successful lines, their lines are not full of 350-lb. players like Mike Williams or Bennie Anderson. You need a tackle that is quick on his feet and mobile to lead an end around, etc. The bills offensive line was a joke. All they did was move forward and not with any success. Not saying if Ferguson will be A+ starter, but Bills passed up on Pro Bowler Steve Hutchinson years ago and are paying the price. I would probably take Ngotu or Mario Williams over Ferguson if they were available though.
  21. As much as i think Bill Polian was a drafting genius and what he did for the Super Bowl Bills in early 90's was unmatched, these colts remind me of the 90's bills. They have an explosive offense, with a great QB, RB, and WR. they have a tight end that can catch the ball downfield like Keith McKeller. And they also have a good defense, which is fast, but undersized. The Steelers showed how to stop the Colts offense by repeatedly blitzing Manning as well. The bills defense in the early 90's had Jeff Wright, Leon Seals and Bruce Smith up front. Their average weight was around 270 lbs. How did they do going against the huge 300-lb line of Redskins and Cowboys, the results speak for themselves. Another point to make is how good a player is Troy Polamalu. Wasn't Cowher at odds with Tom donohoe over his drafting and Cowher won the argument. In your face Donohoe!!!!!
  22. I agree....He is the most underrated player in the NFL. He might even be the best receiver. It's not like he has Peyton Manning throwing to him like Marvin Harrison.
