  1. I think it's because the cable shows (HBO, Showtime, etc.) Are able to push the boundaries further and be edgier then that on regular networks so now when you look back at what was the top then, it looks tame and childish because they weren't able to do what they can now. Now they can have cases of rape and gruesome murders instead of old ladies getting purses snatched and a hold up at the bank where all the hostages are safe and sound
  2. Again, it's not the contract that's preventing others from obtaining him, it's that the Bills can't move him without absorbing a huge cap hit now. He is still a very good player that has proven it on the field when healthy and wants to. I bet 90% of the coaching staffs out there feel they could bring him in and motivate him with a change in scenery. Sometimes it doesn't matter that a new coaching staff came in, he just needs a fresh start somewhere else to motivate him Again, or a certain type of coach. Teams will go after him and the Bills won't have to pay anyone to take him like Osweiler who really hadn't proven anythi g except that he was good for a few games on a very good team. He seems to be a guy who has lost interest, maybe because he has his deal, or the constant changes here, or nagging injuries. Some people also don't get motivated by the type of coaching the bills staff have I place right now. It's probably in the best interest of both sides to move on, unfortunately for the Bills they can't because of the cap hit they would take.
  3. Yeah, those stupid fans thinking the Bills are a powerhouse, or just maybe better then a 1-3 Bengals team. The bills have had an easy schedule having to play against bottom feeder teams like Carolina Denver and Atlanta. Imagine if they had to face a juggernaut like Cleveland! We haven't seen what this team can do against a good defence or offence. Obviously we just have to look back to last season to figure out how this game will go, since they are pretty much returning with the same coaching staff and players as last season....
  4. It's not going to mattering they win this game , it's not going to change around here or anywhere, it will just be that they beat a bad team they should have, and if they lose it will be that they are the same old bills and we would hear how their wins were flukes as they pump up the Bengals tires. It's typically how the national media handles buffalo teams. Even when they are great they find someway to try and bring them down. When they discuss the early 90s teams, do they sit there and talk about how huge of an accomplishment it was to appear in 4 straight super bowls? The majority of the talk outside of buffalo is about how they lost all 4. This team could have a perfect season and the talk would most likely end up about how they had an easy schedule, or about how a media darling team (pats, cowboys, etc.) Were the truly better teams but an injury or bad call or tougher overall schedule held them back. What have the cowboys done to deserve the benefit of the doubt over other teams recently? You would think that beating the Broncos and falcons with a very close loss to the Panthers would have them as regular favorites over a 1-3 team, whos win came agaist the Browns, by now you are correct, beating a 1-3 team who just got their first win against the Browns is the way you make a statement. Not beating actual top tier teams like the Broncos and Falcons after holding down the Panthers and almost getting a win their too. You really think the media is going to be sitting their after a win against the Bengals and say "I was skeptical about the Bills after they beat ATL and DEN, but now that they beat the 1-3 Bengals, I'm sold that this team is for real!"? If they aren't sold that this team may be good by now with how they started the season (sure they may have had similar records in previous years but who were those wins against?), this game is t going to mean anything if they win. It will be, yeah they beat a team they should have beat. And if they lose it will be, same old bills..... It's not like the Bills are winning these games, or almost winning these games because of a fluke play or major luck. They are playing good defensive football and good special teams while not giving the ball away or taking stupid penalties.
  5. The issue with dealing him isn't that teams won't be willing to take on his contract, especially if they expect they can get the production out of him that he had during his first few years. Teams will give up something to get him (might not be great, or something where we are all happy cause it will be viewed as a fair deal, but it will be something) The problem is that the bills can't do anything right now to trade him without absorbing a huge cap hit because of the acceleration of the bonus money they gave him. If it wasn't for that, they probably would have done it already. But because it is a huge amount they have to absorb now and can't spread over time, it's preventing them from moving him. He isn't someone that's immovable, teams will be looking to make offers if they make him available, but they can't afford it under the cap this year
  6. It really may just mean nothing, just that its something he preaches Over, and Over, and Over, and Over again all the time, to not turn the ball over. That can be obnoxious having to hear it over and over, but sometimes it just works
  7. Yeah, the Colts are learning about that now...........
  8. and yet no team has even made an attempt to snatch the first ballot HOFer right off the bills practice squad either. All those stupid NFL front offices that can't see what a bunch of internet arm chair GMs can see from watching a couple preseason games.... 3-1 with the WRs they had, almost 4-0, playing against 3 of the last 4 Superbowl teams, and yet they are still winning and very well may continue to keep winning because they have created an offence that doesn't rely on having a superstar cast of WRs and are using the TEs and RBs more in the passing offence.but hey, they didn't bring up the HOF PS player or sign one of those available Pro Bowl WRs just sitting o the market right now so DOOMED!!!!!
  9. So it will now be Bengals by 5? Because the bills have to earn the respect, and the Bengals beat up the Browns!
  10. Wait, I thought they were but Taylor can't throw or doesn't look for wide open guys? Dancing with the 'D' List celebrities?
  11. people do realise that Whaley was here for a while, and during that time probably atleast 80% of the roster was turned over to "his guys" that were obtained during his tenure. A new coach and GM come in and are going to make roster moves, which are going to involve cutting guys that the previous guy brought in (Whaleys guys), so its nothing new that they would be "getting rid of Whaleys guys and bringing their own guys in". Also, Not every player fits every scheme, and their many players, especially defensive players that specialize in one scheme and struggle with another. Its also widely known that it takes different players to play a 3-4 or a 4-3. When you make a change like that, alot of players may need to be moved when the previous regime brought in guys who were specific to the one scheme. The current guys aren't dumping the guys already here that Whaley had brought in to replace them with guys who are clones of the guys being let go Washington may be one of those players that isn't a fit for the defence they are trying to run, and therefore they were looking to move him and get something for him instead of trying to force a round peg into a square hole
  12. the talk is that they didn't want them to leave San Diego, I think they expected the Raiders to go to LA with the Rams.
  13. 37? He looks like he would still get carded trying to get into a club/bar Definitely get the vibe that the coach will be gone very soon, before Eli....
  14. Yup, there's some talk the NFL may be trying to push the Chargers back to San Diego...... someone on the Eagles sad it's sad, the chargers are playing 16 road games this year
  15. It's funny how the bills always have to 'earn the media/publics respect' because they have been mediocre for years, but no one else seems to have to do that. They lose to GB in OT, the week after changing OC, which is usually good to spark a week or 2 of much better play, then beat up on the browns, yet buffalo beat the defending NFL champions who were undefeated, the Broncos who were also undefeated, and lost a very tough close game to a Panthers team that just beat the Patriots, but it's the Bills who have to 'earn the respect'. The bills are supposed to be scared of the Bengals defence? Like They were the Broncos defence? Let's see what Dalton and the new OC, can do when they have to face a NFL caliber defence and not the train wreck that is the Browns....
  16. What do you expect? They only beat Denver and Atlanta, and came within a catch from beating Carolina and being 4-0. The Bengals were 0-3 until beating the juggernaut browns today. They deserve the respect..... Typically when the home team is favoured by 3, it means it's basically a tie. They always give the home team 3 just for being at home
  17. This could be right around the time that Cincy loses their 'new oc smell' and come back to where they were before....
  18. because he is not elite because of his numbers or production, he is elite because he is a decoy to distract everyone else
  19. so tonight north Korean launches nukes and the world ends?
  20. drop for the bills because they beat a banged up falcons and an increase for the falcons because they lost a close game missing some of their best players......
  21. it is a divisional game, and the Bengals look better after changing their OC, I figured a Bengals win, but thought it would be closer
  22. apparently Haslam had a conference call with management, sounds like there's an issue between coach and GM, and even though Haslam wants continuity, one of them may end up out if it continues
  23. It was a weird play. It almost looked like it came loose, he regained control , and then lost it as he made the throw pushing it. Shocked they gave it to them
  24. NFL paying back the falcons for the Superbowl choke job?
  25. Yup, I guess Cartman messed with all 3 of the big devices (Amazon, apple, and Microsoft) He would say things to his device on the show and if you had one yourself at home it would pick it up as if you were saying it to the device.
