  1. He's good on occasion, not great, ever; let him go. Good luck, Mr. Schobel.
  2. Nah, I'm really glad I opened this thread with a nondescript title and a bunch of crap that I've been reading all autumn.
  3. Some good coach somewhere might, MIGHT, turn Trent Edwards back into the QB he could have been had be not been coached into cowardice. The man had no line, and a HC who preferred 1-yard outlet passes on 3d and 13. Nothing Trent can do about that, and I really do think it killed his development. But I don't think that somewhere is Buffalo, and I don't think that some good coach is here (or will be). Edwards might be a decent QB someday; he may even star. But he won't do it here. Good luck to him.
  4. All this "rooting for a draft position" stuff has some merit to it, but let's not forget that free agents are part of the equation, and they want to go to teams that have a chance of winning. For every game the Bills lose, yeah, they get a better shot at some unproven college kid, but they also damage their chances of landing a good, proven FA.
  5. No it isn't. Having a few drinks and "hooking up a nice grill scene" is, though. I can't stand people who are wasted at games, no matter what they look like or what they're listening to. There are too many fans for whom the game is ancillary to the alcohol.
  6. I have no idea whether he was a good teammate. Perhaps he wasn't--in fact, given what you wrote, he probably wasn't. But given his public actions, and even the way I personally had seen him act in public (same neighborhood), he seems like a good person.
  7. That, and he's a good person. That's why we like him.
  8. I love it when people on a discussion board pretend that there should be no discussion. (I don't even care about Tebow; this is just stupid.) And crayonz, nicely done. Or do I mean nicely did? Or did I meant nicely do?
  9. I just ran the sim with no changes other than moving QB to P1 and OT to P2. Colt McCoy in the first round. Ick.
  10. I wouldn't make any changes except perhaps not have a P1 player at all.
  11. Same here. Seems like an all-around good guy with a surfeit of enthusiasm.
  12. It doesn't hurt Ralph much at all for a "bunch" of season ticket holders to not renew.
  13. They absolutely do! This team is not a QB away from a Super Bowl. I don't know much about LeFevour, but no matter whom the Bills draft (if they draft a QB), he will need at least 2-3 years just for the team to be good.
  14. Saw that yesterday. F that dude. He's immune to consequences (he's a local sports reporter), but I won't believe a thing he writes from here on out.
  15. I really like Schopp and the Bulldog during the week. I really can't stand their postgame bitching about a win. This is ridiculous. Why run in for that last touchdown? To show the league that you're back. To give the fans, who had enough faith to go to the game, something to cheer about. They're worried about a Ted Ginn runback? A seventeen point runback? Give me a break.
  16. I'll bet that you're another of these out-of-towners who doesn't care if the team leaves town, aren't you? Or just a troll. If you're a fan of the team, why would you criticize people who are going to the games? What a joke, indeed.
  17. Correct. And as for the "Toronto's team" arguments, they ring hollow: The Jays can't sell out, even with $2CD tix, and the Raptors are hopeful to be on par with Toronto's MLS team someday.
  18. I would gladly trade a blackout for something that might adversely affect any designs Toronto has on the Bills. (And I have Sabres tickets that night, anyway.)
  19. Shoddy tackling by both teams' secondaries. But a fun game to watch. NFL, take note: this is what football looks like. It doesn't look like a string of commercials for crappy Buicks that no one wants; it looks like this.
  20. I've felt this way for years. In a 3+ hour game, there are fewer than 10 minutes of actual action. Announcers are horrible. Commercials after a touchdown and then after a kickoff kill any flow there may have been. The officiating is inconsistent. The play itself has become boring--with a couple of exceptions, it's like the whole league has gone the way of the NFC East, circa 1989. If it weren't for the Bills, I wouldn't watch the NFL at all--I'd stick to college ball. But, unfortunately, I'm a Bills fan.
  21. Classy move. The guy made a mistake, apologized, has paid or will pay a fine, and then took a step that he didn't have to take. He doesn't need the good PR coming from it (what the hell does he care about what we think of him); it just was a nice gesture.
  22. I ended up listening to quite a bit of this as I unexpectedly had a long evening drive. Parts of it were hilarious, all of it was entertaining, and I learned a little bit about some movies I hadn't seen (but probably will now). All in all, not a bad use of a couple of hours by those radio hosts. They did talk sports as well. I, for one, am glad that they didn't have four hours of "Edwards sucks," "Vanek needs to produce," and "Jauron is an idiot," for a change.
  23. The Bills tickets likely will be a LOT cheaper. I have--already--two sets of people who have asked whether they can buy my tickets to the Penguins game, which is a "gold" game, and don't forget that Pens fans travel and will buy up loads of tickets themselves. But it is a game with more meaning, and it probably will be more fun. On the other hand, if the weather is nice, you could have yourself a merry little tailgate out in OP, and that could be a lot more fun than hanging out at Pearl Street Brewery or City Grill. You also might have a better chance of seeing a win, believe it or not, if the Colts have everything sewn up and don't start their first-teamers. Pittsburgh is going to give the Sabres a headache.
  24. Of course, there's not presently a way to tell, but I believe they would have winning records. Maybe even 10 or 11 wins in a season. That's not too far from where they are now, though.
  25. Now 57% are wrong, including me. Even cooler.
