  1. Totally agree. Re: Smerlas, you can only wear it if you're on the wrong side of the line of scrimmage.
  2. Why is he being defiant?
  3. Exactly. Depends on the QB. The top five or six probably have significant input. The bottom five or six, probably none. In between, well, it's probably a sliding scale. Kelly probably had a lot of say; Ferragamo or Mathison, probably not as much. Johnson/Flutie? Probably some say, but not a lot.
  4. They really need to complete the trifecta with Akili. EDIT: Even better, with Paul Smith, who is probably better than the whole lot.
  5. Gus is awesome. Steve Tasker, not so much. Albany folks: the map website has an update in the comments section that acknowledges that the Bills game will be shown in Albany. http://the506.com/sports/?p=564#respond
  6. I hope he has a better record in the playoffs than Sayers.
  7. King is really going all out to earn his salary, huh?
  8. Don't tell people that in the game day chat; you'll spend the rest of the afternoon arguing. Trust me. (But I agree w/ you and G.E. on the fourth down decisions.)
  9. Good depth signing; were the Bills really going to go into the Cincy game with one healthy tight end?
  10. I've got these two really good friends, each of whom are half Cherokee. One hates the Redskins, and she spends a significant portion of her time--professional time and free time--trying to eradicate such nicknames from sports. The other moved to DC about a year ago, and adopted the Redskins as her favorite team (she never lived in an NFL market before). I never know which one is right. Personally, I do not like the name "Redskins," but I do not have a problem, with, say "Chiefs." Or "Fighting Irish." I guess the middle ground (between my two friends) is probably the right idea.
  11. Well, your friend hasn't the talent to rip Buffalo well, apparently. We've all seen it done; we've all seen it done much better than that. And it remains a great place to live (I moved back after ten years, and I love it). Your buddy needs a little more creativity, and less use of his thesaurus, though, to make it funny. Plus, he's from Philly? Well, whatever, I guess. Good luck to him. Good luck to you, in North Carolina, too.
  12. NYC hosts a lot of competitive eating events, right?
  13. Don't know if you were speaking about me, but I don't miss him. He didn't fit with the Bills as far as on-field play was concerned; he merely fit the Bills' need for a name while the Bills fit his need for a home. Owens didn't add much in Buffalo, but that doesn't mean I hate him, either. I think it will be fun to watch him in an explosive offense. (I know, the Bills' offense last year would have been explosive, except the Bills didn't have a good quarterback, O-line, tight end, coordinator, or scheme. But hey, it was close.)
  14. This has nothing to do with his status as a Bill last year. I think it's going to be a lot of fun to watch the Cinci offense in 2010. A lot more fun than watching Owens as a Bill, as a Cowboy, as an Eagle, whatever. The Bengals on O are going to be fun to watch. That's cool (and it doesn't really detract from the reBillding Bills, either.)
  15. On draft day, I thought the Bills had more important things to do with the ninth pick overall. Lynch's actions since that date have made me appreciate this pick.
  16. There are some great runs in that video (although I had to turn the music off). That last one against Maryland was outstanding.
  17. That's where the "time may prove me wrong" part comes in.
  18. As above, there was no intellectual humor there. So far, you're missing an L, two apostrophes, at least one comma, and a point. But thank you for explaining the intellectual humor to me.
  19. I will admit that the video approximates my reaction. I just thought there were other, more important needs. Then McGahee--sorry, forgot he changed his name to Lynch--stopped showing up, and I thought again. Maybe the Bills do need another RB. But even with that hindsight, I really wanted to see a QB there. Time may prove me wrong, but I do think Clausen is going to be a very solid QB in the NFL.
  20. Before everyone jumps all over the OP, the actual article includes "Females Addition" in the title. I can't believe that someone with a relatively professional-looking website doesn't know the difference between "addition" and "edition." I pretty much decided not to read the whole thing as soon as I saw the title (but I did scroll down to the Jenna Fischer portion).
  21. I agree with this part--but I think it's subconscious, and not a concerted effort. I.e., the good teams get the calls. It's always been that way.
  22. The guy went to the wrong places (free bisons tix with dinner should have been your first clue), and it's the city's fault? Hilarious.
