  1. I seem to remember a Bills DE that played in a 3-4 and got after quarterbacks pretty damned well.
  2. Pete beat me to it
  3. I had the opposite experience during the Flutie game. And all I was wearing was a Bills ballcap. (I mean, that's the only team-branded apparel I was wearing. I was fully clothed at all times.)
  4. Probably not, but there are many holes to be filled, and if the right QB isn't available in 2011, it makes sense to wait until 2012. It's not like the team is a QB, or LB, or DE, or whatever, away from making the playoffs.
  5. You've touched it with a needle. Look, for me, it's Luck, MAYBE Mallett, and if not, a serious lineman (don't care which side of the ball) or 'backer. If those qbs stay in school, hell, it's one more year of Fitz. Rebuilding is not going to be a one-year deal, anyway.
  6. What I want to know is why there was no flag on the play. The Cheats get an offensive pass interference call on that play every time.
  7. I get the premise; I voted the second choice; I do not think FItzpatrick will play this well all year.
  8. I don't want to get rid of helmets, but the rest of this identifies the root of the problem: when football became about hitting, rather than tackling, we started to see more injuries and poorer defense. I've seen enough receivers bounce off of a hockey check by the defender and gain ten more yards, when the defender simply could have wrapped up and stopped the play. And of course, classic tackling presents less of an injury risk.
  9. That sounds awesome; you're a lucky man.
  10. I'd love to hear Wawrow's opinion on this: how far can they go without losing access?
  11. A guaranty that the team will be in Buffalo for 25 more years.
  12. For the haters...Mendola has a show on 1230 AM most weeknights.
  13. Good. He belongs in Stillwater.
  14. I just find them entertaining. Even the stuff that pisses most people off, like a country draft, amuses me. Sports and humor are mindless stuff--perfect for the shower in the morning or the drive home after work.
  15. It's not, but it is based on my own experience living in and visiting numerous cities, so maybe it's incorrect. Most cities that I have lived in and/or been to have a lot of nationwide programming on the sports station. When I was in Washington (for a long time), virtually everything on 980 AM was a syndicated show.
  16. Alabama? I hope he ends up a Cowboy. Would be cool to see him follow his dad.
  17. Frankly, most cities don't have as much local sports radio content as Buffalo does. And for a so-called "small market city," I'll bet we're almost unique. That said, I listen because they entertain me. They might not entertain you; that's ok. You don't have to listen. And apparently, you don't even live here, so why do you care?
  18. Exactly. There is nothing wrong with posting a link to an article. Take issue with the description if you want to really mince words, but it was a good link to a good article.
  19. Spot on. That's the way hockey does it (game misconduct and then an evaluation of whether a suspension is appropriate), and although the NHL has some distance to go still (the suspensions should be longer, considering the 82 game season), it's a step in the right direction.
  20. Huh? All I'm saying is, Lewis didn't acknowledge that the Bills would be any type of obstacle at all.
  21. Actually, he didn't; this is the quote from the article: “We are going home and then we are going to the bye week,” he said. “It’s going to be rough on Buffalo.”
  22. My point is that I don't think that much of a 99 QB rating when it's only earned because defenses play light when a team is up by two-plus scores in the fourth quarter. Check out when Fitz gets his numbers. I don't think he's been a particularly bright spot; he just hasn't been as dark as some of the other "spots," as you call them. I don't hate him at all, or want him off the team, or anything like that. I do think he'd be an excellent mentor for the right young quarterback from Stanford, but not for every young quarterback from Stanford (as has been demonstrated).
  23. Seriously. Talk about being selective. Hey, OP, no Mannings? No Rivers? No mention of half of the class of '83? This is jackassery.
  24. Actually, you didn't. Look up.
