  1. Actually, you are right on this point. I did some research and found his position is actually titled Director of Pro Scouting. In this capacity he is not tasked with college scouting.
  2. Most Pro Personnel scouts perform dual rolls in scouting pro and college for talent. In the case of Jacksonville they have no Director of Player Personnel.
  3. Actually, the Director Of Pro Personnel is responsible for heading the scouting personnel for both the college draft and pro talent evaluation. Please explain the following in detail. Why do you believe the position as Chris Polian served is different than how it's outlined for every other Director of Pro Personnel as identified by the NFL? While Bortles did have some struggles as a rookie, virtually everyone believes he upgraded the position for the Jags when installed as starter. Most agree he showed enough athleticism, leadership and toughness to earn his job as starter and position taken in the draft. Please defend your position against this consensus, and provide specific examples of other insiders who share your opinion. So, you conveniently chose to ignore his long history of successes with Indianapolis to focus on the season that fell apart without Manning? Guess that means you believe Bill Polian is also an abject failure since he was his boss at the time. Please clarify the following. Provide a detailed explanation of why you apparently believe Bill Polian doesn't deserve credit for the success of the Colts franchise, and why he is not worthy of being a to be a hall of famer. Provide credible evidence of your inferred claim that Chris Polian was not responsible for the success of helping build the Colts, and before that the Panthers, to prominence in the NFL. Give sourced evidence to defend how you apparently believe Whaley would have done a better than the Polians if placed in the same capacity when nobody else in the football world would ever make such a ridiculous argument. It is widely believed in football circles that Whaley has made very expensive mistakes at the top of the draft, and his FA success has been mixed at best. Against all conventional wisdom, Whaley kept CJ Spiller on the roster when the team had a window to trade him for some value. He also bungled the QB position two years in a row, first signing damaged goods QB Kevin Kolb without doing proper due dilligence, and then left the position in chaos thispreseason, waiting until the week of the regular season opener to overpay for journeyman Kyle Orton, who eventually took over and did a sub-par job in relief of his top pick bust EJ Manuel. These are only some of the reasons he is widely regarded to be in over his head. You apparently have the contrarian opinion, therefore please explain beyond reasonable doubt why your minority opinion has merit.
  4. If Bill Polian comes aboard it will most likely be in a VP of Football Operations capacity, or possibly a consultant role, with his son Chris as GM. Russ Brandon would be moved completely out of football related duties and relegated to the business side of operations where he belongs. The Polians were very successful together in both Indy and Carolina, and in his brief time as GM in Jacksonville Chris got it right choosing Bortles with the #3 pick. Where Whaley is clearly in over his head as an NFL GM, the Polian's are savvy, experienced, have a staff of quality scouts at the ready, and are fully involved with the evaluation of this year's draft crop. Pug. And. Play.
  5. Graham can be a sensationalist (to say the least), so I take his tweets with a big grain of salt. Still, where there's smoke...
  6. I'm a big fan of Kellen Moore. Very smart, overachieving, accurate, mobile, and super competitive. No way Detroit would match offers for him, so I would sign him as a backup to push a B-level starter with playoff experience like Sanchez.
  7. Agreed. Before his collapse he showed moxie and put up some strong numbers for a bad team.
  8. Sanchez would be fine with me as a solid place holder for a year or two provided we also draft a QB for the future to develop in a proper way.
  9. Rooney rule makes a 3-day window worthless for an NFL move. Only chance he'd make a move is to return to college, and with Michigan filled by Harbaugh, and no other prestigious opportunities available, that ain't happening.
  10. A lot of internet buzz about Chris Polian to the Bills replacing Whaley as GM. I would LOVE this move. Whaley swings recklessly for the fences and invariably whiffs. Can't afford to do that with top picks at critical positions. Our organization needs a more shrewd mind for this position, and I think CP might be the perfect choice.
  11. Let it be, let it be. Let it be, let it be.
  12. No, it's not good news... it's GREAT news!
  13. N ow, if only EJ would make the same announcement it would be the perfect day.
  14. As I predicted from the start. Michigan has hired Jim Harbaugh as it's head football coach. http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/12091512/michigan-announce-hiring-jim-harbaugh
  15. So relieved that gutless wonder isn't returning. Clearly he cruised for paychecks this season...motivated only by the desire to avoid injury.
  16. YYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!!
  17. I love Black Monday...not sure why, but I do.
  18. Beckham and the 19th pick in the draft? Nobody in their right mind would walk away from that do-over. Whaley got some serious splainin to do on the EJ and Sammy draft decisions when he meets with Pegula.
  19. Marrone... where the hell else is that hack going? He's here until they pry his cold, dead hands off the football he was planning to call a punt with on 4th and inches from the opponent's 35 yard line while behind by a score with 3 minutes to play.
  20. You can't compare Sammy and Beckham. One is the greatest rookie WR in NFL history while the other is the 4th or 5th best rookie WR in his draft class. It's simply not even close. To put the two on any equal plane is to either be a shameless homer and/or a fool. Let's make one thing perfectly clear: Eli Manning is NOT the reason for Beckham's best ever season. Beckham simply dominated. Watch the games, watch the footage, watch the highlights, look at the stats. MAnning has never had such passing success in his ENTIRE CAREER until Beckham came along. Look at Manning's 1st four games this year WITHOUT Beckham. The IQ challenged buffoons who suggest Watkins and Beckham are equals probably also BILLIEVE that Chandler and Gronkowski are equals, with Brady being the only difference. It's complete and utter madness, and frankly sad to see.
  21. Prescient. http://www.cbsnews.c...ing-to-reports/
  22. That bottom article is the most intelligent assessment of the Bills situation I've read...and it EXACTLY mirrors my views.
  23. The once dire looking Michigan recruiting class now set to explode.
