No, going to any home games that will be played so I don't have the time or money to head down to the land of the Caniacs. If you make it up for any games at the Mmarena, drop me a PM, I'll buy you a beer and then we can see who will put who into the boards.

Which is what James suggested and you disagreed with. I disagree. I found it to be a good sign of consideration for my time and they are serious about the job. I wish a had a dime for every interviewer that ran late and wasted my time... 691644

I wish a had a dime for every interviewer that ran late and wasted my time... 691644 I agree w/ James on this one. If you show up at the receptionist's desk 15 minutes early and she calls to the interviewer 15 minutes early the interviewer is very likely going to be in the middle of something else. It is expected that people (especially job seekers) be on time, but it is annoying to have someone show up too early. If I set up a meeting with someone for 10:00, I expect to meet with them at 10:00, if I wanted to meet at 9:45, I'd have set the meeting up for 9:45. But yeah, make certain you aren't LATE, even if it means hanging out in your car for a while before hand.

I heard Clement say that and have no idea what he was talking about. In '75 the teams in the Semis were the Sabres (missed playoffs in '74), the Isles (missed EVERYTHING in '74 - 2nd worst record in the league), the Habs (who were upset in the 1st round by the Rangers in '74), and the PHLYERS that CLEMENT PLAYED ON WHO WERE THE DEFENDING SC CHAMPS! WTF is wrong with him? What he might have meant was that it hasn't ever happened and their statistician only looked back to the '75 playoffs (which is quite likely correct).

The open practices were a blast. Did you end up getting one of the Western Savings Bank sweaters? That and the shootouts were the best part. -
Buffalo Sabres Home Playoff Tickets
Taro T replied to \GoBillsInDallas/'s topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't know whether STH's got to buy additional seats back in the 70's, but I do know that every game from 10/15/72 - 11/12/80 was sold out. It was extremely difficult to get regular season tickets back then if you weren't a STH and IIRC there was a waiting list for season tickets. My dad could typically finagle a pair or 2 per season from friends of his that were season ticket holders, but it was definitely a treat to go to a RSG. I couldn't imagine getting tickets to the playoffs back then. STH's didn't get dibs on the "open practice" tickets. That was one of the very few events that you had a reasonable chance of getting tickets to if you wanted. -
Yes. The 1st color man that I recall Darling working with was Pat Hannigan.

Sabres to face the Hurricanes!

It didn't work for the Isles in '75. Bring on whichever one. There are pros and cons to playing either one. -
Apparently the ECF will start Saturday
Taro T replied to MadBuffaloDisease's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I would guess that the ECF's will begin on either the 18th or the 20th. If both remaining series are done within 6 games, then I'd expect the Sabres to be Carolina's opponent on the 18th rather than the Devils. If one or the other series go 7, then the winner of whichever series finishes 1st would probably play on the 20th with the other series starting on Sunday the 21st. (I'm assuming that the Carolina series will probably end before the Sharks series and that there are no rink availability issues (big if).) EDIT: NBC is advertising that the Sabres will be playing on Saturday. I didn't notice if they said it WOULD be the 1st game of the series or if they just said they'd be playing a game on Saturday. -
It also appears that is the only time a playoff series was decided by a shorthanded goal in OT.

Game 5: Buffalo at Ottawa, Sat. 7 PM EST
Taro T replied to Oneonta Buffalo Fan's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Considering that Carolina is missing Cole and the only way that NJ plays Buffalo is by doing something that hasn't happened since '75; I want Carolina. -
They definitely will have the "underdog" moniker back if Game 6 is necessary and the team has thrived (nearly) all season in that mode. IF Ottawa wins game 5, I have every expectation that the Sabres will play their best game of the post season on Monday.

Good bars to watch Sabres games in Rochester?

Forgot about that one. The Sportspage should be a real good place to catch the game. -

Baird Road Pub in Fairport would probably be pretty good on a Thursday / weekend but is very quiet during the middle of the week. Over on TSR some guys have posted that they go to Tully's and a couple of other places. If you checked on TSR, you could probably PM Briere48. He's from Rochester and tries to get people together on occasion. Also, a PM to Inkman might be helpful as he is also from Rochester. -
I want hot serious sex with any woman here...

Heck, Just because I know what the song was doesn't mean I had to like it. Unfortunately, had to listen to something women liked once in a while. Floyd, Zep, Skynyrd, ELP, Triumph, and BTO didn't work quite as well. -

The song was Mediate and followed Need You Tonight. EDIT: Yes, I do hate the fact that I knew that. -
Game 4: Ottawa at Buffalo 7PM EST

Prior to the NHL expanding the 1st round of the playoffs to a best of 7 in '87, the 2 3-0 comebacks were the only 2 times a team had ever come back from 3-1 or worse in the NHL playoffs. In '87, the Isles beat Washington in the the 4th OT on La-la's goal, after having trailed the series 3-1. Detroit paid back the Loafs in the next round repeating the Isles trick (minus the OT heroics). Coming back from down 3-1 has become fairly common in the NHL since '87, but it was truly rare prior to that. -
Pretty amazing stat about down 3-0

If there was too much gyration during the report's creation, trying to read it might cause some frustration. -

don't you hate it when posters include the original long post in their reply, thereby making the reply's even longer than the original post? 689035 Yes.

Yep. But although I won't say that Buffalo will definitely win tomorrow, I do definitely expect Lindy to have them focused and in a position to win tomorrow.
