  1. Who said anything about opening up our pocketbook? McCown wouldn't be too expensive and he's better than any Qb we have on our roster right now! Plus Levy stated he wants to bring another Qb into the mix and McCown is better than any of the QB's in the Draft after the first three are gone. Plus their aint no Offensive Linemen on the market worthy of anything. The Draft is where we will get out Linemen.
  2. I saw on KFFL where we had a visit set up with him but McCown had other visits set up in NO, Det and Miami. Well all three of those teams made moves for a Qb today so the market might be drying up for a potential landing spot for him. Any thoughts?
  3. I don't because even though the Saints just lost Darren Howard they could afford to lose him because they had former number one Will Smith sitting the bench behind Howard. Now that Howard is gone, Smith is a starter opposite Charles Grant. I don't see the Saints sinking that kind of money into another DE and I don't see them taking Hawk at #2 because thats too high for a him. I can see the Saints either taking OT Ferguson because they have a need at OT or move down. Just my 2.5 cents.
  4. Some of you guys are talking up Michael Huff but did you watch the BCS Championship game in which USC's LenDale White left tire marks on Huffs back after he ran him over. Huff's not the pick I'd want to make that high in the Draft!
  5. Or do you think it could be a terrific tandem of Triplett fast and up the field rusher and Ngata clogger and run stuffer?
  6. So much for taking TE Vernon Davis in the first round at pick#8
  7. Why would we even bother with Mawae at his age?? He'd be a good fit for a team just a player or two away not a team in the middle of an overhaul!
  8. Borders has all three - The Sporting News, Pro Football Weekly and ESPN's new Draft mag. I bought all three to compare them and I haven't gotten too far but in their Qb ratings ESPN says that Cutlers arm strength isn't too good---uhhhhh I hope the rest of their comments on the players are more accurate then that!
  9. You don't think Mawae will command top dollar? At his age he's going to want to go to a team that has a chance of winning it all. Buffalo won't be in the picture. Mawae would be a perfect fit for a team that's just a player or two away from winning it all. If the Bills waste their Cap dollars on him their nuts!
  10. This is the best link that I found for Mocks http://www.hailredskins.com/MockDraft.htm
  11. The reason? A Losing team and a Losing organization will attract a Losing mentality!
  12. Eric Moulds will not be in a Bills uniform this year! What are you guys missing?? Other than the last couple of games last year he had a bad year and his play has diminished as his age has gone up. He doesn't want to be a Bill anymore. He wants to go to a team that has a chance of winning the Bowl. The only reason he stuck around last year is because he thought the Bills had a chance at the dance coming off a 9-7 season the year before.
  13. I see your point in a way because I'll admit I bashed TD but he did a solid job on the business front and made several good moves (he fleeced the Falcons out of a #1 for Peerless and then used it on McGahee, he actually got a 3rd round pick for Henry which will be a top 3 pick in round 3 in this years Draft)...however the way the Bills are structured Marv will only be responsible for the football side as in overseeing the Draft and free agency...the Bills have some solid people in the organization to help Marv out because at his age - he will need help!
  14. Just wondering all these draft sites have Ngata to the Bills, but the team has stated that they are looking for smaller quicker guys.
  15. Exactly!!!! Plus at his age and decline in production, he's no longer a #1 receiver.
  16. I agree with you about cutting Moulds because he's not worth that kind of money but Lee Evans isn't a #1 receiver.
  17. For those of you that think the Bills will be dropping the ball if they release Moulds think again. He did come on near the end of the season but overall he didn't have a good year. His play has declined over the years as has his yards per catch which is a good indicator for determining whether a receiver is on the decline. Moulds would be worth about 1.5 million a year, tops at this stage not 5 or 10 million per season.
  18. I was watching the tube last week when a reporter asked Chiefs Coach Herm Edwards what the Chiefs were looking for in the Draft and Edwards with his voice raised told the reporter "WHY WOULD I TELL YOU THAT INFORMATION, I dont need the rest of the league to know what we are doing" Marv needs to follow Herms lead because he already told the rest of the league these two tidbits: The Bills wont be drafting a QB in the first or second round. The Bills will be looking for smaller quicker D-Linemen. It might not seem like much, but every little thing helps the other teams when a GM shows his hand at this time of the year.
  19. Thats My point!!! As in right now the team sucks!!! Right now!! With that said however, we might be able to add some talent in Free Agency and in the Draft and if we do we could be competitive. But as I pointed out our puzzle has too many pieces missing for us to turn this around in one season. If we're lucky we could add lets say four starters in Free Agency and the Draft which isn't enough to make this team any more than a 6-10 team at best. I'm hoping for the best and am willing to give this team a chance, but sorry to say Im a realist!
  20. Take a look at that schedule and tell me where we will win even 7 games this year. Home - Wins - Jets, Packers, Dolphins Maybe and Titans Maybe. Away - Jets Maybe (but I doubt if they sweep them), Lions maybe and Texans maybe That would be 7 wins IF the maybe's turn into "W"'s. More realistically 6-10 like I said before and that would be a GOOD year considering: We don't know who are QB will be. Willis needs to seriously step it up this season. We don't have a reliable TE at this time. Our Offensive Line is one of the WORST in the league. We need a #1 WR. Our defensive Line is one of the WORST in the league. Our Lb's are good but probably not pefect for the Cover2. Our safeties are ancient. Our Corners are solid. Bottom Line - And Marv once said it - To win in the league you have to run the ball and stop the run, we don't do either and as I pointed out we have some serious holes to fill to even think about a sniff at 8-8. This team is piss poor at this time and needs a serious face lift to get back into contention. Period!
  21. You Think? If there's anyone on this board that thinks the Bills will have a winning season in 2006 they're either nuts or diehard Bills fans. The reality is the Bills will probably be 6-10 AT BEST - No Candycoating, Just reality!!
  22. I'm on board for Darryl Tapp and continue to build that Defense. Tapp would be a good fit in our new defensive scheme and can supply some heat on the Quarterback. If you asked me 2 months ago I would have gone with Winston the OT but his stock has been going down.
  23. A high character guy that Marv likes and a possible free agent. The only catch is what would you do with JP and Holcombe. I dont want to give up on JP just yet but what the hell! I doubt if this will happen. Any thoughts?
