  1. Jauron or Sherman down to those two because the Bills have decided to hire a coach with previous coaching experience to please a group of players led by Takeo Spikes that talked to Marv about the situation. No time to comment further, but take it to the bank!
  2. I had to bring this topic back up again since he's in town for an interview. I'm getting a better feeling for Mike Sherman right now especially if he brings DC Jim Bates with him.
  3. http://proxy.espn.go.com/melkiper/
  4. You're missing the point! Why not? - Because this will be a rebuilding project that will take 2-3 years. What does Marv do? - Coach the team for 3 years and then hand it over to another Coach who will bring in his own people and he we go again. They need someone who they feel can Coach the team for 5+ years at least!
  5. Coaching these days in the NFL takes more out of a person than what you think! What future do the Bills have with Marv as the Coach? How long will he coach before he can't do it anymore and has to hand it over to someone else? IF the Bills were just 1 player away and had a chance of winning THIS SEASON I would say maybe, but not on a rebuilding team!
  6. Gibbs is 67 i believe Vermeil is in his mid 60's Marv is 80!!
  7. Anderson has been terrific this season but he's getting old Bell is about as fragile as my wife's china! Dayne is an old retread I wouldn't rule it out!
  8. Just watched the press conference and was surprised that Marv tried deflecting the questions asked of him about coming back as the Bills Coach. You could see it in his eyes he WANTS THE JOB! This would be the straw that broke the camels back as we would officially be the laughing stock of the entire nation if Marv were to take over as Coach!
  9. IT WONT BE HASLETT! Just remembered the controversy that he stirred last year about a 270 lb lineman taking roids and making the probowl because of it. Pissed alot of people off in the Bills organization and former players because they felt it was directed toward C Kent Hull. No way Haslett gets the job!
  10. I wouldn't be surprised if the Bills hired April because he will come relatively cheap compared to the other candidates. I Love what April has done with the special teams and I love his intensity but he has "0" head Coaching experience!! If I had a choice between Bobby April and Jerry Gray it would be April by a wide margin but I'd rather have a proven head coach with prior experience and a proven track record as in: Jim Fassel
  11. To answer your question directly - NO! I do care who it is because it may be the difference betwen sinking this ship or bringing it back on course and Ralph needs to spend some money this time on a solid candidate with a proven track record! Period!
  12. He's a quality coordinator and has a solid track record in the league as a coordinator but he;s proven that he's NOT Head Coaching material and that has been proven by the Bears canning him and his failure in his brief stint in Detroit this season when he stepped in for Mariucci. Even Matt Millen decided not to keep him on as Coach after this season. HIRING JAURON WOULD BE ANOTHER SETBACK FOR THIS ORGANIZATION! Better choices: Jim Fassel Mike Sherman Jim Haslett
  13. Talk about going in the wrong direction! Maybe IF we had a team that was like the Colts or Pats, but not one that will be rebuilding! it would set us back even more!!!!!
  14. He's right Ralphie is too cheap to pay any decent coordinator.
  15. I think he's only 62?? Marv was 61 when he took over. I'd rather have him then Haslett, Capers, or any of those other dopes out there. Playoffs?? Did you say Playoffs??
  16. Nothing against MM but the Bills rebuilding process will begin sooner if MM resigns.
  17. Marv said it himself "once you think about being retired ---you are retired!" or something like that. I can't see how he can stay on if he had to have this meeting. His mind will be divided between his family and his job and I wonder what Marv thinks of this since he oncen said that famous quote - even though quitting isn't the same as retiring.
  18. I'll add one more, how he fleeced the Titans for a third round pick in the April Draft (which is a top 3 in that round) for a troubled re-tread in Travis Henry.
  19. My next door neighbor knows more about football than Vic! And he's a mailman!
  20. I agree with you. There obviously wasn't much thought put into this signing by Ralphie since he called Marv and asked him if he knew of any GM candidiates and after thinking about it overnight Marv called back and said "what about me?" and of course Ralphie said "OK" and the rest is history. I like Marv and wish him the best, but this is the NFL not a fantasy football league!
  21. I listened for a bit this morning but didn't hear that part. I will say this, Howard has seemed to become more unprofessional since he left Empire for GR. There must be something in the water at the watercooler at that place!
