  1. Really hate it. But welcome Darby!
  2. Based on the video of that first interview, I agree. He had better things to say about Cassel, but he actually lit up when talking about TT. It's kind of crazy how wide open the QB race is.
  3. I agree about the Harley. I grew up in a Harley house...my mom, stepfather and most of their friends had Harleys. I knew that when it was time to ride I would buy a FatBoy...had the bike picked out and everything. When the time came, I started doing a lot of research just to make sure I was making the best decision and eventually convinced myself to go another direction though it was HARD to overcome my bias. During my research, I pretty much came to the conclusion that as a whole, Honda makes the best bikes. Unfortunately I couldn't find one that I really liked and that felt right for me. Next up was Yamaha, and I struck gold there with the Raider. A far better bike overall than the Fatboy and about half the price. The one thing Harley has going for it is the community. You can find Hog groups almost anywhere in the country to ride with if that's important to you. Oh yeah, their apparel line can't be beat!
  4. My only experience like this was McDonalds in high school. I had a couple managers who thought they were god instead of, you know, fast food managers and I wouldn't take their crap. After mouthing off a few times they took away my trainer pay and refused my raise I was due (probably a total of about a whopping 50 cents/hr. or something like that). I decided I was going to walk out a few days later. Waited until a manager I was friends with got off shift right around mid-lunch rush and walked out. It all seemed more dramatic at the time.
  5. Looks like it has Wi-Fi.
  6. It's great that you get to pick and choose statements from all of the posters on this board and lump them into one set of people. I question Petty as a developmental project QB because of his age, injury history and system. That doesn't mean I am dead set against him or have claimed that he will no doubt be a failure in the NFL; it's just an opinion on what I think about him. I also have never made any claims about EJ being a total failure, or about Cam Newton when he was drafted by Carolina. But yeah, you're the only one with a rational take on the draft. Keep patting yourself on the head.
  7. I do? I said his age coupled with his injury history, and later combined that with the fact that he is a project (especially given his offensive system). I think it's all valid when looked at as a whole. 24 by itself is no big deal, but he's had concussions, back injuries, and knee issues (although there are differing reports on the knee).
  8. Computer says 15.9. Been a while since I've done it manually, but it's usually close enough to the computer not to matter.
  9. My wife and I recently bought our "dream house" that we plan on retiring in. I'm very happy with it of course, but for now I'm on the road just under 2 hours a day back and forth to work. I'll be much happier in about 3 years when I have time to enjoy it more! The only thing I don't like is that it's very open, which is resulting in very high heating bills. But the layout is great, so I guess that's the price I pay. Does that mean you're not planning on moving back to Buffalo now?
  10. I specifically waited to start riding until I had "settled down" and trusted myself not to be an idiot. I grew up around riding and have known riders who have had accidents that resulted in everything from broken bones to paralysis and death. I love to ride, but I know the dangers of it. I always planned on going the small/cheaper bike route when I started riding, but I changed my mind when it was time to buy. I got a Yamaha Raider (1900) and I'm glad I did. As long as you go into it knowing you can't max out speed and fly around turns and corners, there's nothing wrong with a big bike. If I had bought it 19, I'd probably have killed myself out of stupidity. As it stands I've been riding for 5 years and haven't laid it down (yet). I'd say it depends on how much money you have to spend and how responsible you think you are. Can you afford to buy two or three bikes as you decide you want something bigger (it will happen). If so, that's probably the way to go. For me, I didn't want the expense or hassle of trying to sell my bikes along the way.
  11. Anyone being taken outside of the top two is going to be a project. I just don't see drafting a 24 year old QB with a history of injuries and concussions is the way to go when thinking about a developmental player. If they want to take a project (and dump Tuel and EJ if he doesn't win the job this year) I would be happier with Garrett Grayson. He's not likely to amount to much (like most QB's later in the draft), but at least you know you're getting a guy who has experience in a pro system.
  12. His age coupled with his injury history alone makes it a gamble the Bills shouldn't bother with. Add the offensive system he played in and I just can't see him as a desirable pick.
  13. Ah yes, certainly Penn & Teller know all about it. I do in fact know quite a lot on the subject, but honestly I don't care if you believe me more than the comedian magicians. I'm really not trying to sell anyone on MLM, just clarify the inaccuracies in the thread. There are lots of very detailed and informative books on the subject if you have enough interest in it to educate yourself.
  14. Then your rule of thumb is incorrect. It's really pretty simple, a pyramid scheme is a specifically defined, illegal action. MLM is a different type of sales technique, and you're perfectly within your right to not join and/or hate everything about the way it works, but at this point you don't really understand how it works, so you're making your judgment in ignorance; of course that's also your right. In my opinion, I'm annoyed by almost all sales techniques. I'm the guy that hangs up on telemarketers mid sentence, pushes past sales people by the kiosks in malls, etc... It all drives me crazy. But that doesn't have anything to do with a business being a "scheme", illegal, or in some way immoral. It's all just different kinds of business. EDIT: BTW, almost nothing "sells itself". There is always some form of advertising, even it's through word of mouth, and that's rare enough in the world of big business.
  15. MLM's are no different than most other sales companies. The problem now is that social media has allowed them to go from face to face sales (which is incredibly scary to most people) to the protected realms of online. A built in "friends" list makes it even easier for people to get started. The whole "pyramid scheme" misrepresentation is nonsense. Most companies have a "pyramid" structure with bosses at the top making more of the company's money based on the work of those beneath them. And just like any other company, you better do your due diligence before getting in bed with anyone asking for money. Some companies are good...some aren't. I could never do it, I just don't like dealing with people enough to ever be in sales (see the pet peeves thread), but I know a girl in Washington who started in one of these companies two years ago to give herself something to do while her husband was on regular deployments. At last check she was making about $350K per year and climbing (yes, she tries to get me to join regularly!). It's not easy money. She works her friggin ass off every single day, but she basically works for herself and gets to live her life the way she wants it. Honestly, sometimes I'm jealous and wish I had the personality to sell. I would love get out of my day to day drudgery, but I know I wouldn't be good at it and I can't afford to fail at a business venture right now. Anyone who craps on MLM as a business model doesn't understand it. It's a legitimate way to make money through sales. Crapping on the output (the non-stop sales on social media) on the other hand is perfectly reasonable. One thing that is particularly aggravating lately is being added to sales groups without permission. Anyone who does that to me is blocked outright...family or not.
  16. Seriously...how screwed up is this quote: "Her daughter 'felt guilty' because the 16-year-old was 10-inches long and huge, and if she had been able to take it he wouldn't have needed to rape her mother," the sponsor said. Including the fact that her AA sponsor seems to be okay with dishing all of this info publicly.
  17. Another "would ya" from the same site: http://www.nydailynews.com/news/crime/ga-mom-arrested-naked-twister-party-teens-police-article-1.2186085 So many just wrong things in that article.
  18. It's too bad really. I think there is a lot to be concerned about regarding our food supply, but the food babe does way, way more to hurt the cause than help it. On the other hand, anyone who is so obviously using her in order to spark their own crappy writing career (science babe) doesn't deserve the attention either.
  19. Those players have assumed they were going to win the championship since halfway through the season. The undefeated stuff got to their heads. I expected the loss. Too bad through; I'm not a fan of Calipari either and I'm glad he didn't win it all, but these kinds of stories are good for the sport in general.
  20. That seems odd. I would figure being one of the last Howard Johnson's would be better for business than anything they'll do.
  21. I saw a few in Vegas last time I went. They do telescope, but maybe not completely down to a small size as I saw a few walking around with them roughly the length of their arm.
  22. I understand your point, but I didn't know what the thread was about until I read the link in the thread, then I was honestly surprised that people care as much as they seem to (in the comments in the article as well as this thread.
  23. Guess I'm alone in thinking who friggin cares?
  24. Exactly. All review sites are like this. Go to amazon and you find a product with thousands of reviews and an overall 5 star rating and see how many 1 star reviews it has (plenty). When you check out a product or location with a couple of reviews, you're probably wasting your time, but when the numbers get high enough patterns form and it's pretty easy to figure out what the real deal is.
