  1. Good to see Syracuse showed up tonight. Surprise, surprise ... they actually play a decent team and get beat. The Orange lost to the Gators. Good luck on your crappy year. Go back to playing Albany, Binghamton, Towson St., and whatever crappy teams you schedule. LET'S GO GATORS. Syracuse is so bad I think the St. Bonaveture Bonnies could beat them. LET'S GO BONNIES, LET'S GO BONNIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Syracuse dodged them while they were good then refused to come to the Reilly Center to play them. Syracuse is nothing but a bunch of COWARDS.
  2. I am game for that. i tried PMing you but i dont know if it worked.
  3. Population is not a factor. It is the percentage of households that are watching the game in a given market.
  4. On Mike and Mike this morning they gave out the top 10 football cities based on average local TV rating when the hometown team is on. 1. Pittsburgh 2. Green Bay 3. Buffalo 4. Kansas City 5. Indianapolis 6. Philadelphia 7. Denver 8. Cincinatti 9. Tampa Bay 10. Minnesota Not a big surprise about the top 3. Notice some of the teams that are not on the list but claim to have the biggest fans (Dallas, New England). Granted this is local rating but it still says a lot on which cities love their teams.
  5. According to this website http://teamrankings.com/ncf/27powerratings.php3 USC's SOS is 63 while Texas' SOS is 94. If USC is playing high school teams, Texas must be playing midget teams.
  6. You are right. Poker is not a sport so when one of their stars dies it wont be listed in the sports section. Dont get the issue confused with your hate for ESPN. Last time I checked, the E in ESPN stands for entertainment. Some people find watching poker on tv entertaining, I dont so I dont watch it when it is on. Yes, we all know ESPN went overboard with the Tedy Bruschi thing but let it go.
  7. Cowherd was discussing whether or not his obituary or death should be noted in the sports section of a paper. Colin does make some radical statements but it gets ratings. He was basically saying that no one cares about wrestling (and that it isnt a sport) so why publish his death. Why should he be fired over this? He stated his opinion. The only thing he said that was bad about wrestlers was that they use steroids but Colin's producer pointed out that baseball players use steroids. I think some people here dont like ESPN and therefore any little thing they do they just rip. If you dont like Colin, then dont listen to his radio show.
  8. how about another crazy idea? Syracuse is overrated. They always have the worst nonconference schedule every year. They never leave New York led alone Syracuse. Syracuse is going to struggle in the New Big East. They have like 52 teams and alot of good teams. Syracuse missed 18 straight 3-Pointers and still won against a below average team. If Syracuse played a real opponent, they would have gotten waxed last night. Syracuse STANKS!!!!
  9. After reading the arguments for everyones Top 10 ... I was curious to see how everyone ranks the conferences. 1. SEC They have the most quality teams (Georgia, Florida, Alabama, Auburn, and LSU). They always beat up on each other. That is why I find it hard to think that Alabama can make it out undefeated. 2. ACC They have four quality teams (Virginia Tech, Miami, Florida State, and BC). I would take Va Tech, Miami, and FSU against any other conferences top 3 teams in a game at a neutral site. 3. Pac-10 They have three quality teams (USC, UCLA, and Oregon). A lot of people bang on the Pac-10 for being soft. I know this ranking of the Pac-10 ahead of the Big 12 and Big 10 will draw the most criticism. I think the Pac-10 plays a different type of football but I dont think that it is soft. 4. Big 10 They have alot of average teams (PSU, OSU, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Northwestern). I think they are down this year. All the teams just seem average and I couldnt see them beating some of the other teams on a neutral field. 5. Big 12 They have two or three teams (Texas, Texas Tech, and possibly Colorado). All the other teams in the conference are horrible. I dont even think Texas Tech or Colorado are a good team. 6. WAC They have Fresno St and Boise St. They could compete with some of the teams but this is where you get into the second tier of teams 7. Big (L)East This conference is a JOKE. All they have is West Virginia. If you would like to see the conferences and records for yourself feel free to kick up this website: http://www.collegefootballpoll.com/standings.html I look forward to everyones opinion. I already know I am gonna get banged on for putting the Pac-10 at 3.
  10. I hear that. I went to school at RIT and I am always kicking myself in the a$$ for not going to a Div 1 school with a good football team. If I did go back to school or could do it over again, I would definitely go to a school in the SEC or ACC in the south.
  11. Ralph can be cheap. Gregg Williams makes more as a Defensive Coordinator in Washington than he made as the Head Coach in Buffalo. With TD in charge, he really doesnt want a strong minded coach (See Pittsburgh with Cowher). As someone said before, some of these coaches they have interviewed may not want to come to Buffalo. The authors suggestion of Billick or Fassel is absurd. Brian Billick was suppose to be an offensive genius and a groomer of QBs. He has done neither of those things in Baltimore. Kyle Boller has been horrible. Fassel is the OC in Baltimore this year and their offense is not impressive at all. I dont think the author is saying those two are on the level of Gibbs or Parcells but would like to have a salary in the ball park of those coaches. Right now, all the Bills past coaches have had some of the lowest salaries in the league. Ralphie is cheap. I think the problem is at all levels ... the owner, GM, coaching staff, and players. The owner wont change unless he sells it or dies. The GM wont change unless the owner tells him to go etc. There is a pecking order.
  12. That was some interesting reading. I liked it how 3 of the Board Members were the only people informed on the new books. Two wanted the books and other didnt. The Geesey lady had no idea what the books were about, didnt do any independent research yet found it possible to vote on the subject due to what other people said about the books. I find that amazing. I guess if the others told her to jump off a bridge she would do it. I liked how the judge got involved. The Bonsell guy got called out at the end by the judge. It was very entertaining read. It helped my work day move along. Good find.
  13. I wonder if Pats fans complained about the Coors Light commercials and the Visa commercial with Tom Brady and the O-line. I wonder if Mastercard did the priceless ad because Brady does Visa ads. I didn't get to see it but it sounds good.
  14. I got a bet with my patriots fan roommate (who was a Bills fan but was disenchanted after 4 Super Bowl losses and switched to the Pats when they drafted Bledsoe) for chinese food. I really dont wanna pay for his chinese again this year.
  15. The Goonies. You can never go wrong with some Cyndi Lauper.
  16. It looked like she had a nice size rock on her finger. She looked young but could be a old young. I am going to guess that she is 24. Or she could be 16. But she was a very attractive gal.
  17. Mike Tirico and Mike Golic are doing the Bills game instead of Theisman, Patrick, and Maguire. Tirico does a lot of college games and is good. Golic is pretty good too. It will be good just not to hear Theisman. Hopefully no one for Denver will be coming back from a stroke.
  18. http://sports.espn.go.com/ncf/abcsports/BCSStandings 1. USC .9767 2. Texas .9729 3. Va Tech .9294 4. Alabama .8695 5. UCLA .7874 6. Miami .7566 7. Penn State .6905 8. LSU .6875 Clearly this is a three horse race for the top two spots. It will be interesting to see how much the gap will close between Tech and Texas if Tech beats Miami Saturday night.
  19. I was listening to ESPN Radio and some people are calling ND racist for giving Weis an extension because Willingham started out 8-0. I find this laughable. The reason Weis got an extension was to help ensure that some NFL team wouldnt come swooping in and take him from ND. I realize Weis can leave whenever he wants but the buy-out was increased. I think it was a good move because so far ND is playing better than they have recently. I would just use Brady Quinn's progress in Weis' system. Weis is making Quinn a lot of money. I think Quinn will stay for another year to increase his stock even more.
  20. Peter King loves all things New England ... especially Bruschi and Brady. He also loves Brett "I threw 5 INTs yesterday" Favre. I just puked.
  21. Yeah, Cowher does good during the regular season then he goes in the tank when the playoffs roll around. 1-5 AFC Championship record with all the games being at home. Bill Cowher and Marty Schottenheimer stink in the playoffs.
  22. Sundowners is the a very nice place to experience the Canadian Ballet. Everytime I went there, I always had a good time. They always have a lot of high quality dancers.
  23. I think Notre Dame made the right move but I don't think it should have come this early. I understand why they did it because I think every NFL team with a opening for HC for give Charlie a lot of money. I know there is a lot of buzz over Notre Dame's start but Ty Willingham started hot also. No doubt Weis is an excellent coach. The extension should help recruiting alot because it shows recruits that Charlie is going to be around for awhile. The Golden Domers could be moving back to the top.
