  1. Then we can hire The Ol' Ball Coach because when Matthews was at Florida ... Spurrier had him playing good. Spurrier + Matthews + Bills = Super Bowl Champs
  2. Penn State Fan and Texas Fan need to relax. Penn State needs to actually beat someone and dont give me "well Minnesota was ranked crap." Penn State had 3 gimme wins before Big Ten Play began. The Big Ten is down this year. If you dont take Ohio State -3.5 this week you are a moron. That is straight cash homey. Texas fan needs to simmer. When Texas actually beats Oklahoma, then maybe he can talk. Texas should beat Oklahoma this year but you cant trust Mack Brown. If Texas gets by Oklahoma, I sense Texas getting upset by Colorado somehow in the Big 12 championship. I hope Texas loses so it clears the way for the Men of Troy to take on Marcus Vick and the Virginia Tech Hokies. Beamer Ball versus Pete Carroll. That is a great National Championship game.
  3. You cant bench the whole team. The QB is the leader on offense. He gets way to much credit and way to much blame. Who would you bench on the D? The only changes could be on the D-line. The reserves in the secondary arent any better than the starters. Anyone have any suggestions on who they would bench on the D?
  4. You better get in your bunker cause the bombs are about to be dropped on you.
  5. I think there are two camps here: 1. Those that totally disagree with the move 2. Those that do not agree with the move but are curious to see how the team will respond to a QB change I am in camp 2. I thought they should go with JP through thick and thin. I didnt like taking him out of TB game or the Saints game. I do not see Holcomb's start as the end of the world though. Holcomn either wins or loses. Four games is a short leash for a first year starter but maybe the coaches know something that the fans do not.
  6. I guess one conclusion can be made ... JoeSixPack is not happy about the QB change. I think we can all agree on that.
  7. http://premium.si.cnn.com/pr/subs2/siexclu...1010/index.html I dont know if the link will work because you need to be suscribed to SI to view it but here is his list: Hit it big Ben Roethlisberger, Pittsburgh, 2004 (1); Miami (Ohio) His 15-1 record as a starter is the best by any QB to begin a career. But can he can play great in big games? Byron Leftwich, Jacksonville, 2003 (1); Marshall Already the clear-cut leader of a rising team. Fearless in the pocket, but the Jags better find a way to keep him from getting beat up. Carson Palmer, Cincinnati, 2003 (1); USC A touch of Troy Aikman (71.8% completion rate this year) with the long-ball ability of Dan Fouts. We could be seeing a very special player. Had some Success David Carr, Houston, 2002 (1); Fresno State Still a franchise-type quarterback with a terrific arm, but he seems to be regressing. Career touchdowns: 35; interceptions: 45. Eli Manning, N.Y. Giants, 2004 (1); Mississippi Cucumber cool. Last six games (14 touchdowns, five interceptions, 230 yards per game) show he's becoming a force to be reckoned with. On the Bubble Joey Harrington, Detroit, 2002 (1); Oregon Just not made for coach Steve Mariucci's precision offense. He's never completed more than 56% of his throws in any of his four seasons. Kyle Boller, Baltimore, 2003 (1); Cal New offensive coordinator Jim Fassel was making progress in teaching Boller, who's out until later this month with turf toe, to play less frenetically. Patrick Ramsey, Washington, 2002 (1); Tulane Showed signs he could be long-term QB (24 TDs ) but Joe Gibbs soured on him. Needs for Playing Time J.P. Losman, Buffalo, 2004 (1); Tulane Good mobility, good arm, questionable decision-making, little poise. Could lose his starting job to vet Kelly Holcomb. David Garrard, Jacksonville, 2002 (4); East Carolina Might be another Trent Green -- a guy who has to find a new home to have a chance to start. Mobile, fearless, good leader. On the sideline, but intriguing Philip Rivers, San Diego, 2004 (1); N.C. State Either he or Drew Brees will be quarterbacking in another uniform on opening day 2006. The Chargers love his arm and feet. Matt Schaub, Atlanta, 2004 (3); Virginia Great Mike Vick insurance. In training camp, Atlanta G.M. Rich McKay said he wouldn't take a first-round pick for Schaub. Chris Simms, Tampa Bay, 2003 (3); Texas Bucs coach Jon Gruden seems to have lost faith in Phil Simms' son. If Gruden hadn't been sold on drafting Cadillac Williams, he might have taken up Denver's offer of Reuben Droughns for Simms. Rex Grossman, Chicago, 2003 (1); Florida Poor guy: first the ruptured ACL in 2004, then the Achilles tear in August. No way the Bears can count on his being their QB of the future. Looking like a BUST Drew Henson, Dallas, 2003 (6); Michigan The owner handed the former Yankees farmhand $7 million to quit baseball. The coach buried him below Tony Romo on the depth chart. A storm's brewing over Valley Ranch.
  8. Since you want to get rid of the whole front office and coaching staff, they should get rid of everyone on the team. Bring in an amateur team or a CFL team to finish the season. Alot of people are thinking the benching of JP is the end of the world. It isnt. It is a QB change, they are quite frequent. Alex Smith was named the started in San Fran before the season then was benched before the first game. He is starting this week now. Young QBs getting benched in the NFL happens. I realize the frustration from some people on here. I think going in we (the fans) realized that JP was going to have some good games and some bad games. I would hope the coaches realized that also. Apparently the coaches are not willing to go through the good games and the bad games. All this bickering will get settled on sunday when the Bills take the field. Until then, piss and moan but atleast support the players. If you boo Holcomb right away, IMO you are a moron because he didnt make the decision to be the starter.
  9. If JP cannot handle getting benched after 4 games (I do not agree with the benching) and this cripples his career then was he ever really going to be a good QB. A few things can happen: 1. Holcomb plays like crap and JP starts against the Jets 2. Holcomb plays good and Bills win so they stick with Holcomb 3. Holcomb plays average and the Bills steal a win or barely lose (then the who is starting controversy begins) I guess I dont see Holcomb coming in to start the end of the Bills. I dont think Holcomb is a very good QB because usually career back-ups are back-ups for a reason. The key to JP's success this year was a killer D and a running game. The D is average at best this year and the coaches dont give the running game a chance. The worst that can happen is Holcomb fails miserably and the Bills try Shane Matthews (joke). If Holcomb stinks then JP comes back in and we ride the storm for the rest of the year.
  10. The Stewart Show is sold out at the RIT but plenty of tixs available for Rudy Giuliani.
  11. The preview is for a week. The Pens game is going to be on OLN so you wouldnt need to have Center Ice for that game. Anyone catch the shoot-out betweeen the Leafs and Sens? Dom looked pretty good in the shoot-out.
  12. Do you root for the name on the back of the jersey or the team they play for? I would like to see JP play also but if Holcomb can win games then so be it. This doesnt need to turn into another Flutie - Rob Johnson fiasco.
  13. So what would you do if JP struggled at the beginning of next year after sitting on the bench behind Brett Farve? Find the next over the hill QB to trade away future picks for? I think we have traded away enough draft picks for QBs.
  14. San Diego wanted to get rid of Drew Brees 2 years ago. They drafted Philip Rivers to replace Brees last year but Rivers held out and Brees got the starting job and won games. Now everyone wants Brees and are calling San Diego's front office brilliant when 2 years ago they were calling Brees a bust. Young QBs struggle in the NFL. Maybe the Bills should give JP a chance instead of keep benching him. I realize alot of his throws are usually overthrown or off the mark but these are the growing pains of a young QB.
  15. Didn't we just get rid of an over the hill quarterback that throws an interception at the worst time. Some people just need to face it, JP is the quarterback. No one likes losing but historically teams with first time starters do not do well. With the exception of Marino and Big Ben. Ride out the season with JP.
  16. Let me get this right, you want to trade a guy with 4 career starts for a guy that has 0 career starts. That sounds like a brilliant move. I may have forgot what was going to make this team a winning team this year. I thought it was a running game, a dominating D, special teams, and a QB who doesn't get in the way. It seems to be that some of those things are lacking. I don't think trading one inexperienced QB for another is the solution.
  17. I just heard the radio call of the run back. AVP went absolutely nuts during it. Murph and AVP sounded like they were getting tagged with taser guns. It was an exciting play and call. Probably one of the most exciting non-touchdown plays in awhile.
  18. A simple lateral to someone around him would have worked.
  19. Good defenses can get off the field on third down plays. It seems everytime they need to make a stop they just don't do it. Third and long has killed them all year. It happened to them last year also. Where are the turnovers? The Saints came into the game with a bunch of turnovers in their previous two games. Aaron Brooks loves to give the ball away. Where is a pass rush? I remember numerous times in the game yesterday where Brooks had all the time in the world. He was sitting back in the pocket and someone is bound to come open. The D was good against the run until that last drive but they were getting killed in the passing game. They need to generate a decent pass rush.
  20. I agree with your view of Patriots Nation. They aren't even the most beloved team in their area. They could win 20 Super Bowls in a row but the Red Sox rule that area of the country. I think that is why no one respects them because they don't even get love from their own fans.
  21. Anyone catch these shows last night? I thought Earl was pretty funny. Jason Lee is a pretty funny guy. He was always good in the Kevin Smith movies. The Office picked up right where it left of last year. The blatant use of stereotypes in that show are funny. I think NBC has a winner with both those shows back to back.
  22. http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/story...ne/050920&num=0 Saw this on ESPN Page 2. It involves the Bills and was a funny read.
  23. I think I am going to the Salvation Army and looking for TKO's Canary Yellow suit. It was a good show ... is it Sunday yet?
  24. Sullivan is correct about the 1991 AFC Championship game against the Raiders where the Bills won 51-3. The temperature before game time was below zero. I think we all remember the ending to the Super Bowl that year.
  25. Logged on this morning at 7 and got my tickets to the Atlanta game and Jets game. It will be good to see Ron Mexico (the local hampton roads boy) running around in person and getting pancaked by TKO. I hope everyone else as good luck as I did. 15 days till training camp ... IT IS FOOTBALL SEASON
