  4. his name isnt teddy bruschi so ESPN doesnt care
  5. I think the wheels are coming off
  6. How many times are they going to play "Theres a Hero today"

  8. The college football regular season can then be viewed as a playoff because if you get 1 loss during the year then season is basically over. But I know ... their can be multiple undefeated teams. I think things will sort themselves out in the end. I dont see Texas losing another game cause they play the easy portion of their schedule aka the BIG 12. Va Tech plays Miami next weekend, at Virginia and a possible date with Florida State on a neutral field down the road. USC plays UCLA, Fresno St and at Cal down the road. There are some possible losses on the schedule. I see no way possible that Georgia or Alabama will stay undefeated. They both have to many injuries. Even though Florida is playing crappy, it wouldnt surprise me if they beat a Shockley-less Georgia this weekend. Alabama has been squeaking by the last couple weekends and it is bound to catch up with them.
  9. I think I might watch the game in mute and spare my ears the horror.
  10. HOF Locks: Thurman, Reggie, and Troy I think Michael Irvin will get in this time around. Warren Moon will be close also. I don't think Andre gets in right away. Eventually he will but not for a couple years. The next couple years will have a lot of good players coming through for HOF condsideration.
  11. What do these stats prove? I guess I dont understand how these stats can be used to help rank the three teams in the BCS. But looking at the stats, they seem to be similar. If comes down to the end of the year and these three teams are undefeated, any combo of these teams should produce a good National Championship game.
  12. Miami and LSU have one loss also. Ohio State has 2 losses. Florida State actually beat Miami in the first game of the year. According to the BCS, Miami would get into a 8 team playoff over Florida State even though Florida State beat them. I guess what I am trying to say is ... how are you going to seperate the one loss teams from each other? The NFL playoffs are different because they have a set of tie breakers set up to distinguish between teams and the playoffs are based on records not votes. I would love to see a playoff because it would be like march madness. I agree with you, there is no perfect system and someones team is going to get left out. The football problem just shows how messed up the NCAA is. on a side note: it is good to have some friendly argument without the childish name calling which seems to dominate the bills arguments.
  13. A playoff might not solve the problem either. If you have a 8 team playoff, picking the first couple teams will be easy but when you get down to the final spots someone is eventually going to get left out. Take this years top 8 BCS teams. (I realize this is going to change dramatically but for arguments sake) 1- Texas 2- USC 3- Virginia Tech 4- Georgia 5- Alabama 6- UCLA 7- Miami 8- LSU Left out: Penn State, Florida State, Ohio State, Notre Dame, Texas Tech Some people would argue that some of the teams that are left out deserve to be in over some of the other teams in the playoff. There is no clear and concise way to name a national champion. In the end, things will shake out and the 2 top teams will be a top the BCS. Although, I do realize like last year there is a possibilty that there could be at least 3 undefeated teams. A playoff would be great but I think you will still have the same problems of who should be in it. On a side note: NO BIG EAST TEAM SHOULD EVER BE IN A BCS BOWL CAUSE THAT LEAGUE IS ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE. It is bad enough they get an automatic bid.
  14. I wouldnt put to much into the BCS this early. Texas' strength of schedule is going to drop while USC and Virginia Techs will rise. If they all win out, USC will be number 1 and Texas/Virginia Tech will be close for number 2. Tech plays BC Thursday followed by Miami then a date with florida state in the ACC championship game. That will be 3 Top 15 opponents. It will be very interesting to see how the BCS pans out in the future.
  15. I dont think it was coaching. I think it was Antonio Gates that improved Brees.
  16. I saw on two occassions a few bills fans trying to start crap with other bills fans. These two guys a few rows down were jawing with each other the whole game and both were wearing Bills jerseys. Also some guy in a TKO jersey was jawing with a group of Bills fans. I have only been to RWS to see the Bills but if I went to another stadium I dont think I would wear any colors. Wearing your teams colors to an opposing stadium just puts a big bullseye on your back. Going into the game you need to know how to act and what not to say or do so you dont draw attention to yourself because there is always going to be that drunk guy who will just raz you till something more than jawing happens.
  17. We all know that every big time college team play cup cake games then has a few tough games. Va Tech still has to play a rival game with UVA which is always a tough game. They have BC and Miami left to play then a possible date with Florida State in the ACC championship game. Also, I rate Va Tech higher than those teams because the ACC is the second toughest conference if not the toughest behind the SEC. Va Tech has been good for the last few years and shown consistancy where ND and Penn State (especially PSU) have been down the last few years. No doubt ND is a better team with Weis at the helm but someone complaining about their BCS ranking is off-base. You can make the same argument for Texas and USC. Who have they really played this year? Every Big Boy Football Factory only plays a few elite teams a year. There is always the cup cake teams in the beginning of the year followed by 2 or 3 good teams in their conference and the bottom feeders in the conference. I give Texas credit for going to Ohio State at the beginning of the year. But I think we have come to the conclusion that maybe Ohio State was a bit over rated coming into the season. You can make the same argument for the Bills this year about being in first place at 3-3. Who have they really beaten? Houston is horrible, Miami and the Jets should be home wins and they were. I just want to have a good National Championship game and I think which ever two of the three teams (USC, Texas, and Va Tech) that make it will be a good game. I guess I pull for Va Tech due to where I live. But I try to look at it objectively.
  18. Both Penn State and Notre Dame schedules are weak. The computer rankings take strength of schedule into account and both are bad. Notre Dame's schedule seems brutal but in reality it isn't. Pittsburgh is horrible this year. Washington is horrible this year. Michigan is in a down year even though they were ranked 3rd at the time of the game but that was based on preseason rankings. Purdue is average. Michigan State is average. USC is great. I wouldn't give NOTRE Dame any quality wins. On paper, ND plays alot of big name schools but in reality they are average schools that pad their record by playing cup cakes. I would say the same thing about Penn State's schedule. They haven't played any good teams. They are all average at best. The first BCS poll doesnt really matter anyways because there are some teams that are undeafeated that are gonna lose a game because they play another unbeaten (ie Texas Tech - Texas) and the two SEC schools are going to get a loss because they play in the SEC. Still hoping for a Men of Troy versus VA Tech National Championship game.
  19. I was sitting up in Section 314 and it was lawlessness. There was a fight at the beginning of the game to the left of us. People were just crazy. I think it was worse due to the 4:15 start. I was at the Atlanta game and nothing like that happened. I think most of the trouble occurs in the cheaper sections because that is where you get most of your group sales. A lot of those groups take buses up and just get tanked. It was definitely a rowdy crowd. The Yellow Coats had a busy day. It is sad but when you sit in certain sections of the stadium you can expect that kind of behavior.
  20. And he didnt go to a D-1AA school and/or a school in the midwest or in one of the Dakotas
