  1. there are approx 40 schools in each of the three classifications. So almost one half of the schools make it to the playoffs. WV is small. There are only 1.8 Million residents and 1.75 million of them can be found at any WalMart at any time of day
  2. How many times in the history of the NFL has a team rushed for 300+ yards and lost...? Has to be a record of some sort.
  3. Amen Jester,,,Monday will be a little better
  4. Question...Why do High school football teams play only 7 regular season games in WNY. When reading the Buffalo News, I saw the phrase "Season ending game" in many of the articles. Is this a new policy for 2009 or has 7 games been in use for a couple of seasons now. In WV, the HS teams play 9 or 10 games...Then the 16 top rated teams in each class begin a playoff process.
  5. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/soccer/worl...osta-Rica_N.htm Exciting finish. Costa Rica's coach and assistant coach were ejected in the last few minutes. Costa Rica plays Uruguay and the US wins their qualifying group
  6. 22 days,,,TSO in WV. Since there is no good football to talk about we might as well talk about good concerts.
  7. Now make his record 26--12 as a starter. I'd take him any day.
  8. I agree Jack... I can not remember the first Bills game I attended at the Rockpile, but I can remember the first big time football game I attended as a young lad.... Harvard at Princeton...
  9. This team could use a player with the ONE HALF the heart he played with.
  10. I concur with the "Shanko-Potamus" selection. Other commercial I watch every time is the Travelers Insurance commercial and the dog worrying about the bone.
  11. Mrs. Lew and I are both graduates of LP in 1971... Started dating January of '71. Got married in 75 Figured that we were in second grade together. ... and there was no hazing involved
  12. AMC Pacer ???
  13. Looks like a great tailgate. Maybe next year... GO BILLS...BASH the BUCS
  14. "We'll Meet Again" by Vera Lynn as the movie "Dr. Strangelove" ends. A recent NPR story about this song, rekindled this memory. Peter Sellers was brilliant in this movie IMHO
  15. Like the previous poster said, That reaction is the essence of being a Bills fan. The Tim Russert segment 'gets' me every time.
  16. Happy birthday you young whipper-snappers.
  17. TSW was my source for first hearing about WTC. Then we went down to the conference room and watched the news coverage for 2 hours.
  18. I hear you about number 1 on your list.......agree most heartily. The parade in Buffalo after the Bills win the Super Bowl will be the greatest celebration of all time. My only change is attending the Ryder Cup in th USA instead of the Olympic swimming
  19. Smoking cigarettes at age 11 or 12..."Borrowed" from my Dad's supply. Then lied about taking them, adding to my woes... As I received 'the belt' , I wondered if smoking was worth it and in my youthful mind, I knew it was not worth it,... Addios Joe Camel..... I will enjoy a cigar on the golf course, but that is mainly to keep the damn bugs/gnats away.
  20. Tickets are generally in the $45-55 range. And part of the proceeeds goes to a local charity such as a food bank in the area they are playing. Well worth it once you see the show. The 'convenience fee' is what really sux. TSO is here in WV in early November.
  21. Belated Happy Birthday wishes !!!
  22. Last night's Steeler offensive line was centered by Doug Legursky.. Second year player from Marshall and he went to HS here in S WV with my daughters. Steeler's o-line has been shaken up with injuries in the early pre-season training. Hence, Doug got to play
