Fill crockpot with boiling oil. Deep fry wings until crispy. Blot dry. Shake with favorite wing sauce. Serve hot. -
EV-DO Service with Verizon and/or Sprint
The Avenger replied to stevestojan's topic in Off the Wall Archives
Why not get a cellphone with both wi-fi and EVDO? I just got a Samsung i730 (Windows Mobile 5) and I love it - like having a computer with me. EVDO speeds are good - I usually get at least 300K reliably, but so much depends on exactly where you are. Verizon is a pain with their data plans - even their "unlimited" data plan isn't really unlimited - if they see you using too much bandwidth they send you a letter pointing out the fine print of their "unlimited" deal - no streaming audio/video, no tethering (using your phone as a modem for a laptop), etc. Fortunately I've found the best place for talking about all this stuff - people who know each and every smartphone inside and out (and how to get around the Verizon restictions!). Checkout www.pdaphonehome.com - you'll get all your questions answered. -
That's TWICE the limit! Somebody fine that man...twice!

Yeah - and those are the prices BEFORE all the service fees you pay for Ticketmaster, etc. And that's IF you can get the ticket at face value and go to the show - ever try and get a ticket to something like Springsteen or somebody who could sell out 10 shows but only plays for 1? Then you can't even get the tickets unless you go through a scalper and pay "market price" - usually a few hundred bucks. Whatever happened to $15 shows at the Aud?

These People Are Just Sick

I shudder to think about all the righties here who would be screaming out of their minds about how Al Franken was making money/profiterring from the troops if he had done something similar like allow someone to buy gift subscriptions to his fan club for the troops or send a copy of one of his books to a soldier as an incentive to buy one of his books. Here's the difference between Rush, O'Reilly and the Gap: Rush - not donating anything. Allowing others to BUY subscriptions to his fan club for someone else (you couldn't do this already?) only put more money in his pocket - the more memberships he sells, the more money he makes. What exactly is Rush's great service to the troops here? O'Reilly - At least Bill is DONATING something, but you can argue that he's using the troops to get people to buy his book. You can also say that this stunt allows Bill to inflate the number of books in circulation, potentially increasing his fee for his next book. The Gap - The GAP is DONATING all proceeds they get from Red to AIDS - the more they sell, the more they donate. The GAP doesn't make any money on what they sell here - it's strictly a charity thing (although if you're a cynic you'll say that they are using AIDS to get people into their store and buy things other than the Red line). -
Clinton? Don't you mean BUSH? He's already said his successor will have to be the one to resolve the situation. Amazing how rigt-wingers think the Bill Clinton is the root of all evil. As I recall, he wasn't the one who took support for a war on terrorists, added some twisted intelligence and brought our nation into war in Iraq. Saying Clinton washed his hands and left the tough stuff to the next guy when the poster child for such nonsense is our current president is delusional at best...

Terrible Football Story on ESPN.com

The questions you have to ask are: 1. By putting this kid in prison for 10 years, what benefit does it provide to society? My guess is "very little". 2. By putting a kid in prison for 10 years, what does it do to make him a better person for when he gets out and rejoins society? My guess is also "very little". In fact, he may learn some things in prison that he wouldn't have learned if he had remained free (how to commit various crimes). It also my diminish his opportunities in life once he gets out, making it far more likely he would commit future crimes. In essence, they may actually be creating a criminal in this case. If you can't show that this benefits society and doesn't do anything to protect society down the road I don't think the prison sentence is warranted - that's the bottom line. -
I LOVE it! The only thing better was the week 1 31-0 game a few years back - practically floated back to MA from Orchard Park... I really didn't think it would happen - after that first TD where 3 Colts fall on the ball and it squirts out to the end zone for a Pats TD was almost too much to take - really got me wondering how the forces of the universe would allow NE to lose. So glad to see the Pats fans whining - half of them already had tickets to Miami - choke on it!

The liberal media and the murder of Vince Foster certainly kept it under wraps

Actually, in 2008 the entire House of Reps will be up for election, so no guarantee that Dems would have a majority after the election. There will also be some Senate seats up for grabs - again, no guarantee of a Democrat majority, especially since the majority they hold until 2008 is as slim as it can possibly get.

To be fair, he's had to put up with the offensive line getting their stuff together early in the season (2005), and the game plan having JP on a very short leash - don't lose the game (this past season). Neither of those things has really allowed Lee to look good early in the season, but when these things are resolved he is able to show his great talent - I think he's a great receiver.

If you subscribe to a polytheistic religion they can both be gods - I bet in parts of Asia they are.

I love the way people are walking around in/near the street. When car after car slides around with absolutely no control - GET THE HELL AWAY - if they can't stop for a car/post/tree they certainly can't stop for your dumb ass. Remember - a fender bender for a parked car = serious injuries for a pedestrian.

Need info on overseas electrical outlets
The Avenger replied to Just Jack's topic in Off the Wall Archives
My experience is that items such as laptops that have their own AC adapter (not just a cord, but a brick-like adapter that sits between the cable from the outlet and the device - you know what I mean) and these adapters will do just fine in in accepting different voltages/currents from overseas (provided you get the correct physical adapter plugs to be able to plug it in). Where you get problems is with devices that plug directly into the wall, particularly those items that have a high wattage - hair dryers, curling irons, shavers, etc. - those can and do fry easily. -
Weather Channel Taken Over By Liberals!

Another excellent reason NOT to by the Nuke Alert keychain - it's just so unnecessary.... -

That is some funny stuff, particularly this gem: and then advertising "Nuke Alert" keychains. Hey dude - I don't think you'll need the radiation monitor - you'll know you're toast when you see the flash and are incinerated by the shock wave of million-degree heat that follows (if you're at a distance the mushroom cloud will serve as a good indicator). -
It looks like the Dolphins will lose the home game

My thought exactly - how the hell would the pinto get to GB? Ann the museaum of foodstuffs would certainly never clear customs quarantine for perishable items (even if they've already perished). Also, where would he get that much ketchup? The Brits generally don't use the stuff. -
So the deal is reportedly 5 years, $250 million - that's $50 million a year. Since when does MLS have the type of coin to pay anyone TWICE what the Yankees paid A-Rod last season? Baseball is infinitely more popular and the Yankees are a more valuable team/brand than MLS will EVER be. I don't get it.

The only thing this policy will do is ensure ticket agencies in So Cal will corner the market in these tickets. Like it or not, any sporting event, concert, etc. is open to the entire world now that there's ticket scalping (they call them ticket agencies) on the Internet. Back in the day when you wanted to see Springsteen at the Aud you had to compete against fans in WNY who wanted to see that show. Want to see Springsteen in Buffalo now? You are competing against people from all over to get those seats - most of whom aren't in WNY and have no intention of actually going to see the show - they're buying the tickets to feed the ticket agencies. Same holds true for football. The hotter the ticket, the more you'll see this. My guess is that for any online sales of hot tickets most of the buyers aren't fans of that team/group/artist, but ticket agencies or people buying to sell to them. If that's the sace, the SD rule simply means that local ticket agencies will probably get most of the tickets, not agencies in Boston or even St. Louis.

It's a plot to smoke Osama Bin Laden out of his cave - that dude digs Whitney. They'll pounce on him when he comes to pick up the rhinestone catsuit he won.

And they wonder why people try to carry so much onto the plane - it's because anything of value that is out of your sight gets ripped off by the thugs handling baggage and the airlines don't care to do a damn thing about it - absolutely shameful that they know how much stuff gets stolen by employees and they do nothing (they don't even notify the police).

Most NFL players - except it's called "Bling" and if you do it right you also have gold teeth... Now back to my rocking around the Christmas tree...
-
Let's see, an afternoon game on Christmas Eve, a time when most people are starting to gather with their families and can't afford to spend a few hours driving to/from various upstate towns, in an open air stadium, in cold weather and it didn't sell out - shocker! I wonder what attendance will be like league-wide for games on Christmas eve - I bet it's down everywhere, not just in Buffalo...

I'd like to take this moment to say

So in order to have a good Bills site you need to say the Bills will win every game? You're not ever allowed to think that perhaps the Bills don't matchup well againt the Titans and may (gasp!) give up more than 3 TDs? For that the site sucks? Look, everyone's entitled to their opinion, don't blast someone for it, especially someone who works hard to bring news and opinion to Bills fans. So what happens if the Bills DO give up 27 points on Sunday - do we get to say you suck and call you an assclown?
