This Thread is about Kyle Orton
DrDawkinstein replied to Brennan Huff's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Here's how low our QB experience and expectations were when we brought in Orton... I vividly remember the first time he ran a screen play that was covered, and instead of trying to force something or scramble around and end up taking a bad sack, he threw the ball in the dirt at the feet of the RB... and we all thought "Finally, a competent QB move. That's smart football!" That was how low the bar was, and why he looked "good" to Bills fans. edit: For evidence, see @Chandler#81's post right above this. -

Hahaha yep. And Rex wasnt "humble" enough to think these guys could teach him anything. He sure was "hungry" tho! -

I cant believe it took 20+ years for someone to actually do this. But am so happy it is McD. I dont think Gregg Williams would have gotten as much out of it. -
Panthers fire GM Marty Hurney

Damn you are fast! Will be interesting with the Bills/Panthers connection if they come back after Schoen or Morgan... -
Eh, this was their year to tank and get their QB. They already have 2 1sts, and 5 picks in the first 3 rounds in 2021. As well as 2 1sts in 2022. So it's rebuild time now. I do think they should decide to stick with Darnold and build around him. Maybe even trade down from #2 and really stack the deck. Any such commitments arent really worth anything. But I could see them keeping him, given the number of spots that are open already and the lack of candidates to go around.
-
True, but both the Bears and Colts want to win. And now sitting in the #1 spot and looking like he'll be retained, Marrone may want to keep it that way.
-
Another factor to watch for is if (when) Joe Schoen and Dan Morgan get poached from the FO for GM jobs. They might be very interested in luring Daboll to come along with them.

I dont think this is much of anything. But I'll never pass on a opportunity to ***** on Cousins. Dude is really unlikable. -
+ Atlanta, imo the most desirable opportunity that is out there.

Fans can celebrate, but a parade wont happen until officially scheduled. I'd expect the parade to get pushed more into late spring/early summer. -

Personally, I'd like to see him at DE -
It would happen if the numbers were right. But with the way folks behave, you are correct, it will never happen. Especially with Christmas coming up. And he may know this, but he still has to try to dangle the carrot.

Cuomo: IF Buffalonians can be responsible and bring numbers down, we can have fans for the playoffs. Buffalonians: LETS ALL GATHER AT THE AIRPORT!! Cuomo:

IMO, it sounds like he's dangling a carrot in the hopes people come to their senses, suck it up, play it safe for a month, and if everyone did what they were supposed to do to drive numbers down, we'd get to go to the games. It should have been the national position when this hit in February. But here we are.
