  1. In the box score and the mouths of the announcers, Eric King did not really exist against the Pats. In reality, he was tested once and had very tight coverage on an incompletion. Many times, Brady sat there looking at him and decided against it. Eric King is officially a Fifth Round steal. I will give the Bill FO credit - they can spot coverage talent that the rest of the NFL cannot. The rest of the NFL "discovers" coverage talent at the combine. The Bills actually watch the games.
  2. No question that Andersen is a disaster. Peters had a good, but not exactly a great, first outing. He had a TE welded to his right hip most of the game. He got beat several times late in the game. However, he did not embarrass himself and definitely should be given more time to get experience, as Gandy is no long term answer at OLT. Peters needs to learn to keep his head up and not overcommit to first moves. If and when the Bills get eliminated, putting in Peters at OLT and Geisinger at OLG really makes sense, as those two should start there next year.
  3. Peters got smoked several times late in the game, but, for his first start, showed a lot of promise. It is too bad he did not play OT for two years at Arkansas, because he clearly is not very experienced and it shows. Peters is, however, a very good athlete for his size and has potential.
  4. Peters did OK but was beaten badly several times, especially by McGinnest late. Still, he did do decently for his first start. Give him a few more. Bennie's ability to pull out and pick up the outside blitzer was non-existent - he whiffed just about every time he tried. Let's look at Geisinger at OLG.
  5. "I still can't believe he didn't make that catch" That's pathetic. The throw was behind Tim and the defender was able to swat the ball as it hit Tim's hands. Had the throw been anywhere close to on target, it would have been a TD. Tim has excellent hands and did a great job blocking last night.
  6. "Eric King who seems to be developing into a player" Yeah, I like what I've seen from the rook. I'd feel better with both starters and King as the nickel, but King just has it.
  7. True, but that was not the question. The question was Villarial the strongest Bill. Geisinger was an ALL SEC OLT his junior year. Give him some time to get used to OG and he'll be a fine player for years. Justin is very bright, athletic, talented, and well built for the NFL OG position.
  8. On the bench press, Geisinger has done over 40 reps.
  9. That is one of the worst takes of all time. Certain idiots in the media who claimed Gallery was a Boselli clone before the Draft tried to spin that Gallery played well. He did not. He sukked in preseason and was beaten out by Sims at OLT. At ORT, he gave up double digit sacks for the year. He did play better last night, although he almost always had TE help in pass protection - ie the coaching staff knows he sukks... And who did Gallery "beat out" last year at ORT. That would be Langston Walker, now the OLG, and the big stiff the Pats most abused last night... Being 6'7"+ and 320+ proves only that one is large, not necessarily good...
  10. But not by "everyone"... http://www.thefootballgenius.com/04draftgrades/oak.html "Rd 1 (2) Robert Gallery OT Iowa TFG is skeptical that Gallery is as good as Boselli and Ogden as is the guru consensus. TFG believes Gallery is a step below that - more in the Kyle Turley class. Hence, while OLT is an extremely important position for a team that will probably need a new QB very soon, this was a reach. Gallery is not that good. He is not a great athlete and is somewhat stiff. The better NFL RDEs will get by him. Despite his wonderful Combine stats, Gallery is really not a dominating run blocker either."
  11. Justin Geisinger has four years of SEC OLT experience, and hence provides depth at OT while learning OG. That helped to justify cutting McFarland as well as Tucker, who has injury issues and costs more against the Cap.
  12. Gragg is a stiff old ORT who did not cut it last year and has injury issues. He is no answer to the Bills OLT problem. Prisco and others commented that some told him the Niners way overpaid for JJ. The Niners were desperate for OL help because they insisted on keeping the #1 overall and wasting it on Alex Smith. The Niners also franchised a player with a torn Achilles and paid a $6 mil bonus to Kevan Barlow. Stupid is as stupid does...
  13. Lorenzo Diamond is actually an interesting #2 TE prospect - has real wheels and never got a chance. Lo fell into Denny's doghouse last year for whiffing on a block that resulted in a punt block. At Auburn, Lo played on a running team without a downfield passing attack. http://www.ffmastermind.com/2003/premium/m...dayresults.html Lorenzo Diamond (6-3, 253, 4.53/40, 4.28/SS, 7.28/3-cone, 17/BP, 34½"/V, 10’1"/LJ) | Auburn
  14. Justin is "developmental" as an OG prospect. However, he is one heck of a prospect for OG. This is a decent piece on it: http://www.thefootballgenius.com/draft/tfg...nGeisinger.html As an OLT, he is extremely experienced, and quite possibly the best option on the Bills roster right now, which isn't exactly saying much. I went to Vandy.
  15. You did not watch the Senior Bowl. Justin Geisinger, playing OLT for all but Q1, handled everyone he faced, including Gauss and Ware, who both got sacks against "2nd rounder" Khalif Barnes in that same Senior Bowl. Claiming to know something about a player you have never seen and only know which round he was drafted is not exactly a smart thing to do. In the mid 1990's, had you been a Denver fan, you would have had the exact same response to the Denver RB situation, where some "6th rounder" named Terrell Davis, who must have sukked because he was a "6th rounder," got a chance to play...
  16. Justin Geisinger will start somewhere before midseason, possibly even at OLT, where he started for three years at Vandy.
  17. Jason White does not have an NFL arm. He has a weak arm and two surgically repaired knees. The Big 12 is not known for great pass defense, which is why White has really been outed two years in a row outside his conference in Bowl games...
  18. There is another piece on that site about Eric King.
  19. This site had a nice piece on Tim Euhus last year http://www.thefootballgenius.com/draft/tfg...nGeisinger.html
