  1. Though Mims is pretty good. If we needed a slot, I like Downs. Kincaid and Shakir covers it. I want OL and I suppose DT.
  2. I like him as a second round pick. He does have a high ceiling.
  3. Damn dirty birds. Really like Bergeron.
  4. Judgment is prudential. Beane tends to be a straight shooter -- this is what I think after listening to interviews for a number of years and comparing what he says to how he acts professionally. In this circumstance, I don't think there is warrant for suspicion in his regards. Maybe you do. The Cowboys need a TE and numerous folks think they wanted Kincaid. Looking at the body language of the Cowboys war room and the length of time they took to make the pick, I believe they did indeed want Kincaid and that Jones created a narrative to save face. Jones also has a long history. He is not an inveterate liar, but I can believe in this particular circumstance he has reason to fib and that he is in fact not telling the truth. And in general, discernment is finely calibrated to the particularities of a situation, though the norms of human nature guide practical judgment.
  5. Discernment of human nature. Do you always accept at face value the public statements of public figures? Lots of commentators have concluded the Cowboys wanted Kincaid, not just Skip Bayless. So, it's a matter of judgment. No one is hooking Jerry Jones up to a lie detector. If you believe him, I think that is naive, but you are free to maintain that judgment.
  6. Trenton Simpson and Drew Sanders are still there. I'm not sure they get to 59 or even in range of a trade up. I like Mingo and Hyatt at 59, but unless you're trading Gabe Davis, I don't see how one could justify a second round pick on WR given the distribution of available targets now that Kincaid has been added. Adebewore, Benton, Pickens, Dexter, and Ika (lot of good to decent DTs available day 2). There are some good veteran FAs still out there at edge, so I think Beane will concentrate in the middle. Honestly, I've thought about this. I think he might be a Jason Peters story if he is open to it.
  7. Ahh, I think Jones is one of those problem big guys. If Beane packaged 137 and 59, by the standard chart he could get to 55. I'd trade up for Mauch or Schmitz. Like Ika at 91, btw.
  8. I have felt for a while that they are not that worried about LB. I think they'd like to add DT. I hope they are willing to trade up to get quality help on the oline. Bergeron, Avila, Mauch, Tippman, Schmitz among the names I would target.
  9. I prefer the narrative where Jerry Jones is secretly seething and crestfallen.
  10. I'm sorta worried that I'm agreeing with Einstein, but you have to respect truth where you find it.
  11. I think you are ridiculously credulous if you are taking that explanation straight. Cowboys wanted Kincaid and the Bills got the jump on them.
  12. They also sound like perfectly acceptable names for the lead character in a B movie Western back in the day.
  13. Bergeron, Avila, Mauch (all probably gone before 59, alas), Tippmann, Schmitz (might be there.) Duncan and Steen in the third. Some solid day 2 talent for the oline.
  14. You can say that again.
  15. Thanks. They don't call me Blind Squirrel for nothing.
  16. Fella is allowed to develop, just like players.
  17. I'm not sure. I'll ask. @Sherlock Holmes
  18. Sending you to that special clubhouse where Airseven and his pals hang out.
  19. The versatility adding Kincaid gives you is dependent on a player of Knox's ability manning the conventional TE role. It would be just plain damn foolishness to trade him. I think he's been underutilized. He's money in the RZ and often open. Up to Dorsey and Allen to target him. He can't throw the ball to himself.
  20. Incorrect take. Dallas almost certainly wanted Kincaid. It was a shrewd move, not panic.
  21. I'm convinced you lose IQ points trying to argue with some folks.
  22. Would really like one of those two oline, but these names are all good in the second.
  23. It was spot on according to the trade value chart, so not an overpay if that is your concern. If you don't spend a late fourth to move up, Dallas definitely was poised to take him. I was arguing for weeks against the folks who said Dorsey won't use 12 personnel or we don't need to use a first for a backup to Knox or that TE is not worth a first round pick. Kincaid is not going to be Knox's backup (or replacement). He is a weapon you can move around and create much more uncertainty for the defense. He's going to force the defense to cover the entire field. This will also help the run game. It's an absolute home run pick provided Dorsey is competent enough to game plan all the possibilities. Go look at what one typically finds late fourth round and ask yourself if that price is worth one of the best offensive weapons in the draft.
  24. Jumping Dallas. Jerry Jones sad. Bills offense much more dangerous. Definitely worth it. And just because I'm sure no one has noticed. Yawning Frog hates the pick.
  25. And he didn't drop a single pass when off the field.
