Bills Annual Pre-Draft Presser. Live now!
Dr. Who replied to BrotherChazz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Wrong. -
Darby did not fit the system. I don't think he was a locker room problem. Watkins may have been a problem, but I think they surmised they would not be willing to pay the requisite price to resign him to a new contract and the 2nd round pick was valuable as draft capital to trade up for the potential franchise qb you don't want to trade up for. Regardless, none of that bears on whether or not they have determined Rosen to be a fit or not.
-
I'm inclined to agree with your surmise. I would pass on Rudolph before round 2. As I've said elsewhere, might as well wait and take a flier on White or Lauletta, but that's a failed draft given their aspirations for a potential franchise qb. I also prefer Darnold because I think there is less risk there and a high ceiling, though Allen will be the best if he realizes his ceiling.
-
I argued for Mahomes a lot and Watson some last year. Just increases the pressure to get a franchise qb in this draft. I really doubt Mahomes is going to fail, but you need both he and Watson to turn out poor to mediocre for passing on them not to be a factor in judging the acumen of the present regime, though Whaley's status and the flux of new folk are perhaps mitigating factors as well.

I dunno, everyone's so stupid here, maybe nobody will get your point
-
Yeah, that's all cogent. I am willing to gamble more, because I think Allen could be exceptionally good. The development structure would have to be in place and I think you are right to question whether it is. I'd also be happy getting Rosen or Mayfield at 7 and keeping 22.
-
I like Allen and would be fine with it. I know I'm in the minority. I do agree Mayfield or Rosen at 7 is both a safer and a less expensive trade up.

Why no Josh Allen for a visit?
Dr. Who replied to D. L. Hot-Flamethrower's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
This is reasonable and not a bad joke, so thanks for that. I think we like two of Darnold, Allen, Rosen; not sure which two. If our evaluation leads them to believe in Allen, I am quite happy taking him. He has the highest upside. I prefer Darnold. If we are able to trade up to #2 and do so before the draft, that would obviously indicate we have two acceptable candidates, whoever they are. -
Should The Bills Let Richie Incognito Out Of His Contract
Dr. Who replied to BuffaloRush's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
LOL. I was responding to Badlands who basically said we were prepared to let him walk, so if he gave the bonus back, no harm, no foul. I wasn't offering a reasoned account, just explaining why I wouldn't go for that. I didn't say a team would offer a great pick. I said I wouldn't let him go unless there was draft compensation. But, you know, thanks for the encouragement to be reasonable. -

I know. I'm mad about his emotionaly unstable, foolish tantrum mode of trying to get his way. The penalty is I now want a draft pick. -

I want a decent draft pick coming back if he wants to play for another team. -
Buffalo should get WR Bryant, Martavis that is.

Just draft E. St. Brown; same receiver, better character, rookie contract. -
(rumor). Bills-Browns-Giants-Crazy "Dunkirk" type tweet.

Bills Draft Day QB Worst Case Scenario
Dr. Who replied to Zerovoltz's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
To each his own. I like the top four. I think Rosen and Mayfield are the safest picks. I am inclined to risk for upside. Darnold is a risk, but I like his creativity. Allen is more of a risk, but I don't find it implausible that he could develop into an exceptional talent. Too bad so many of you are just sure he will be terrible. I even rather like Jackson. If we stick at 12 and the top four are gone, I'm okay taking Jackson. The only thing that would anger me is taking Rudolph at 12 as I think he is a third round qb. Might as well wait and get White or Lauletta in that case. -
Josh Allen will be the best QB in draft
Dr. Who replied to BuffaloBud420's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I think he is, but he also has a high ceiling. Have to trust your team's evaluation, whatever it is; in general, I'd rather try for the fella that could be exceptional than go for a fairly certain mediocrity. A really good player with a higher floor would be preferable, though, imo. -

Allen is certainly not the least risky. I like him, but it's a gamble.
