I'm happy with this pick. Aaron Williams is an interesting player. He's not overly quick, but he's a big, strong CB/S who is good in run support. He had more tackles than both of our other CBs combined, more forced fumbles than anyone outside of Acho, and more pass breakups than either CB. Downsides are not overly speedy, but he doesn't play slow, either. He's also had a couple of mental lapses (like a muffed punt vs OU), so he fits in well there. Only reason why he was behind Chykie Brown and Curtis Brown was nagging injuries. He's the better player.

Depends on how you define "important". Most states are competitive in the primaries, but non-competitive in the general. For that reason, you could label the primary as more important. Candidates generally have to appeal to their parties' base in the primary, and then move toward the center in the general election. The primaries are generally harder to win as a result, and a fine line has to be walked if you're trying to avoid giving up material for the general election but want to still win the primary. Voters also have more say in a primary, as typically only the hardcore voters show up.

Part of the issue is the ridiculous government regulations the fed slaps us with and makes us pay.

I think you answered the first question with the second question. look at the reporting on disappearances. Jon Stewart had a great satire bit on coverage of pretty white girl kidnappings vs other kidnappings and the coverage they receive. As the news organizations have evolved, they have moved to a model of reporting on stores fill up their that are quick to report on, cheap to produce, fits into preconceived ideas, easy to relate to, and make a strong emotional impact with viewers. As Tom pointed out, this is an effect of the 24-hour news cycle.

Man, that VCU/Kansas game was awesome to be at! Love it! You can tell Shaka Smart is a damn good coach, VCU switched up their defense about every 2 plays, and even though Kansas was able to use its size at times, they looked lost and confused out there more often. I really love how VCU would fake a zone and then drop back into man. They were also terrific against the pick and roll, and their defensive rotation was great. Kansas had no idea how to counter for a good portion of the game. Sorry, Shaka Haters, but the guy's a damn good coach. Speaking of which, even with UCONN winning, the Big East still sucks.

Fun 2nd game in San Antonio tonight with VCU/FSU. Great time. Looking forward to watching VCU take on Kansas. Who knows, maybe we'll have no #1s left!
