So what? There were more "versatile" RBs than Earl Campbell or even Jim Brown. Who were better runners? Yes, Franco did play on a better team than Mitchell. He also was a better, stronger runner and a better blocker. In addition to that, he had good hands as a receiver. The man was a 225 pound runnig back with corner speed. I respect your opinion but vehemently disagree.

Texas & Zero U to join SEC for the 2024 season.
Bill from NYC replied to Cynical's topic in College Football
I am reasonably sure that it will. We both well know that football is an offense dominated sport both in the NFL and the NCAA. Some Alabama Fans think that Kiffen was a better offensive offensive mind that Sark. I disagree but concede that Sark did have more to work with, especially with the team that beat Ohio State. That team was stacked!!! Still, Sark was a relentless attacker of opposing defenses. Sark succeeding at Texas is not in my best interest as a Crimson Tide Fan but it WILL happen imo. I would not mind at all if Sark takes the reins when Coach Saban retires. Jmo. -
Sweet sleepy warmth of summer nights Gazing at the distant lights In the starry sky They say that all good things must end someday Autumn leaves must fall But don't you know That it hurts me so To say goodbye to you?

Rows and flows of angel hair And ice cream castles in the air And feather canyons everywhere Looked at clouds that way But now they only block the sun They rain and they snow on everyone So many things I would have done But clouds got in my way

What are some good, easy meals my wife can’t screw up?
Bill from NYC replied to Einstein's topic in Off the Wall
I tried this with sausage instead of panchetta, and I used small rigatonis instead of shells. I mixed hot and sweet sausages. It was surprisingly good. -
I was thinking more of a 1st round ILB. So what if you can get good ones in the middle rounds, let's trade up to get one!!! Yes, and they were both 1st rounders to play in a zone. One he drafted after snubbing his nose at Patrick Mahomes. The other he traded up for. Utterly shameful and waaaaayyyyy above league average. 😉 I do however get your point. This year I expect a 1st round safety because we "need" one.

Tremaine Edmunds will test free agency
Bill from NYC replied to HappyDays's topic in The Stadium Wall
OK, sure. I am guessing that cap hits can be spread out with guards as well, no? Either way, we need blocking more than we need Edmunds imo. -

Sark is an offensive genius imo. I wish that he was staying in the Big 12. -

He is probably asking 20 million per season. I am missing your point. -

Maybe we can get a really good guard for half of the money Edmunds wants or even less. -
So I give you my eyes, and all of their lies Please help them to learn as well as to see Capture a glance and make it a dance Of looking at you looking at me The black-throated wind keeps on pouring in With its words of a lie that could almost be true Ah Mother American Night, here comes the light I'm turning around, that's what I'm gonna do Goin' back home that's what I'm gonna do

You keep your distance via the system of touch And gentle persuasion I'm lost in admiration, could I need you this much? Oh, you're wasting my time You're just, just, just wasting time Something happens and I'm head over heels I never find out until I'm head over heels Something happens and I'm head over heels Ah, don't take my heart, don't break my heart Don't, don't, don't throw it away

Easily the most beautiful woman to ever grace this planet. I saw her in person when she was in her mid 40's. She was looking SO good that my forehead started sweating and I couldn't move my knees. She must have noticed because she actually gave me a big wink but when she turned around to walk away, she (and her bodyguards) were laughing at me. RIP to a legend, the very picture of pure beauty.

FA and draft needs? Shoot your shot.
Bill from NYC replied to thunderingsquid's topic in The Stadium Wall
I don't want to draft a safety early but as an Alabama Fan who watches every game, I think that Brian Branch is a better player than Battle. Battle is bigger and stronger than Branch but the quality of his play diminished last season. He is good mind you but Branch excels at every phase of the position. He even reminds me a bit of Poyer. Yet another example of you being dismissive of great coaches. You called Saban a "JAG" in the NFL in spite the team's refusal to bring in Drew Brees, and the things he accomplished as the DC on the Cleveland Browns. Now it is Sark's turn in the barrel. So be it. He will probably never return to the NFL because the the enormous salaries being paid now to college head coaches. It is easier to coach in the NFL than in college imo, especially now due to NIL. That said, I am guessing that many NFL teams would be glad to hire Sark. If you don't believe me, ask Brian Daboll, Kirby Smart, Lane Kiffen, or one of the other coaches who had their careers saved by Saban. and are now multi-millionaires. -
You raise a great point Promo but the NFL really is a QB driven league. I honestly believe that if Josh Allen was the QB of the Eagles, they would be so good that it's hard for me to visualize them ever losing a game. I am fan of Hurts. There are many wonderful things to say about the man. He is a good passer, a great runner, and NEVER loses his cool. That said, I wouldn't place him in that elite class, at least not yet. He has the best roster in the NFL (imo) and still fell just a tad short to a HOF QB (and a HOF TE). Call me crazy but I think that Josh is as great as Mahomes, or at least VERY VERY close. To not surround him with great weapons and much more blocking is criminal. How much were we thinking about cornerbacks last night? The Chiefs would have crushed our defense which despite McDermott's love, isn't nearly as good as the Philly defense. Not even close. In any event, the OP is correct. I too long for the days of the Steel Curtain, etc. but until I see differntly; those days are gone. Again, we absolutely MUST get Josh more protection and weapons. There is no rational alternative. As always, jmo.

Cover 1 promoting an undersized 3T for draft
Bill from NYC replied to Pine Barrens Mafia's topic in The Stadium Wall
Sad, but there is a realistic possibility of this happening. -
I like Gibbs but like any other back, he needs blocking. I think that he will be gone by the mid second round because he can also catch. What do you think?
