No, his brother Jack....much tastier....
-
Actually, I don't know why I'm saying this, I hope the best for him. He has all the physical tools, but not the head. It WILL be interesting to see how he pans out.

I would like to see another TE on this roster in the mold of Metzellars, if Pettigrew can fill those shoes make him the first pick. But, I can't help wondering if the lack of talk about Sheffler is the fact the Bills have a draft day trade in place after the first round for him. That way they can target another player while other NFL teams are sold on us going for Pettigrew. Just a thought.

Gonzo - Worth our 3rd Round Pick?
davefan66 replied to bourbonboy's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The Bills are dumping high price salaries, maybe looking to get younger. Don't think he would be in their plans any longer, certainly not mine. Would have liked him last year to "put us over the top" as a rental, don't really want him for the long term. -
I wonder if the Bills have already squared away a trade for a TE, maybe Sheffler? This way, they could smoke screen they are after Pettigrew, keeping the real pick secret not allowing other teams to trade in and take our guy. Doubtful, but would rather have a good young vet than a unproven player most of the time.
-
The issue I have with it is, what pick could we possibly get for him? A 7th? Wouldn't be worth it if it is.

Either the Bills think this is a pretty deep draft, and are trying to stockpile picks, or are slashing costs. Man I hope it has nothing to do with money.

Peters "Highlights" from last year
davefan66 replied to Steve In Atlanta 2008's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I wouldn't put all those on Peters, but plainly a bunch of them were. An elite LT, even one who didn't attend training camp, should not be giving up such easy sacks like that. He looked like a friggen turnstile. Just makes me feel better about getting rid of the load. -
Steeler Source says trade for Bills wide receiver Parrish
davefan66 replied to SKOOBY's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Nice videos. But remember the punt return was against a bunch of slow college kids. Regardless, Leodis showed me more than enough last year to hand over the punt and kick return duties to him. I say trade Roscoe, don't really need a one dimensional player on a team with so many holes. BTW, don't expect very much in return. No other team is going to pay a 3rd for a punt return guy unless it turns into a bidding war. 3rd rounder is just one round less than NE* got for for Cassell. 4th at best, probably a 5th. -
Peters didn't know how many sacks he gave up...
davefan66 replied to basskik11's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Face it. It's a new breed of NFL player. One that does not want to end up paralyzed ending his career, or end up in a wheelchair at age 50 because his body is so broken down. Look at Barry Sanders, arguably the best RB ever to play the game (certainly the most elusive) quit in his prime (I know, the fact the Lions were terrible had something to do with it). Today's player just wants to squeeze a few good years out of his first contract to hit the big FA payday, and coast. Good riddance Peters, hope you enjoy the money when you could possibly be the best LT to ever play the game if you actually thought about why you just got beat for the sack, instead of your contract. Scr*w the HOF, just coast now for a few years. -
Trade the 28th for Tony Gonzales or Julius Pep. ?

Uhm. Peppers would command MUCH more than we got for Peters. -
Sources: Peters to Eagles for three picks
davefan66 replied to TimGraham's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Yes. Especially about heart and strong work ethic. He may end up being the best LT in NFL history, God knows he has the physical tools. The mental tools is up for debate. My gut feeling is he plays well for Philly this year, and within a few years is considered a bust, and the Bills ripped off the Eagles. Enjoy the payday while it lasts Peters.... -

I just wish Russ had waited till next week to pull the trigger. That way Philly may have given us the earlier 1st rounder. As for next years pick being a 6th rounder (if that is true), that is total rubbish, mine as well not have taken it at all. As for seeing Peters go, fine. I am sick and tired of these millionaire athletes who are under contract not showing up. I understand he was worth more $$ than we were paying him, but show up, do your job under the contract YOU signed. Didn't mind how the OL played without him last year. With TO complimenting Evans this year, maybe that may take some pressure off the OL, who knows. Maybe Bell is the answer, if not Walker did a good job at LT last year. Peters better thank Jim McNally for making him the player he is today. Taking an undrafted TE and converting him to a "pro bowl" LT. http://www.usatoday.com/sports/football/20...094971324_x.htm -
First offense, will probably get off with a slap on the wrist. Commish will talk with, and again first offense (that we know of), and he'll be back on the field. Different NFL player, same story...again, and again, and again... Funny thing though. I used to laugh at the Bengals for hiring thugs!

Brandon Marshall needs to be drug tested
davefan66 replied to Ramius's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Orton had a 12-6 record as a starter with the Bears, while Grossman went 19-11 as a starter. Don't think Orton is that bad at all. Kinda like his attitude also. -
That's the problem with Lynch, he is too choppy of a runner. When he takes those 1 to 2 extra steps when he cuts, he's giving the D a chance to catch up to him. Love Jackson and have no worries with him as the starter.

Fred Jackson shows for conditioning
davefan66 replied to LynchMob23's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Actually, I'm not that worried about Lynch's suspension with Jackson being the starter, only concern is the backup to him. I hope he plays really well, and gives the Bills second thoughts on starting Lynch post suspension. To tell you the truth, I'm not really sold on Lynch anyhow. Don't think he hits the hole fast enough, and is too choppy of a runner, not smooth enough. If he could hit the hole on time, and smack the defender like he does, run with more fluidity, no telling how good he can be. When he cuts and takes those 1 to 2 choppy steps, that allows the D some time to recoup and drill him. Don't really care that Jackson is older as long as he plays well. Lynch's style of taking hits will shorten his career anyhow. -
Where is NFL.com's Adam Schefter???
davefan66 replied to Never NEVER Give-up's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Don't know if he's playing the right cards. With some NFL teams laying off people, and others threatening to, now may not be the right time for him to do this. I don't care if he does get fed scoops from his employer or not, I like his easy style and think he has pretty good football sense. -
[closed]Did the Bills extend Stroud to send a message?
davefan66 replied to billsfreak's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
It's exactly what the FO told him last year. Show up, show you are serious and we'll get a deal done. Don't know really what our cap status is, but it seems if the player is willing (TO, Stroud) the Bills will pay. Hope JPeters gets a whiff of this, gets off his FAT LAZY ARSE and gets a deal done. -
Bills were in serious discussions with Philly about Peters
davefan66 replied to Fingon's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Too many things point to his not wanting to be here any longer. My guess, Bills trade him by draft day, or day of. Thing I need to know is, why is he so disillusioned? Can't be JUST the money, as he was getting paid pretty well for a FA TE. -
