  1. He gave up 6 mill guaranteed. Of course he wants to wait it out and see if he can recoup it. My bet is the Bills are not offering that much.
  2. His first mistake was leaving 6 million guaranteed when he bolted the Jets. If this is all about him trying to recoup that and then some, IMHO he can take a hike. I hope the Bills gave him a fair offer though, with incentives and not in base pay. Make him work for it. Again the fact that there is little movement league wide with FA at this point, I think that takes some of the stress out of "sign him now!".
  3. Man, Buffalo just missed the tip of that storm!
  4. RIP Paul Have not heard him in years, and regret that now. Wonderfully distinct voice.
  5. My guess is, unless you live REALLY close, you ain't going to hear it. I live in Clarence and have a tough time pulling it in. Lori did provide the internet link to listen in though.
  6. Not really as they are not a 24 hour sports station. http://www.weck1230.com/index.html But really, even if they did 5 minutes of sports a day, they would be an alternative to WGR.
  7. Any word on the cryptic info Brad gave us a few months ago that we would be surprised at some new people on board at WECK, kinda insinuating they might be old WGR people? Or is this move what he was talking about?
  8. Not using the "madden mentality", but I would rather deal a draft pick and have a known entity for 2 to 3 years instead of an unknown for 4 years and let him go. Using the Cutler situation as an example, I would rather the Bills send our 1st to the Broncos, then have them spend twice as much on an unknown high round 1 draft pick. At least with the established vet, you know what you got. Concerning Holt, if he is really available for a 6th pick, and the Bills want him, I would gladly pay that to acquire his rights than duke it out with the rest of the NFL to sign him.
  9. Actually, I must amend what I said. Thought he was older than a 10 year vet. For a late round pick, fine. Seems to have fallen off a bit last year, but would chalk that up to an awful team. http://www.nfl.com/players/laveranuescoles...le?id=COL366580
  10. Nope.
  11. Uhm, remember, we ARE talking about the Bills front office
  12. Unless the fax machine eats the paperwork....
  13. When another team initiates a trade, that means they are willing to part ways with that player. For whatever reason, be it the player has diminished skills, or just plain does not fit in that teams plans. That all means, AN INTERESTED TEAM DOES NOT NEED TO GIVE UP THE HOUSE. ie: a second round pick may be all it takes, or maybe even a third, not giving up a pro-bowl LT AND a very good young QB.
  14. My thoughts from the beginning, kinda helps when the Bills are your first stop. Interestingly, it's between the Phins and us, although I think he would have had more teams courting him, but he set the bar for his contract when he left the Jets with 6 million guaranteed. I do hope we sign him, not that he is the only choice, but he would be an immediate upgrade to the WR position. I like Hardy and his potential, but expect him to be a non-factor next year with the knee injury.

  17. Radio comments are hard to provide a link for, but for what it's worth: I hate to say it, but FA is mostly about the coin. Some players will sign with a team like the *patsies for the chance to win (Taylor), then others will sign with a team stricly for the dollars (Haynesworth). Buffalo isn't that bad. We seem to have quite a few explayers from both the Bills and especially the Sabres wo still live in town. Like Tim Grahm, but if he actually said these things, maybe he should do a bit more research.
  18. Dude, Favre started because Majikowski was injured. Many players in the NFL have had stellar careers based on starting for an injured player. Think maybe Khalil was the better player and Hangartner could start for many other teams? Don't really know a thing about him, but REALLY hope he pans out.
  19. Actually, I'm pretty sad Royal is gone. I loved the way he played under pressure, with those great hands of his. Man, he saved SO many games for us with those critical first down catches. I just hope he plays for the Jets, hope they sign him, as well as he played for us......serves them right....
  20. If he is up for trade, I'd give our first. Good QB, strong arm and can play in bad weather. Why draft a player that will maybe pan out, when you can get a good known entity?
  21. I remember one game he looked below average, otherwise he played pretty well.
  22. And we still need to throw big bucks at Peters... Signing these O-line guys to big contracts does nothing but strengthen Peters position again.
  23. I kinda agree. Problem is, I believe most of our O-lines problems are coaching. Mike Gandy played pretty well for the Cards. The thing the team will miss with Dockery is he is a team player and is well liked.
  24. Good thing is not many players are signing today. Still plenty of players to choose from.
