  1. I hoped for a more veteran backup. Someone who could help teach Trent. I do remember Fitzpatrick playing pretty well for the Rams having a few 300 yard plus games in a row. OK signing at best, not bad as a project, but not second string.
  2. hee hee, how about coaching?
  3. Drafting an O-lineman doesn't help us this year, rarely do they start and play with any significance. Probably can find a few lesser priced FA's, but doesn't that kinda put us back to square one?
  4. Last I read Coles supposedly did not leave town. Is it confirmed either way? Also, didn't Tim Grahm confirm Birk ain't coming here?
  5. Unless we do sign a "big name" free agent, we will continue to lack in talent. Not that a FA always is an improvement (see Redskins FA history), but signing a 3 string QB and calling him a number two (no pun intended) is ridiculous. Just shows the coaching staff is a joke.
  6. With the story we tried to trade Dockery, but messed it up, and the fact we let Fowler, Preston and Whittle go concerns me. Not that they were great players, but the fact we haven't signed anyone scares me. I know free agency just started and we have plenty of time, but the list of available O-line guys is not stunning and getting a starting lineman in the draft is probalby not going to happen. Couple that with our only signing being a third string QB, we are a weaker team then the end of last season.
  7. http://www.sportingnews.com/blog/real_scouts/ Greer to visit Detroit Friday, February 27, 2009 Posted By Albert Breer 6:32 PM Buffalo cornerback Jabari Greer is shooting for a Kelvin Hayden-like deal. And that pursuit will kick off in Detroit. Greer is slated to visit with the Lions and new head coach Jim Schwartz in the Motor City over the weekend, according to a source.
  8. Yep. Just the type of leader Marshawn needs. I'm sure Lewis could teach him a thing or two about carrying unlicensed weapons.
  9. Having Coles and Evans, two proven threats, would relieve some of the blitzes causing Edwards to look for the short pass, thus, allowing for deeper routes (in theory). It's like a good pass rush makes your d-backs look good also, with less coverage time needed.
  10. Correct. Rather listen to a few hours of him then subject myself to the mindless drivel of Schopp and Bullcrud and Simon.
  11. Brad Riter
  12. I seem to remember the receptionist at OBD gave the phone to Jim Kelly just after we drafted him, and it was the USFL trying to sign him. Actually, I think your correct. Unless Coles is using the Bills for leverage and his agent is working the phones behind our backs, I would hope he is devoting his attention to us.
  13. I really, really hope the Bills had some plan letting Greer, Dockery, Fowler and Preston go. Not that Fowler and Preston were that great, but now we have exactly ZERO centers. I just can't believe they would hand walking papers to all of them without knowing they would land at least a center and guard in FA. Then again, I wouldn't put anything past this team.
  14. I assume you are kidding. But if you're not take a look at the Colts. How many "number one" FA's have they got in the past?? How many FA's have the Skins gotten? How many championships do both teams have in the last 10 years, and which team has the best overall record since then? Getting a killer FA is not the answer, just a quick fix. The Bills needs to draft better and keep those players past their first contract, instead of developing them and letting them go.
  15. 2 years 9 million dollars??? ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? Way to parlay a few good games into megabucks.
  16. About time. Wonder if it a show for the FA's to take us seriously.
  17. Yeah they talked football...backup QB. The two fought over Warner and Garcia for a few minutes squashed between Paul Hamilton and Robitaille.

  19. Buy now, pay later.
  20. Fine by me the skins signed him. Just shows how overrated he is. Same with Haynesworth, people suspect he had a great season last year because he was in a contract year. Status quo for the skins signing names others talk about to try and make a splash.
  21. Would like to see Coles in a Bills uniform. Nice for a name player, only thing is, is he using us as leverage with some other team? Hope that's not the only reason he is in for a visit.
  22. BTW, NFL Live on ESPN at midnight. Also scoping out www.profootballtalk.com/rumormill.htm Let's at least make a splash with ONE top tier FA.
  23. Used to really like him. Guy had really fallen off the last few years, has not worked hard and has been a bit of a "me" player. No way do I want him.
  24. Might have been easier saying who we DON'T need.... TE, OL, DE, corner depth. DT not a real concern if we get a pass rushing DE who can take pressure off the middle. OLB depth and starting C.
