  1. Looks like know matter what Beane does there’s gonna be a lot of unhappy people come Thursday night.
  2. We are not taking one of the top 4 QB’s at 12. If we really want one of them, Beane will go up and get them. He’s not waiting for a guy he really wants to fall to 12. Better chance of taking Lamar Jackson at 22 than Allen or Rosen at 12.
  3. Agreed. I wouldn’t trust Elway at all. If Denver doesn’t agree to a trade before the draft starts, do the deal with Indy at 6 and get up to 2 if Darnold is there.
  4. 12, 22, and 56 for 6 and 36. Get it done. Or 12, 22, and 56 for 5 and 40.
  5. I actually think this is a smart play by the Browns. They have enough young guys on their roster and 5 picks in the top 64. If Barkley is the number 1 player on their board, I’d give the Giants pick 33 to grab Barkley.
  6. Things are certainly lining up nicely if Bills want to trade up to 5 or 6.
  7. This should’ve been the biggest red flag of them all. Locker seems like a genuine good dude, but all these scouts and GM’s get paid to figure out how important football is to them. Peyton Manning going back to school was a different era and he supposedly was avoiding the Jets. Locker basically pissed away $30m going back to Washington. As Hasselbeck said, he’s not motivated by what motivates most other people. I think that’s where there may be some similarities with Rosen.
  8. This is the deal Bills should make. If we can't get to 2 before next Thursday, 5 is the perfect spot to be in.
  9. If I’m Beane, I offer 12, 22, and 53 to Broncos for 5. That’s a big over-payment but worth it in my opinion because it eliminates the only other legit competition to take a QB in top 5. Then I offer next years 1 to Giants for pick 2. Giants still get Chubb, Barkley, or Nelson and pick up a 1st next year while building around a 38 year old QB. If I stay at 5, at worst I get to pick between 2 of the top 4 QB’s.
  10. Denver is the better spot at 5. If I’m gonna overpay to get up to 6, overpay to get to 5. It eliminates the only other legit candidate besides Browns and Jets who could take a QB in top 5 and it freezes the Giants at 2 and Browns at 4, making the price to move up from 5 cheaper.
  11. I appreciate the info guys like Breer collect and pass on, but when it comes to predicting where QB’s are gonna get drafted these guys are throwing darts or purposely being misled. Guys like Mayock and even McShay/Kiper are actually good at grading and predicting what range non-QB prospects are gonna get drafted. Predicting where QB’s go is about a lot more than production and measurables. Wouldn’t shock me if Rosen or Mayfield go 1. They have no idea how any of the teams have the QB’s ranked.
  12. No it wouldn’t. Barkley isnt getting past the Giants. So Cleveland could either take Chubb or get a 2019 1st rounder and Shady. What are the odds both Chubb and Garrett are on the Browns in 4 years? Chubb is either a bust or you can’t afford to pay both Chubb and Garrett in 4 years. McCoy has 1-2 good years left and immediately changes the losing stench in the locker room.
  13. This. Cleveland still has more draft picks than a 1-31 team can absorb. They need veterans who know how to win more than they need a bunch of talented rookies who get swallowed up by the losing culture. Tyrod was a good start for them. If I’m Cleveland, I take a QB at 1 who sits for a year, then trade pick 4 to the Bills for a 1st rounder next year and Shady. Tyrod, Shady and a decent defense can get 8 wins and get them on road to respectability.
  14. If Bills trade up to 5 with Denver before next Thursday, they basically insure themselves one of the top 3 QB’s. It eliminates Denver from the QB trade-up market, and it effectively freezes the Giants at 2 and Cleveland at 4.
  15. If Lorax is gonna play more end, we still have too many defensive ends.
  16. Pretty sure Warren Moon threw with his index finger on nose of ball also. He threw perfect spirals and was probably best pure passer of his generation after Marino.
  17. 2, 12, 22, and 65 gets you close to 1 and 4 on the trade chart. Next years 1st is enough for Giants to go from 2 to 4. Giants would do that in a heartbeat. Not sure why Cleveland would do that deal other than not wanting Chubb at 4 though. If I’m Cleveland, I’m asking for McCoy. They have enough draft picks already.
  18. Timing of this is strange. Barkley isn’t getting past Cleveland at 4. Guice and Michel could both be gone at Denver’s 2nd round pick at 40. They’re clearly trying to win now with Keenum signing. Maybe they think they’ll have more picks between 5 and 40.
  19. Everyone just assumes the Giants can trade out of 2 and get a bounty of picks because of the Bills. Beane isnt going up to 2 unless his preferred QB is there. Giants are letting Cleveland know they aren’t getting Barkley at 4. Darnold is probably the only QB that teams will give up a bounty to the giants for. This signals to me that the Giants want to trade out of 2, but it takes 2 to tango and their potential trade partners want Darnold.
  20. Watson was a better prospect than Mayfield. Allen is a better prospect than Mahomes or Trubisky. Darnold and Rosen probably better prospects than all of them. I’d rank them Darnold, Rosen, Allen, Trubisky, Watson, Mahomes, Mayfield.
  21. If Beane cam make that happen, he should be put in charge of Middle East peace negotiations. The Giants and Browns have been playing cat and mouse for the last 2 months. Can’t see the 2 of them agreeing to a 3 way trade unless Cleveland has given up on getting Barkley at 4.
  22. I like Mayfield, but it’s hard to disagree with any of this. In the Ohio State tape, there really wasn’t much resembling a traditional dropback NFL offense. Maybe that’s where the NFL is heading, but I’d trade pick 22 for Foles before I’d trade up for Mayfield. Would have to build a similar offense around them, but one guy has won a Super Bowl.
  23. Mayfield had a great game, but most of those throws were quick hitters over the middle of the field or roll-outs. Didn’t see many sideline passes from the pocket. He doesn’t have Russell Wilson’s arm. Watson was a better prospect coming out of college.
  24. It is completely reasonable when that job requires risking your physical and potentially mental health every time you step on the field and when his first contract will probably guarantee him $20m. Unless he wins multiple Super Bowls early in his career, I’d put the over/under on the years Rosen plays before he retires at 6 years. He seems like a guy I’d love to have a beer with, but what’s his motivation to keep playing after his 1st, 2nd, 3rd concussion?
  25. I don’t think you can trade up for a guy like this. I’ll give him credit for honesty, but how can you trust this guy to battle through growing pains if he struggles or stay grounded if he takes NFL by storm. I’d take him at 12 or if it only costs a 3rd to move up a couple spots. He did nothing but add fuel to the fire in that interview that football isn’t that high on the priority list but rather a platform for his other interests. Brady might be a pretty boy, but there’s no doubting first and foremost the guy loves football and winning.
