Sessions Resigns as AG
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to 26CornerBlitz's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
"Stop being a numbnut, Tiberius!"?? -
That wasn't meant to be derogatory. I like Cheesesteak. Come to think of it, I also like Philadelphia. If, though, your name is actually WhitewalkerinPhilly, and people bullied you by calling you Cheesesteak, I guess I understand. I didn't ignore "Ivanka, The Sequel", I wasn't aware you were going all George Lucas here. Anyway, have a blessed day.

Sessions Resigns as AG

But does the constitution or this so-called Appointments Clause mention Whittaker by name? No one wants to address that. -
Oh, he hit West Dakota as well. I always forget that. He's really cool though, smokes camels and often rolls up his sleeves.

I think he may be on to something. The Fins speak Finnish. Heck they drive Fjords over there. The language barrier alone seems insurmountable. Though on this one, as with others, djt sounds an awful lot like off-prompter barrack speaking about visiting all 52 states.

The Deep State War Heats Up

The brother wakes up from a nap, apparently disoriented, runs out, talks to his mother then hurls himself from the 14th floor. Anderson Cooper--and I don't mean to disparage his pain, or how he deals with this, but I'm really creeped out by that damn picture----AC says his brother had an issue with "impulse control". Uh...yup, or Momma tossed him over the railing. -

I have no idea who she was, and missed a decapitated head, what looks like a guy being tortured, a Life magazine photo shoot decades ago, and an odd three finger raptor hand on one of the wealthiest women in history. I shouldn't be surprised, some days I leave things on my wallet to take to work, pick the item up, move it to the side, take my wallet and leave. I'll look into some of the other symbolism moving forward. You're off the enemies list, I can never hold a grudge and thinks to 3rd for his input as well. Oh, and on the brother committing suicide, I'm thinking they need to look at Momma G. I'm checking this out as well. -

Aw snap. Truth is, my assumption was this was a women with her two kids in a photo shoot. The look on her face was troubling enough, I never really looked at the display up top. That is suitably gruesome. If there is more symbolism that I'm missing I really have no idea. We have pictures of our kids on the walls here, we're not so much into ritual sacrifice and beheading. -

that look on her face is frightening. She looks like the witch from the old fairy tale (Reimagined for 2018), Hansel and Hansel. -

I believe you are now my enemy. I read that entire Rolling Stone article and was reminded how the basic premise of the magazine is to use 15,000 words to tell a story that could be told in 800. I know that is pretty common in journalism but the added hipster-Dufi angle makes me want to move to a place where free speech is stifled. Iran, perhaps, or maybe California. I. blame. you. -
10% Tax Cut For The Middle Class
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Thurmal34's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I try not to get too personal in these posts, but yes. She even used the full length version to give the appearance of a room above-grade. She saw it on "Flipping the Basement" and told him it "gave texture and customized the space". -
10% Tax Cut For The Middle Class
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Thurmal34's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
The enacted tax cuts resulted in a substantial reduction in my estimated tax. I hired another employee. There is a noticeable increase in new construction, employment and overall confidence in the economy in my little slice of the world. Word on the street is that there are a ton of basement remodels going on, so there is something literally for everyone, even the Sanders supporters. -
Those who forget the past are condemned to repeat it. Have you forgotten that Martin Luther King Jr was denied a press pass prior to the March on Selma? What about American citizens of Japanese heritage having their press passes pulled? The treatment of US soldiers returning from Vietnam and the denial their press passes? What about the epidemic of over-prescription of Press Pass denials resulting in the deaths of 200 Americans per day? Sir, Jim Acosta is the aggrieved party here, and the ripple effect of this tragedy is not yet known but likely will be devastating. As Phil Collins once sang...ripples never come back. This is still America, isn't it?

The people marching to the boarder ???
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to mead107's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
Fundamentally untrue. There may have been a time that you were correct, but with the numbers estimated as high as 22,000,000 folks here illegally, under radar, burdening the system, it impacts everybody. Medicaid is impacted. Social security is impacted. Federal and State tax rates are impacted. Cost of insurance, level of benefits available. And so on. I'd liken it to a fuse burning for an awfully long time, decades in fact, so long in fact that anyone can see it if they are looking. But eventually, the fuse reaches the economic bomb and detonation surely follows. Who is impacted, and how they are impacted changes from individual to individual. I'd favor more restrictive immigration all day, every day. Then again today's immigration system really boils down to those who follow the rules and those who do not. In fact, add legal immigration to the list of items directly and adversely impacted by illegal immigration. -
Every time the lawfully elected President follows commonly accepted practice and operates within the law, Tiberious screams that somehow, somewhere someone must recuse themself from something. As time goes on, while screaming "Recusal" in the morning he rages about "Corruption" in the afternoon. He seems particular torqued about Sessions resigning, Whittaker being lawfully tapped as Acting AG, and of course includes the notorious "we all know why..." word track used for centuries to defend inherent bias, racism, sexism and political manipulation. Even now, when given the opportunity for reasonable discourse, in spite of the Justice department confirming the legality of the move, in spite of 2 years of Trump guilty of nothing more than publically stating his disdain for the investigation (his absolute right) and truckloads of evidence suggesting what the lefty's claimed is not anywhere close to what actually happened, he remains steadfast screaming about recusal and corruption and how wrong it is that Trump fired Mueller just in case he does.

I'll say it again...while there are obviously members of the press that are brave and put themselves in harm's way to deliver a story--they are few and far between. These people are so fragile and self-aggrandizing it's laughable. Shut up, Jimbo, give the microphone back, Jimbo, you having to report from the manure pile next to the landscaping shed on the WH grounds will remind you that you're just another monkey in the zoo full of really dumb monkeys.

Most Famous Bills Fan you ever met
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to Buffalo716's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Went to Sydney last year for a vacation. Awesome place, beautiful and the history is very cool. Stayed in The Rocks section, and though I met no famous people per say, I may have passed you on the street. I'm going with Aussie Joe. -

I come from a rather large family. And yes. I am a parent and understand that math as well. It was more the thought of your father sliding you a quarter and a wink and you knowing he was 'bout ta tap dat a$$ that I found unsettling. But I concede that point, it is what it is, and I guess I just prefer blissful ignorance as a general rule.

A. Well, if Macron wanted to have sex with someone near the Buffalo zoo, your story would be relevant. As he apparently does not, I agree, your story would not relate to the global economy. B. Gross.

When I was a boy, we were pitching pennies in a parking lot with some of the older kids around wanting nothing to do with us. Eventually, as if through divine intervention, I toss a penny and get a leaner. For that brief flicker of time, on one toss, I was Steph Curry. As my other friends tried to knock it down and take the take, the pot became substantial. One of the older kids walked over, saw the pot and asked me if I wanted to go in halfs to win even more. As the game ended, he walked up, took his half and left. I see the French angling to be the older kid wanting to go halfs. I have no issue with renegotiating and/or walking away from trade deals that do not take American interests into account first. Not "only" just "first". And that represents the dilemma of globalism, where over time, American interests can take a back seat to the interests of others. Sometimes it's intentional, others not. If we're not not careful, it takes the basic theory of redistribution of wealth and puts it on steroids. Trumps generally stated philosphy is "Yeah, f that". Some life lessons you learn by studying Washington and Hamilton. Others come from the mean streets of WNY circa 1972.
