The American Media Should Not Be Trusted
leh-nerd skin-erd replied to SCBills's topic in Politics, Polls, and Pundits
I’m trying to find the 7x green check reply button to supersize my like of @T master post! -
Ah, this is the old another guy is worse then my guy shtick, a game already run by others. Boring. You always struck me as an honest stakeholder in this game we play. Do you think there is any truth to the rumor that some people—in this case female, allow wealthy/powerful/celebrity individuals—in this case men, access to areas normally covered by traditional swimwear (let’s leave the French out of it) for the purpose of sexual gratification? I’m going out on a limb here and saying I think there may be some validity to this rumor. Of course, I wanted feedback from other sources so I spoke with friends from different backgrounds, with different upbringings, different political philosophies but did so in person as opposed to the internet where it’s relatively easy to make an inane argument that when someone bragging to someone in private about women letting him grab them is akin to sexual assault. To a person, all have acknowledged that the rumor is likely true. What say you S3, do women ever allow men to take such liberties?

Thanks for linking this statement as I had missed it. The answer is indeed clear, when considering the names listed. I also laughed quite loudly at “....overcome by me”. ‘ppreciate it. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

Maybe the virus hovers over expectant dads the way it hovers over large crowds gathered in cities across the country at the peak of the pandemic? -

What Trump suggested is true--there is a whole lot of 'fake news' out there. Virtually everyone agrees on that, the rest is just semantics and political posturing. The irony is that pre-Trump, a typical tactic from the left was "WhatdyagetyernewsfromFox?", and when he pushed the issue into mainstream discussions, they had to scramble to find where they placed their phony indignation when called on it. Exhibit 110,915 from the left. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

It’s certainly a reasonable question. I am mindful of the challenges with the relatively small circle of friends and family most of us draw experiences from, but my neighbor died after 6 months of weight loss, pain, suffering, significant damage to her intestinal tract post-cancer, and while she was in Hospice for end of life care. She was diagnosed with COVID a day or two before she died, and her cause of death was listed as COVID. Money talks. -

It’s hard to say. It could be that in less than a 24 hour span, you suggested I put words in your mouth when discussing “informed choice”, that you suggested another poster having the same general discussion was a dick and internet tough guy (his biggest fault is implying he’s good looking) and that ultimately it seems we all agree on the basic premise of informed choice—which was the original post I made and that you responded too. On the other hand, it could be that I come from a large family with quite a few brothers and sarcasm is on the menu everyday. We can definitely consider this misunderstanding on me. I can see now where I took this off track. By the way—on the informed choice issue, I never assume that what we know today is all that we will ever know. I’m not suggesting you do—but if I were unvaxxed and likely immune due to prior exposure, I’d also consider where we might be in 6-12 months as additional data was available, be it due to additional research or unfortunate truths previously concealed coming out over time. -

I’m assuming there was a lot of background noise as this discussion unfolded, words were misunderstood or misinterpreted, mostly because it ended up where it started. -

Huh...sounds like there is much to consider, and by reviewing available information, one can make an informed choice as to what is in one’s best interest. Welcome aboard. -
The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

We’re back to large crowds, in fact, we never didn’t have large crowds gathering in cities across the country all last year as people died in large numbers. Surely you know this. Tens of thousands of people from all walks of life coming together, huddling closely at times, animated in speech and physical contact, often returning home to spread the virus in some of communities at highest risk in the country. What was hard to understand we’re the crickets chirping or worse yet—politicians and civic leaders encouraging the behavior. How many lives lost there? On the other hand, If you’re only talking about the compliant folk wanting to gather, that’s happening as well and has been for some time. Surely you know this as well. As for your suggestion, if I had immunity after having COVID, I personally would be willing to listen to the “extra double immunity” angle, but more importantly “we’re not sure how long your immunity will last”. Not saying I’d Vax up, and I probably wouldn’t until more data came out, but I’d listen. I would also support someone else unwilling to listen to either argument and just push forward, knowing the risk, knowing the numbers and knowing the science that seems to contradict “just get the damn Vax” crowd. Based on the numbers, it’s exceptionally likely they would be absolutely fine and would pose no threat to others. But, it’s a nasty ripper of a bug to some people, we agree there. Informed choice is the key. Tolerance helps as well. On this, I think you’re overstating, btw. I’m speak with folks in various fields including areas of which you speak. Some certainly echoed what you said, others not at all. There is not universal consensus among all health care workers and physicians that the Vax is the only answer. -
business-57383869 This is shocking. The system is tilted toward the wealthy including virtually every politician in the country, people of all stripes and income brackets get deductions and credits, and perpetual doo-gooders like Soros and Buffet avoid tax like the plague but support changes to tax law. Oh, and we don't tax wealth, and Fightin Joe Biden, Nancy Pelosi and the like are gonna fix it all.

All good B. Some people have a fixation on what other posters choose to share, and in some cases, an unhealthy fixation with posters no longer here. Keep on truckin.

The Next Pandemic: SARS-CoV-2/COVID-19

See there we go---you used the phrase "Seems like...", a variation of "Seems to me..." and I don't think you're putting words in my mouth. I am officially returning to my position about informed choice. I completely understand that you would take the easy route even with immunity and get vaccinated. You read, considered and made your choice in that scenario. #respeck. The person with immunity doesn't need to be vaccinated--at least based on the CC study, and if they chose not to based on the science in play, the only reason to get vaccinated is to acquiesce to the crowd regardless of whether a pro-Vaxxer feels the risks are low. https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/vaccines/safety/adverse-events.html The side effects my range from minor to, uh, death based on this website. Who wants any of this &^%$ if it's unnecessary--it actually represents too high a price to ask someone else to pay if they see no value in the vax and received zero benefit from complying. At a minimum, it's like going to Mighty Taco, orderings a Super Mighty, a Soft Mighty, chips/cheese and a large Loganberry, but being charged for three extra Garden Burritos because 'everybody else buys 'em, and they're healthier'. -

I'll try again. We can agree to disagree if you prefer, but when one says "it seems", another way to say it is "it seems to me". It's entirely possible when I say "it seems", that my interpretation of what you said is incorrect. Your first post in response to the Cleveland Clinic story included this: The vaccine works. Getting Covid works. Covid kills and is contagious. Maybe I’ll grow a grow a third eye but it seemed like an easy choice to get the vaccine and end this thing. If someone had the virus, survived and has developed an immunity to it, I'm not sure why it's an 'easy choice' to get vaccinated beyond running with the herd because the herd is running. If I was in that situation, I would think it's perfectly reasonable to skip being vaccinated, and probably the right choice medically speaking. Disclaimer: All of these words are mine and mine alone. No mouths were filled during the preparation of this response. -

Using the link you responded to, if one gets the virus, recovers and as a result, develops immunity to it, why wouldn’t a study by the Cleveland Clinic be something an individual might want to consider? Why wouldn’t the CDC be interested in that data to help shape advice and guidance? It seems you’re advocating for acquiescence, which seems at odds with making an informed choice. -

“Choice” is key here. -
I’m not sure what game you’re referring to. You’re an acknowledged, all-in Biden supporter perfectly comfortable with the sexual assault he has admitted to, ok with the violent sexual assault he’s accused of and that his own Vice President believes occurred, apparently because he was able to not actually rape any women. When asked about it, you get all jittery and start rambling on about Trump. It’s weird. He goes to some dark places for sure.
