As previously, documented, the Russian government and Vladimir Putin know Biden, his tendencies, and his weaknesses very, very well. This would not surprise me in the least.

This has been my line of thinking from the start. Political people pay political games and get their base all riled up, but a 30 second google search reveals similar behavior that raised no red flags whatsoever. Still, Tibs has been very bold about citing criminal behavior but exceptionally timid providing details with anything beyond that. In that regard, he’s Chicken Little.

This is interesting. Midterms just a few months out. 1/6 committee signaling the need for additional prime-time tribunals during…the mid-terms. News reports from the usual suspects (WaPo, NBC) beginning to circulate about “investigations” based on “anonymous sources” ….100 days out from the mid-terms. Who could have predicted this stunning turn of events?

I know the quote, but more importantly, I understand it. In this example, you're the guy who said nothing. Yesterday, you were the guy who said nothing. In fact, I'm not even sure what side you're on here. I'll show you what reasonable people say and do: On the video with Maddow and Shapiro--his allegations are very damning. If what he and Rachel Maddow are saying is true--that another politician is recruiting white supremacists and anti-semites, the guy should be condemned and shown the door. Sadly, he'll have supporters, just like we saw yesterday with the Soccer Moms of Texas targeting white politicians and your support of them. Now, I keep the news on in the morning and acknowledge surprise that this wasn't a major national story this morning, that a high profile candidate for governor is recruiting white supremacists, and it is the Rachel Maddow show, so I'll look into it further.

A lower tax rate for me is a lower tax rate for me. A higher tax rate for me is a higher tax rate for me. A politician opposing same sex marriage certainty lacks appeal to people that impacts, while a politician in favor of same sex marriage will lack appeal with others. I figure all I that can control is that which I have power over. The rest I try not to worry about, unsuccessfully at times it would seem. But yeah, big picture? I always chuckle when I hear people talking about tax cuts for the rich, and fair share. Then of course, you look into how THEY get paid at times, establishing corporations, foundations and the like to significantly reduce tax burden while getting incredibly wealthy.

In context, the entire weight of the US government came after him for nearly 5 solid years—-the democrat wing that held power, the anti-Trump republicans, the DOJ, the FBI and according to Chuck Schumer, the intelligence agency. Add to that many/most media outlets constantly reporting stories that were inaccurate or false, often citing anonymous sources deep within. While Trump creates many of his own issues, and seems to like it that way, the man just shrugged it off and pushed on. That type of stress would break the overwhelming majority of people. Just look at Hilary Clinton—all that happened to her was she lost an election and she was angry, devastated, depressed and gone to ground in Chappaqua.

You’re not far off here Frenkle. I’d suggest Washington, especially establishment insiders, are an extension of Wall Street—sort of an administrative branch office. Somebody has to pull the strings to keep things popping. In that regard, left v right matters with respect to making choices on those that hurt you less.

daGoose seems to love the purity of the process on certain issues, letting things play out, trusting the process and people involved….but not so much on other issues.

Did you ever notice how much he touches his face? It seems to occur most frequently when he’s not on the promoter with prepared remarks. Of course, most kids learn at an early age that touching their face is a pretty sure way to spread a virus, but Joe is Joe and maybe they taught that lesson the same day they taught the “Don’t grope women” class. Beyond that, of course, is the science of body language. This sort of thing is typically associated with feeling nervous, embarrassed, insecure or in need for reassurance according to one website: https://bodylanguagematters.com/body-language-hands-on-face/ He looks like an old timer here.

Right. I’m stating unequivocally that when one party targets people by race, implies they are guilty of heinous crimes and a threat to the children of another group, and does so for social and political gain, it’s a very bad thing. It was always bad, but when people support the people who do it…. You should know that, and you do, because I’ve seen other posts you’ve shared, but you’re willing to make an exception for your own benefit. As for guns, gun nuts and the like, I haven’t seen one sensible human being equate Gov Abbot and his whiteness to hate crimes of the kkk. I’ve seen the Some Random Moms of Texas, and you.
-
You haven’t provided the specifics about Gov Abbott and him burning out families. It’s weird because you asked for specifics on the very well-established problems with intolerance and division yesterday, but now you’re quiet as a church mouse. You’re so wrapped up in virtue signaling that you are completely obliviously the obvious signs of divisiveness, racial intolerance and stereotyping. People like you are why people like them thrive, and always have. Different boogeyman, different target, same hatred.

Insults? You called me an idiot and a loser just recently when I attempted respectful dialogue with you. Were those comments from you just friendly love-nubbins? It’s hard to tell when a poster is awash in hypocrisy from one post to the next. I can’t rehash a few hundred years of American history and the dangers of extremists targeting people regardless of color, even though you find it fashionable to target the white people you don’t like. There are ways for angry moms, purportedly from Texas, to campaign and crusade against white politicians without suggesting that Abbott is coming to their town to hand their children, burn books and stage KKK murder and burn parties in their neighborhoods. The problem is, if the angry moms purportedly from Texas avoid using over the top and hateful rhetoric, all they have is an argument against policy that they tend to lose in Texas. Remember Tibs, Texas Mom! spelled upside down is Texas Wow!, but only if you leave Texas out of it. You’re the guy wanting specifics….when has Governor Abbott ever been charged, arrested or convicted for any crime causing harm to children or burning crosses or burning down houses?
-
That’s what the mob supporting bigotry always says, Tibs. Congrats, you’re a useful idiot.
-
No, these people would have been too young to be in commercials in the 1950s Tibs. Hard to say if they were even born.
-
Well, it’s pretty straight forward, really. You have a number of people making highly inflammatory remarks about a particular race. At roughly 1:18 of the screed, they specifically mention “white politicians” as those coming to burn books, coming after children, and burning homes and crosses on lawns. Replace “white” with any of the following, and do it in an accent from the protagonists from “Mississippi Burning” and you tell me: Jewish. Black. Indian. Catholic. Hispanic. And so on. As far as history repeating itself, we all know and agree there are small-minded, ignorant and hateful people in the world who will target a millions of people they find “undesirable”. You probably voted for one a few years back. The biggest challenge isn’t the hater delivering the message, it’s when people like you offer up this sort of thing as normal and appropriate, completely oblivious to the destructive messaging contained therein. As I said, history repeats.
-
In the old days, these people would meet in secret, at night, probably in the barn of the maga lady-rancher’s climate-destroying ranch, to discuss ways to dispatch what they call in the ad the “white politician”. Now, it’s a mainstream topic.
-
A bigoted, misandristic political ad suggesting a person defined by both race and gender is apparently responsible for all societal ills and may come to burn you out of your home and much, much worse….coming from residents of a deeply southern state. History repeats, and this ad has a very creepy, almost robotic Stepford Wives vibe to it.

I try to be consistent in how I view the facts leading up to an officer-involved shooting, considering when/why the officer chose to fire. I've seen video of the chaos just prior to the shooting, and understand that the officer had no idea what was coming next for him. He's a human being. If he's my son, brother, or friend, I think his main job is to go home each night to his family--not be some pawn in some absurd political game. All around him, there are people raging, rioting, and attempting to break through a barrier most definitely designed to keep people out. She decides, quite foolishly, to get closer to an officer in an exceptionally stressful situation, with all hell breaking loose all around him, and in my opinion, probably concerned these nutjobs were going to kill him on their way to whatever they had planned that day. She made a bad decision, a dumb decision at the wrong place and time---like many others dispatched by law enforcement. I don't think he necessarily fired out of some noble desire to save the politicians cowering in the chamber, I think he fired because he was scared to death and felt his life was in jeopardy. I don't think he set out that day to shoot the lady, I don't think he planned on taking a life, and I'd bet his life is changed forever as a result of shooting an unarmed lady and killing her. Mostly, I bet the guy wished he hadn't worked that day, or that there was some way around killing an unarmed female. I'm hard-pressed to think him a villain here, though I readily admit if the same scenario played out at a store in the Heartland, the resultant outrage and calls for his head on a stick for not leg-shootin would be real, sustained, and visceral. Virtually every member of congress squawking about 'defunding' would gleefully savage him and destroy his life in pursuit of their cause. I believe that many liberal voters and more than a few here would support that crusade while bending over backwards here supporting THIS officer involved shooting.
-
I agree, but we're just people on a message board expressing thoughts and opinions. The challenge here is when you step outside the beltway crowd of special rules and guidelines, there is precious little consistency from the liberal arm of congress on these issues. Michael Brown assaults just about every person in his path, attempts to end the life of a police officer, and becomes a national anti-hero to BLM and many members of Congress/the Executive office; Jakob Blake performs reprehensible acts on an innocent victim, is confronted at her home, attempts to grab a knife in an effort to end the life of the police officers doing their job and becomes a martyr when subdued with non-lethal force; The old timer who confronted a police officer in a very stressful situation, during an extraordinarily stressful time, makes a very threatening motion to a police officer and is pushed away, falls and cracks his noggin---and the accusation from the dem and libs of the world is unnecessary force and police brutality. Covid lockdowns were pitched as the only way to save humanity from the maybe-bat-bites-human virus that swept the world, yet democrat leaders encouraged and/or participated in exactly the type of activity that was going to lead to mass suffering, spread and death. Recently, AOC losing her focus when some guy made inappropriate comments to her, and off she went in search of assistance from the police, and presumably arrest of a guy making the same sort of spectacle she makes every day. Maybe you're a proponent of Kyle Rittenhouse-type justice. It seems like it to me. While I support the officer who shot the lady at the Capitol, it's indisputable that she was unarmed, was wearing no body armor, and posed no imminent threat to the officer in the moment--a highly trained law enforcement officer who certainly was capable of warning shots, or shots to the lower leg as prescribed by some of the harshest critics of law enforcement in our country:
