  1. Jeez, the guy calls for an investigation into COVID and suddenly you’re anti-investigation. Weird.
  2. The Russians are no longer involved in disinformation, election interference and manipulation…is that your angle now? Good Lord.
  3. The grand jury process offers excellent cover for this sort of thing. It’s typically one-sided, there is very little upside for targets of investigations to appear, and the grand jury simply decides if the matter can proceed. Big picture, the argument can be made that it’s in the public interest to take the next step. The hope is that all parties are acting ethically without animus to trust that the right thing is done, which sadly is a heavy list.
  4. Personally, I can see how the whole mistake was made. I think Marshall Law was a low budget, B movie in the 1970s about a crooked cop who went straight after being assaulted and left for dead by a notorious mob boss named Hugh G. Rection. Martial law involves the usurpation of civil law in favor of military authority during times of societal unrest. Simple mistake, and don't even get me started on Marshall Crenshaw. Someday, some way maybe I'll understand that. That said, it was an unforced error on your part. Now you're doubling down by mocking someone for being on a site you're quite active on, except of course when dodging questions about your deeply held political beliefs that you apply on a completely arbitrary basis. You should take the hit, tap out, and try again. Do the right thing. For what it's worth, I value @B-Man's prototypical duncery, or duncessness if you will. I think his dunceocity is off the charts!
  5. I wouldn’t characterize DR in that way. I found him engaging on a personal level (limitations with anonymous internet postings notwithstanding, we never interacted beyond the website), enjoyed interacting with him and shared my thoughts that sometimes, when you interact with dirty dogs, you get sometimes get fleas. I recognize some of the issues with other posters were on him, and that some wounds are self-inflicted. He was correct on some issues, missed on some others. Most of us are like that, at least when viewed from someone else’s perch.
  6. UnoAndrew, the problem here is you seem to see the flip side of the Climate Doom Theory as Screw the Planet And Future Generations. That’s silly. Future generations are extraordinarily likely to look back and think “Wow, they fell for all that *&$#?”. Balance, a healthy degree of skepticism, considering agenda, who gets paid, and where power is consolidated is always sensible.
  7. The Rhino remains the most interesting man on PPP, yet hasn’t posted here in a couple years. Or has he?* *He hasn’t.** **Probably.
  8. The electoral strategy is to convince a sh-t ton of people that the other guy is Rasputin coming to eat their children. One could argue it all started with Gore and his Supreme Court Hail Mary, and got ratcheted up from there. It’s working, and will be the standard until it stops working. Who’d a ever thunk the Dems would convince their minions to saddle up and ride with a Cheney.
  9. You’re suggesting this wasn’t an armed raid? What was the exaggeration? Showed up unannounced; Armed and combat ready; Demanded access under penalty of law; Ransacked the house; Removed items that exceeded the scope of authority; Advised they would get around to returning those items when they got to it; Pro-raid, anti-raid, neutral about it, it was an armed raid. Again, not at all certain who wouldn’t complain about this sort of thing.
  10. The pay is exceptional, the time commitment and knowledge base minimal. This is why you are El Docturo, and I a humble purveyor of trinkets, Belgian chocolate and nylons for the fairer sex.
  11. So I watched it and kept waiting for the part where he attacked the blue. Is there a second part? Don Jr Part Deux? Assuming not, what he said seems quite pedestrian in context. I don’t know if the Hostage Rescue team was dispatched, but it was obviously an armed raid on the property, with a strong intimidation factor, they spent almost 10 hours there and made off with at least a few things they should not have taken. He talked about dismantling the bureaucracy, which is a common refrain from just about every political group every now and again. I don’t really know anyone subjected to such a thing referring to it otherwise. That it was spearheaded by a political rival makes it worse.
  12. In spite of the headline, S3 and “hoax” is one of my favorite thematic threads on PPP.
  13. The notion that Garland was willing to keep it quiet as some benefit to the subject of the search is pandering of the highest order. Fans of “Nick Vieg” might buy it—they’ll buy anything—but the following conventional wisdom applies: -There is no benefit to Trump to keeping the raid quiet. Zero; -This was a raid, not an uneasy alliance reached between adversaries best handled behind the scenes; -Unnamed anonymous sources, leaks guarantee the media would have reported almost immediately. Silence in that regard would have benefitted only the DOJ Regardless of whether or not it was political, the last thing anyone needed here was silence.
  14. This is the part of the apparatus that Chi refers to as deeply flawed, I think. Thankfully, the DOJ has graciously allowed itself two weeks to undeeply deflaw the whole mess—in some regimes they just keep the stuff they mistakenly seized.
  15. Jordan says more than a dozen whistleblowers ready to talk about leadership. https://citizenfreepress.com/breaking/jim-jordan-14-fbi-whistleblowers-have-stepped-forward/ I think we can all agree this is good news for the country? One way or the other, it is important to hear what is going on without the filter of biased media or smooth talking politicians.
  16. Trump won’t be running against just the Dems though, and traditional R politicians ready for a return to the good ole days add to the already formidable challenge. When Biden was elected, in the halls of Washington what really changed for people like McConnell, Graham etc? Did they launch any sort 1/6 and the drumbeat of insurrection will be an issue for those people who liked his policies but not his style. True, he’s picked up support along the way, but enough to move the needle?
  17. I think Chi believes when he used the word “literally” it ended the conversation, and when linking to USA Today fact-checkers it’s basically the Crane Technique of internet political discussions.
  18. That’s it, Doc! Now you get what our liberal comrades here have been saying! Trump is so dumb, he left his fingerprints all over this by having it happen on the next administrations watch!
  19. You laid it all out? 😂 Check out the time stamp, and settle down Mr. AntsInpants.
  20. Ja, I don’t recall folks suggesting what Biden did was criminal, or impeachment-worthy. The argument imo is that while Trump was being hounded for all sorts of issues that were reported on a second or third hand basis (something that continues to this day), Biden oafishly brags about shaking down an ally to bend them to his will. The larger point was that what happens everyday in Washington establishment circles suddenly became a major national crisis that stunned insiders. I agree with you about the establishment version of Biden’s actions, and the preposterous take that his son and his good fortune were completely incidental to the big picture. Bottom line….family members riding the coattails of their powerful relatives and getting special treatment is nothing new at all. Rs,Ds, Is all do it.
  21. Whatever you’re going through, prayers up. This too shall pass.
  22. Jiminy Christmas. You’re suggesting that I’m one of 10,000,000 fascist proud boy oath keeping reincarnations of JC who something something something about drugs and gangs and weapons and zealots? I’m not in a gang, though I catch a beer with some middle aged friends every month or two. Our kids were in cub scouts together. One guy may be in witness protection, we think, but it’s hard to say. I don’t own weapons, Bill. I always figured I’d shoot myself in the leg if I did. I burned my forehead checking a gas grill one time. People might have thought I was in the Manson clan. Just an fyi based on todays dialogue, I’m not in the Manson clan, I just burned my forehead when checking on a gas grill one time. You may not have gotten the message that referring to neighborhoods in crisis as a “ghetto” while living in what is very likely a cushy privileged neighborhood is disrespectful. I don’t do drugs, Bill, so if you’re grooming me to be your supplier you’re wasting your time. I think you have the COVID fog, Bill.
  23. Tibs, you’re among the worst offenders of a sliding scale of outrage on the board. This is a prime example. “Defund the police” and “Systemic racism” are not geared toward the individual “racist cop”. That’s an outrageous reimagining of the last several years of liberal politics and law enforcement nationwide have the body count of murdered police officers to prove it. Next up for you people is calling out Trump for a “jihad”. Completely predictable. Prior to that it was “Oligarchs”. You’ve decided guilt unilaterally, again, as they always know you will.
  24. I’m really, really hard-pressed to criticize honorable and hard-working people at the FBI. I can’t suggest that I’d defy an order like this one if I was in that role, a presumably lawful order was issued and it’s their responsibility to act accordingly. If there’s wrongdoing here, it’s on the bureaucracy and is occurring at the highest levels. I also think this issue with publishing information is dangerous. It is amazing though, in a not-really-amazing-just-another-hypocritical-day, how some of these folks pre-judge and target law enforcement on a daily basis in pursuit of their cause, and become the-instituion-is-beyond-reproach-stalwarts when the tables are turned.
