  1. I assumed you are not serious, but I've read your posts and I'm afraid you are not.
  2. I see, rich people can't stand up for others. Got it. Lot of nice people on this board.
  3. If you don't know then you must be one of them uninformed people you don't like.
  4. I disagree with that correlation (and I hope you as well). So if you don't "emote" it's more likely you have a greater understanding of civics, politics and current affairs? I'd say it's much more likely the opposite is true. However, I do believe that people all across the spectrum should utilize a wider array of information and resources; and a LOT more understanding as to WHY people protest.
  5. Perhaps, and the current White House has done wonders to lower the bar to depths not known possible.
  6. Seems obvious you wouldn’t pass your own test. Sad.
  7. “Dont understand”? You mean, there should be a test to determine if you should have an opinion? I mean, before you know it, we’ll elect some kind of reality TV star. So so what percentage of people in sport would you say know enough about a subject matter? Should we give them the right to expresss their opinion?
  8. Perhaps it's because you don't like what they have to say about racial injustice? I'm not trying to start a fight, genuinely curious. Personally, if someone wants to make a statement that has zero effect on what they do on the field, it's perfectly cool with me. Of course not, you don't have to listen or watch what anyone does off the field. And if you don't like what they say, then you could express that opinion and/or not take action, like not watching them perform. My problem is that the NFL (and other leagues) want to dictate what is done or said off the field and/or purposely mischaracterizing the nature of what is said. All in all, I still don't see how any of this has effected the product of the game itself.
  9. Sports are very American, but so are politics, racial discord and the First Amendment. However, I fail to see how political and racial agendas have effected the product on the field, court, rink, wherever. Nor do I ever see how you can separate the athlete from their personal and political views. To me, that wouldn't be American at all. Do we think less of Jackie Robinson and all those who fought to integrate sports? What about the efforts to push back on apartheid? Would Ali be Ali without his political and social views? Frankly, I don't see what is so objectionable. The fact that athletes have opinions or what they say? It would be tragic to our nation if we simply tell anyone they have no right to express an opinion because we find it personally tiresome, objectionable, contrary to your beliefs, etc.
  10. I liked it. From what I remember it was tense as well done.
  11. To me, "Impractical Jokers" is easily one of the worst shows ever created. It's cringeworthy bad. Will check out the other shows.
  12. My favorite new show is Killing Eve on BBC America (all 8 episodes are On Demand). Highly recommend. Full of surprises, well-written, great characters and acting. Eve's life as a spy is not adding up to what she had hoped it would be when she started. She is a bored, very smart, MI5 security officer who is very desk-bound. Villanelle is a very talented killer, mercurial in mood, who clings to the luxuries of her job. Eve and Villanelle go head to head in a fierce game of cat and mouse, each woman equally obsessed with the other as Eve is tasked with hunting down the psychopathic assassin.
  13. I'd like to take a look at how the Patriots were built. Year after year they find "mid-level" guys who step up and do their jobs. When they do go big (Stephen Gilmore) it doesn't always were out.
  14. Jumps the Shark
  15. The results are already set up, the "trick" is to get the same results every time, that's why he knew what would happen two years ago.
  16. Four reletively "simple" tricks but he gets an "A+" for the set-up and delivery.
  17. Recently saw: - David Byrne (highly recommended) - The Fratellis (a lot of fun) On Tap: - Jack White - The Decembrists
  18. Agree, among the worst are Fox News, the NY Post, Info Wars, Rush Limbaugh, Washington Times, Sinclair Broadcasting, the Sun in London . . .
  19. Well, his analysis for Cardale Jones was spot on: Cardale Jones, Buffalo Bills – 4th (139) My No. 3 quarterback in the draft with a second round grade, Jones was a great value selection by the Bills in the fourth round, and should fit their offense well. I think he’ll be given the opportunity to compete with Tyrod Taylor for the starting spot, and has the electric arm and underrated smarts to succeed earlier than many expect. I’m not sure he’s worse than Taylor, but the Bills may ultimately feel more comfortable with the incumbent – for now. Year One Impact: Will push for starting spot For more interesting analysis - https://draftwire.usatoday.com/2016/05/23/2016-nfl-draft-review-quarterbacks/
  20. Do you assume that all or most reported sexual assault is “character assassination?” You say “these days,” as if the concept of character assassination is a new concept. When did it start? 2016? 1066? How is this “the media’s” fault? Who is this “media” you speak of? Is more prevelent at the New York Post or Info Wars than say the Sun in England, or maybe in Australia or Russia Today? Actually, save it, I know exactly where you get your talking points.
  21. I think it was a fair story and unless there is any further action by the accuser, the matter is settled. I was addressing the general comments about sexual assault.
  22. It's dispiriting and appalling to see more than a few posters who equate #Metoo with "Fake News." The horrifying part is dismissing the fact that sexual assault is an all too common occurrence. Patricia is a public figure, he is subject to public scrutiny and this is part of his public life. it's not a "witch hunt" to report what happened.
  23. You clearly clearly have a strong opinion on women speaking out on alleged sexual assault. It’s not “taking sides” to report something that happened. Even you would have to admit that a woman reported an assault by three men and a grand jury thought there was enough evidence to warrant a trial. Those are facts. The reporter also explained what happened next, which I thought was fair to Patricia and the woman. Yes, he is innocent in the court of law. Yes, he very well may be entirely without fault and the woman made up the whole thing. But we also cannot assume we know anything else and mostly because the writer posed questions we may never know.
