Which reason do you think JP will attribute his
Max Fischer replied to Tipster19's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
More insightful questions: How often does JP beat up his girlfriend? Is JP a wimp or a wuss? Does JP deserve to be shot or stabbed? Is JP a pedophile or simply like boys? Will he take his failure like a man or commit suicide? -
Ok, now the critical quesition: who does Dick hire
Max Fischer replied to Max Fischer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Why would Caldwell come to Buffalo? I'm also weary hiring OC/DCs who've only had all-star rosters. -
Can't throw to Smith if you can see him.

i have resolved to be happy with the hire
Max Fischer replied to dave mcbride's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
The one positive with this initially disappointing hire is for the first time in a while I will not have over-inflated expectations and almost guaranteed not to be disappointed by our record. I know I can (thankfully) be proved wrong but I can honestly say this is a low-point. I have almost no confindence this team is headed in the right direction. -
That is pretty f'in funny.

Sherman-HC, Bates-DC, Caldwell- OC prediction
Max Fischer replied to genomich's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I don't see why Caldwell would leave Indy. I like our guys but I don't think he'll see Harrison, James and Manning on the roster just yet. Besides, I have a problem bringing in coordinators who have that much talent and expect them to duplicate it. -
I dont have video but sherman was just

You can tell a lot about a person by what they order. In that case, I hope he didn't get the cream puffs. -
Regardless if I think it's a good idea (I'm ambivilent) I have no patience for scenarios that hinge largely on things that are totally out of the control of the team. First, I don't think Cincy would give up their #1 for a franchised cornerback. Why would they? Second, what if no team takes Clements for less than a #2 or #3? Then what? How does that change the entire complex of your "plan?" You may as well have started the plan by saying: "Ok, first we'll get Julius Peppers . . ." It's just as realistic -- or at the very least, not within the control of the team.

I hate that Manning doesn't play for the Bills.
-
No doubt one of the Top 5 dumbest reasons NOT to like a player. Like saying you don't like Manny Ramirez because he has a dirty batting helmet.
-
Clements for Cincy's #1? I stopped reading at that point.

Did Belechik bring the Bills by mistake?
Max Fischer replied to Max Fischer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Not . . . dead . . . yet . . . -
Vinitari, Brady, dumb mistakes and stupid turnovers. And there still not out of it . . . PLEASE, JUST DIE!!!!!!!!!!
-
Me thinks you are a BIT sensitive. It's not like were listening to Theisman, Paul Doofus or Madden. Besides, for the most part they were very unusual NE mistakes.
-
My God, a sign of the Apocolypse: Vinitari missed a very makable FG (in the playoffs!)
-
I will be very happy if Denver wins, but say what you want, the Pats deserve the praise until they lose a playoff game. You'd expect no less if the Bills had a fraction of their success. Moreover, besides the INT, Brady is very, very good. Throws a great ball and almost always finds the correct receiver.

Whats worse? Mularkey hiding behind his
Max Fischer replied to In space no one can hear's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
Who cares? He's not the coach anymore -- do you think there are STILL threads obsessing about Gregg Williams and Wade Phillips? How about we talk about Flutie and Johnson? DOH!!! Jeeze Louise, let's move on. -
Updated Prediction- Bobby April HC
Max Fischer replied to Mark VI's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I'm (already) on board with April. Why not Bobby April? I'd take Wyche or Martz as OC and Cottrell or Haslett as DC for all the reasons you state above. April is the delegator who'll still have time for ST. -
We talk a lot about HC ideas but we should also figure in who they'd would or COULD bring in for OC and DC. Of the HC discussed, who had the best staffs? Who would/could they get in the next few weeks? This is a bit of draw back to my personal favorite, Bobby April, but then again, that could be a good thing.

I'd like to see Bobby April as HC
Max Fischer replied to Max Fischer's topic in The Stadium Wall Archives
I hear ya but I'd "take the chance" April would find a very good ST coach -- and like Marv, he'll have great input on how it's run. Besides, chances are April moves on soon anyway for more money and responsibility. As for no HC experience, there is no doubt Bills' fans are a bit gun shy by now. But, that experience is certainly no guarantee for success, and just as important, not necessarily a indicator for failure: M. Lewis, J. Fox, etc. -
From everything I've read this guy has the makings of a good HC. Excellent ST coach, loved and respected by the players. Supposedly a very good judge of talent and character; known to be creative and a good manager. I simply have little faith in Haslett, and would rather see Sherman. But Id take April and leave room for April to bring in new OC, DC and other coaches. I don't suppose there's a chance but I'd risk a coach with no HC experience who players love than a guy like Haslett who doesn't inspire a great deal of confidence. (to me)

Congrats. You've successfully destroyed your credibility in one post. Except for Brees and maybe Simms I wouldn't give up a 6th round pick for any one of these guys. Considering smashed up his throwing arm I may take him for a 4th and Simms based on pedigree maybe a 5th. Anyone else?

Exactly. I just don't understand how quickly people want to throw JP under the bus. I have no idea if he'll make a quality QB next year; but the same people who are estatic with the changes should be willing to give JP a mulligan and another chance to prove his first round status. Almost no one had a good year and to expect a "first" year QB to make progress under those condiitions is unreasonable and worthy of reevalutation. You can't complain about the horrid pass protection and want to get rid of JP; you can't complain about the weak running game and expect JP to compensate; you can't berate the play calling and say JP should be replaced by Aaron Brooks or one of the other two dozen other QBs who are great because we've heard of them -- or worse, draft another QB by sacrificing up-grades in other much more needed positions. There aren't many QBs in the league with JP's raw skills and I'd rather give him a fair shot at winning the job outright than go fantasizing about QBs who likely wouldn't have done much better for the 2005 Bills. Call me a "JP Lover" (or some other 3rd grade level label) but I think JP will win the job in camp and be a very decent QB next year. He has above average skills, a wicked arm, a fiery competitive nature and with a good scheme, average blocking, a somewhat reliable run game and at least decent playcalling JP will be a "top-third" QB next year.
